Title: Dixons Miniatures, are they fitting in for you?
Post by: Mr. Peabody on August 04, 2013, 07:16:38 PM
I have been looking over the Dixons 28's Old West and Gangsters lately and have been tempted by what look to be some really useful characters...

But I've never held a Dixon mini or seen one up close. How well do they mix in with your collections?

Thanks in advance for any feedback!

On the small side but I use the together with Foundr and Artizan without hesitation. The Dixon heads are a bit special but have a lot of character

I have 2 gangster packs - civilians are a bit on the small side, the policemen on the large one.

Here's a couple of really rough size comparison photos, if it helps:

I mix and match different manufacturers quite freely in my Strange Aeons collection.
I have some Dixons in there and they work just fine for me.

The most often used Dixons miniatures are my Asylum Guards

These are Dixons Cops with modified headgear.

Here they are with some other manufacturers, the Guards with clubs are Partizan giveaway figures and the Doctor is from Pulp Miniatures.

I would not shirk from using Dixons again if the model fits my needs.

It should be noted that gangsters/police are more recent sculpts with another "head design". I really like these asylum guards, great idea!

Gents, thanks a bunch! Most helpful.

I'm drawn to many of the 'cowboy' sculpts as they should make great Dunwich degenerates, cultists, civilians and other fodder... Lots of character in that selection.
