Title: 'Allo 'Allo
Post by: Mad Lord Snapcase on June 20, 2013, 05:32:20 PM
Can anyone suggest 28mm minis for the following people in 'Allo 'Allo. I have quite a few of the others but can't think where to get these. They will form one of my Pulp Alley leagues in an attack on a secret German rocket base. It goes without saying that a certain painting will be involved.

I have this fella that I use as Inspecteur Jean Darme...

I have no idea where he is from, I shall contact the fella who sold him to me and see if I can find out.
 :D

Of course, someone reading this may know where it is from.

Black Tree Design does a Charles De Gaule. Just add a small cape and you're all set. It's already got the height and attitude...

I now have the info regarding the figure I posted a piccie of.
He is from Scarab Miniatures:

http://scarabminiatures.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=5_8&products_id=13

Part of the Italian High Command set.

I reckon he will work well as Officer Crabtree.

Many thanks for all your suggestions:

I've actually got this figure and hadn't even thought about using it!

I will be buying this one, definitely. I'll get the figure that Joroas suggested and put all three together to decide which one I am going to use. And thanks, Yankeepedlar01 for the Bersaglieri, I'll be getting that one as well. I'll post a picture of the ones I have got (unfortunately not painted yet!).

I quite agree Geudens, however this is part of my Pulp campaign entitled 'Eye of the Buddha' (part 1 and part 2 are somewhere here on the forum). There are several interested leagues involved in penetrating the secret rocket base at Wewelsburg. Ankh su Namun and Countess Ripya Korzetov to name but two. Rene Artois' mission to penetrate the base is a side-theme and it may be that Ankh su Namun ends up stealing the 'Fallen Madonna with the Big Boobies'! From Wewelsburg, I think the action moves back to Alexandria, not sure yet!  ;)

It all sounds a bit cock-eyed but it keeps me sane (nearly)!  lol lol lol

(There might also be a part that takes place in an aristocratic home owned by Clarence, ninth Earl of Emsworth, need to source the Empress yet)

Thanks Dave.
It's early days yet because the scenery part is quite labour intensive. The action at the rocket base will be in two parts, the approach and the interior. There are some early shots of the secret rocket base on my blog at:

That looks wonderful, Your Lordship!
You may say that scenery building is quite labour intensive, but I find that carving blue foam can be quite therapeutic.

The base is coming along wonderfully well.

Looking forward to following the progress on this.

“Allo, 'allo, this is Nighthawk calling! Are you receiving me? 'Allo, ‘allo, come in, listen very carefully I shall say this only once....."

(http://i1352.photobucket.com/albums/q645/Mad_Lord_Snapcase/Its%20Alive/allocast2_zps66f73270.jpg) (http://s1352.photobucket.com/user/Mad_Lord_Snapcase/media/Its%20Alive/allocast2_zps66f73270.jpg.html)

So now I’ve foolishly entered the LAF ‘It’s Alive’ Threadomancy project, I’ve dug out the miniatures and scenery for my project. All I’ve got to do now is finish it by June!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(http://i1352.photobucket.com/albums/q645/Mad_Lord_Snapcase/Its%20Alive/ItsAlive001_zps0fb7f860.jpg) (http://s1352.photobucket.com/user/Mad_Lord_Snapcase/media/Its%20Alive/ItsAlive001_zps0fb7f860.jpg.html)

This shows Gruber’s ‘Little Tank’which needs repainting to fit in with the environs of Nouvion. This will be the main entrance to the secret rocket base but I will not be doing the exterior as part of this project as this section of the base connects to other sections not started yet.

(http://i1352.photobucket.com/albums/q645/Mad_Lord_Snapcase/Its%20Alive/ItsAlive002a_zps03eeb264.jpg) (http://s1352.photobucket.com/user/Mad_Lord_Snapcase/media/Its%20Alive/ItsAlive002a_zps03eeb264.jpg.html)

Then we have a sort of aerial view. There are some prohibited runic symbols carved into the stonework here so I have covered them over. The door, middle bottom, connects to the next section internally.

(http://i1352.photobucket.com/albums/q645/Mad_Lord_Snapcase/Its%20Alive/ItsAlive003_zps5ae81ea9.jpg) (http://s1352.photobucket.com/user/Mad_Lord_Snapcase/media/Its%20Alive/ItsAlive003_zps5ae81ea9.jpg.html)

The assembled cast, from back to front, left to right:

Colonel Kurt von Strohm, Herr Flick, Major General Erich von Kilinkerhoffen, Lieutenant Hubert Gruber, Captain Alberto Bertorelli, unnamed German guard, Flight Lieutenant Fairfax, Flight Lieutenant Carstairs, Officer Crabtree, Monsieur Alfonse, Madame Fanny La Fan, Roger Leclerc, Michelle Dubois, Yvette Carte-Blanche, Maria Recamier, Edith Melba Artois and Rene Artois.

(http://i1352.photobucket.com/albums/q645/Mad_Lord_Snapcase/Its%20Alive/ItsAlive004_zps649c592e.jpg) (http://s1352.photobucket.com/user/Mad_Lord_Snapcase/media/Its%20Alive/ItsAlive004_zps649c592e.jpg.html)

This shows the very important German guards, one bored with his arms folded, one having a sneaky fag and one who has found the knockwurst sausage which is being used to hide the stolen picture of the "Fallen Madonna With The Big Boobies" by Van Klomp.

This is all a bit of a challenge for me as I am a rather slow worker and tend to move from one project to another with no discipline to stick to one subject. So I am preparing to fail, having failed to prepare!

Officer Crabtree: "I was pissing by the door, when I heard two shats. You are holding in your hand a smoking goon; you are clearly the guilty potty."

Officer Crabtree: "I am mauving in a ginger fashion becerrs my poloceman's pints are full of dinamote!"

The next figure is complete. This Gefreiter has found the sausage containing “The Fallen Madonna” with the big boobies by Van Klomp. However he seems to have discarded the much-sought after painting in favour of eating the sausage! This is not actually a character in ‘Allo ‘Allo but when I saw this miniature I had to have him in this project.

I haven't done much painting recently as I've been organising my Dad moving in with us. However, I've managed to finish the interior brickwork which means I can get on with painting now. I'm wondering whether to do the bricks in a sort of institutional gloss dark green and cream rather than painting them as bricks. Any thoughts?

I am afraid the standard of figure painting is not very good but progress is being made, slowly. Officer Crabtree is pissing by.

Crabtree: "Good Moaning, I have come to arost your mither."
Yvette: "Arrest her mother, why?"
Crabtree: "She has been pissing fudged bank notes in the hot shop."
Edith: "What does Crabtree say Yvette?"
Yvette: "I think he said 'she has been passing forged bank notes in the hat shop'."
Crabtree: "Presoasly!"
