Title: VSF Dwarfs
Post by: ZMM on July 18, 2013, 10:22:00 PM
Hi guys,

I'm working on and going to be casting up some VSF dwarfs (mainly for myself) and thinking of selling them. I've finished one so far and was wondering if i could get some feedback on what people thought!?

I would like left side, right side, and back views before saying too much.  This looks very early in the process (unless this is a singleton set of two stand alone figures instead a start of a more diverse collection) but I like what I see so far.

Oh, and a front view more "head-on" would be nice too.

Gracias,

Glenn

From what I can see I would say that you have made a good start.

Is there any backstory or theme to these dwarves? Is this straight on steam-fantasy, or would they form some sort of secret race in a 'real' steampunk/VSF world?

I actually have a whole back story written down and there are already 7 models sculpted/almost finished on my work table. I will post some more images up soon.

Are you producing these commercially, or as a personal project?

Both really, i enjoy sculpting steampunk/vsf figures so i thought i may as well sell them as the spin casting molds will already be made!

Looking good. Ditto on the extra views though!

If you let me know the background etc., I could run up an IHMN company listing for them if you like. PM me for my e-mail address.

I would be very interested in a good quality team/skirmish force of Dwarf figures for VSF (I always like to find a way to incorporate dwarf figures into all my non-historical games.)

My decade or better project dwarves:

I brought them up in a whine thread about Germans always being villainous, as these lads were intended to thwart nefarious British plots in central Europe.

Hi ZMM,

I have just explored your website.  I see great things beginning here, so I shall keep an eye on it.

Here you go,

More pictures of Ruben from all for sides and the parts laid out. Some touch ups on the hat and chimney that need to be done before i make a mold. The base is a 30mm base, just so you can get an idea.

I like what I see on this one.  Definitely some minor adjustments/cleanup seem appropriate but a very nice start!

They are even more impressive in the flesh (well, green stuff and plastic)

This is another WIP of one of the Dwarf miniatures i am sculpting. Just waiting for the greenstuff to cure so thought i would post up. This is a sgt for the infantry and his hat will be akin to a 1840s Norwegian infantry hat, but a lot shorter.
