Title: Finished Spanish Buildings

Hi, I have just finished of some test pieces for some possible commissions and to try out some new techniques for making Spanish inspired buildings which can easily be used for the Iberian Peninsula or Spanish ports in the Carribean. I'm quite happy with these pieces and the new techniques I used such as creating exposed bricks and painting some grains on the wood doors and windows using multiple diluted layers of paint.

Glad to receive some comments on what you think and you might want to change on the buildings.

These look great! Well done. Very effective and good looking buildings.

Only minor suggestion would be to maybe get the walls a bit lighter in colour in order to stick to the typical "spanish-y" look.

What did you use for the windows? Is this some laser cut stuff or something else?

I think the bricks are a bit on the large side and maybe the roof shouldn't end at the same point as the wall on the large building.

Maybe the bricks look a little bit oversized, but I really find the buildings quite realistic, I could easily find them in any village in most part of the Peninsula. They look 'true' to me, pretty nice job :).

My latest project is Sharpe and I will be starting Spanish buildings at some time.

Rather than using the polyfilla approach for the 'wall covering' I think I will use the Herb Gundt method of fine sand as seen in these 2 links:

@White Knight, they were bought from Antenocitis
@Suber, glad that you find the buildings realistic especially as your spanish and know the look.
@Remington, you're right I will experiment with some other tones when building more of these
@Turbo-ben, the windows came from Warbases
@Mindenbrush, the sand storm method looks great, I have used it when I started using woodglue and fine white sand but the results weren't so great probably due to the choice of fine sand.
