Hi! I'm new in town and haven't had a chance to completely peruse the whole forum yet, but it looks wonderful!
Has anyone seen any "uplifted" ape or chimpanzee figures? I mean dressed as humans, spacesuits, coveralls, etc?
I want to run a game of David Brin's Uplift series and it features chimps genetically enhanced to the equal of mankind.
Now, I know GURPS/Steve Jackson produced some but I would like more variety.
Thanks,
SteveN

Eureka is almost famous for their monkeys and apes in jump suits. Darkson design makes Soviet WWWII chumans.
I seem to recall that someone makes World of the Apes simians to, can't remeber who.
Oh, and Rackham makes a speices of Space Gorillas to.

Mongoose also had some for the Gangs in Mega-city game. Don't know if they can still be found that easily though...

To get the GMC1-apes, you'd have to find some vendors carrying Mongoose stuff and still stocking them... I think April 30th was the last chance to order any minis from Mongoose directly (I got myself a complete collection of GMC1).
EDIT: (Or was it March 31st...??)
The Boiler Suit Apes/monkeys from Eureka are really neat, if you want some grease monkeys (sorry  ), or just some genetically intellectually-enhanced apes/monkeys - and check the set 'Apes in Space', too 8)
-
I think erueka miniatures has some Boiler suit apes

I love the Eureka apes! And welcome aboard.

Graven image makes some very nice looking Not Planet of the Apes types

Some of the Karmans from AT43 might work for space-apes too:

I keep meaning to pick some up myself really.

Well the Monolith ones look ok, as do the Eureka ones, though I'd like to find some unarmed ones. If I can find a decent head in the Heroclix line I'll do some head swapping with some civilians.
Thank!

There was a thread on TMP last year where Cacique Caribe was sculpting his own:

I don't know what the state of play is, but you could try contacting him. Maybe if he got them cast you could see if he will sell you some.

How does the Graven Images stuff compare, size wise, to, Ooohhhh, Copplestone and such? Isn't it a little large?
-
The Graven Images miniatures are 1/48 so measure approx 36/40mm tall (I'm at work, so don't have them to hand) They are also fairly chunky sculpts. They are significantly bigger than even the largest Copplestones.
-
Thank you, sir.
-
No Problem. :)
Having just measured them, they are 37mm to eye/40mm to top of head.

If you're going to start converting, why not look at ordinary ape type figures and add clothes ?
I have seen some apes knocking about in Darkest Africa ranges (can't remember a maker though), and I think there may be some in the Wizards of the Coast D&D ranges
-
Rather than add clothes, I'd rather just swap heads.
Eureka's apes are the closest to what I'm looking for. I guess I can just get a bunch and do modifications. It's too bad nearly all of them are armed, I wanted some 'civilians' too. Doctors with lab coats would be cool!
Thanks
