i have managed to take some pics of the new city terrain with some of my diecast cars and trucks

We can see middle east cities like that, in Qatar for example. The under construction building is also a clever idea to represent the continuous evolution of these cities.
Don't see any political thoughs here, just the fact representing this kind of scenery to represent middle east can be revelant, depanding the country especially.
I see that you're better than me finding nice compatible diecasts, by the way lol

the diecasts are mainly from ebay and my sons collection, (he is now grown up and will not miss them) and some i have pick up at toy fairs ect.
still got loads more.
we are looking into taking the terrain and gaming on it at the 'crusade' show in cardiff, s/wales in jan 2014.
might see some of you there

Very cool. I think I'd be too busy playing with all the cars and trucks to bother fighting anyone.

Great looking table. Now just toss 2 to 3 kg of sand on it and it'll look right at home. ;)
