Scored on EBay. Couldn't tell what the scale was by the photo supplied by the seller so took a chance. Used as is, the scale is way too small, but with a bit of modification it's going to work out just peachy. ;) It won't have a wheel house anymore but the monks can use it as a river carrier for their vegies.
1 x Thomas The Tank Engine 'boat'.

Lot's of variation apparently from researching so far.
-
Nice find! I think that's going to work perfectly. :D
-
Good show Prof! I was really lucky and scored an Architects of War sanpan a couple of weeks ago for about half price. Knowing the variation in Chinese watercraft though I may need to convert one of these too.

Brilliant, if I do say so myself... ;)
I posted this over on the Strange Aeons board during our flooding in late June:

Its not an Ark, but at least I know it would float ;)

Here is the hull, filled with marbles and resin for weight and balance:

and back together with the remodelled deck with gack and bits:

Now for paint! 8)
Things are slowly returning to normal around here and I have even had time to finish painting my boat, just in time too... :?

It fits about 5 models on 25mm bases on the ship deck.

Is it going to stay popped up like that, or are you going to waterline it?
-
Excellent use of the toys
I guess I will be looking out for similar now ;)

I thought about cutting the hull down to the waterline but once I had filled it with resin, I didn't see the point. I might make a dry dock for it. Really, I just wanted to see if I could take a cheap, plastic, toy boat and make it look better and somewhat useable. I think if I did it again, I would cut the hull down at the waterline though.

Looks like you definitely achieved your goal - and then some. Great job!
What did you use for the rope?
Thanks
-
I wasn't sure how this project was going to work out but I can see where you're going now.
Looking good! ;)
-
Really excellent repurposed toys.
-
What did you use for the rope?
The rope is made from 2 strands of fabric coated floral wire twisted around each other.
