Title: Tsar tank
Post by: OSHIROmodels on May 27, 2013, 09:03:43 AM
A little build project for a vary nice chap indeed  :)

It's the Kora models 1:72 Tsar tank. You know, the one with the silly wheels...

The kit itself isn't to bad but I'm going to have to remake several of the peices as cleaning up the resin casts would take to much time. For now I've just got a picture of the constituent parts as I need to get back to work to cut out the new parts before assembly.

More on this hopefully late in the week  :)

cheers

James

Never realised there was a kit available...

Where from & how much?

I'll let the chap in question answer that as he's the one who bought it and resides here :)

Maybe the tank's alternate designation?

I was a little disappointed when Bruce went for a glorified monster truck instead of something based on this for his roadblock runner in Batman: The Cult.

Well that has made my day - thanks very much James.

It is called a 'batmobile' in other places on the web, can't remember whereabouts at the moment but it may come back to me.

The model itself came from a company in the Czech Republic I will look up the name if you are still interested after I tell you the horrific price - are you ready?  - £94.00!!!!!!!!

Is it worth it, probably not, but when did that ever come into anything to do with the hobby?

I look forward to following the build with bated breath.

Cheers

John

Thank you.

Serious price-tag. I'd be scared to tackle anything that pricey - I generally draw the line at kits that are a third of that, on the basis that if I make a mess it's not a huge patch of my spending money shot down in flames.

Also at that price I would want one a lot closer to 28mm or closer to 15mm.

The tank was nicknamed "Bat" by its designers because it somehow resembled a bat hanging upside-down.

Aha, interesting anecdote, thanks!

Very cool piece of kit! I saw one for sale on EBay, however, I must admit that the price tag forced some sober reflection.

Uhm.....a worrying development in the race for "agricultural" hardware  :-X

I agree with Fasto, 28mm gives you an actual object sizable and with value, kits should rethink their pricing if they are going to compet with 28mm metal counterparts...also...about time people start looking at plastic industrial product prices...

Well, the vast majority of the cleaning up is done and most of the replacement parts are done but it's not worth a photo I'm afraid until bits get cut out etc.

I am away for a short while soon but will be proceeding with this as soon as I get back  :)

cheers

I looked at this kit a while back and my eyes bled
Good luck Jim, I am sure you are the man to sort this
