I've posted a bit of fiction introducing Synryll Voolge, a pivotal character in the steampunk setting I'm creating for my games of "Empire of the Dead" and "In Her Majesty's Name." Meet this imposing fellow in my latest entry in "Dispatches from the Rim."

Having worked a s an orthopedic clinic tech for several years and with a wife with spinal stenosis, I have the greatest respect for your wife's trials. Tell her I wish her well and hope someday there will be a way to remove her physical challenges.
I am intrigued in your character because someone else, without your empathy and insight, would find it easy to create a character like this into a 2D cardboard cutout stereotype. I suspect this character will be far more nuanced and "real" given your knowledge and background. While not a fan of "steam punk" itself I am now interested in seeing where you go with this fascinating member of virtual humanity.
Please keep us posted of your writings/creative efforts.
Gracias,
Glenn

Interesting, thanks for posting.

Thank you both for your kind words. I'll certainly keep you posted, Conquistador, as Voolge's deeds unfold and affect the various warbands fighting for survival in benighted, steamy London.
I will gladly convey your well wishes to my wife. She will be most gratified, I am sure.

That's a great character you've laid the foundation for that can sit in the middle of your gaming settings, waxing and waning as you see fit. Looking forward to reading more about him and your gaming setting.

Ably written my good Sir I can’t wait to read more. I’m sorry to hear of your wife’s condition I hope you have a good massage therapist for her. My sister-in-law is a massage therapist who helps people with similar conditions.

Thank you, kidterminal. We have not yet added a massage therapist to her arsenal of care providers, but it is definitely something we will look into.

That could have come straight out of a published novel. Really good stuff. I like the sound of what's coming too.

Thank you so much for the compliment, Elk101. Maybe one day!
