The chap with the sideburns and check pants in the upper pic is a dead ringer for DCI Gene Hunt in Life on Mars.

He does doesn`t he, I deliberatly did the big old checks on the trousers for two reasons
1. I beleive a pukka Not Hunt is in the planning from Killer B
2. My Gran was a seamstress and made me a set of flares in the 70s with just such a pattern, they were a rough tweedy material but "ginger" and I hated them as they were itchy as hell. To top it off my Mam bought a cream girls blouse with puffed sleeves to go with the trousers as she thought they looked nice. The number of fights I had in the play ground where they called it a girls shirt were many (though they were right as it buttoned the wrong way) - the only thing they could have done worse was ...Call me SUE ;D ;)

Those Elvis make me want to dance! I must pick them up - my fave Elvis figure of all time though has to be the old Harlequin dwarf Elvis!

I loved the Elvises when they were posted the first time. I even gave them my vote when they were posted the second time against my own team. But I want to reward new entries, and the Crimewatch team is painted good enough to earn my vote. I wish some of the distractions, like the cops and cars, weren't in the scene though.

Wow 170 votes overall I think this is a testament to the success of the new forum and all the hard work form the LAF members who make it such a friendly and interestng site ( >:D and the cracking Elvis photo...boo hoo why me ;) )

I am a bit taken aback since members tend to be unforgiving with a team which stays put between rounds.

Which isn't really fair, as you are already penalized points-wise for doing so, if I understand the rules correctly.
I have no qualms voting for something that has been around the block a few times, if I like it better I will vote for it. Though I have used it as a tie-breaker in the past when I couldn't decide between two equally-good entries.

I really have no problem with it since I interpret Alex' ambition with the LPL as promoting "a high output of interesting miniatures painted to a high wargaming standard". In other words this competition differes from Golden Deamon in that quantity and turnover also matters, since for wargamers this is a reality. Layer painting one miniature for a year between competitions is of less practical use for a wargamer.
I may not be able to parttake each round but I can synpathize with the idea.

I have no issues with something staying on for a couple of rounds etc, this is for fun and everyone has different variables in their painting output. I just need to find everyones address and send "Big Harry around" to do some Digit re-alignment ;) to stop so many good entries each week.
These Elvi are the dogs Danglies as are so many of the other entries
My point really was (should have started a new thread I suppose) that since the new forum went on line the number of people who have stopped lurking and voted has almost doubled, up until now the averge total count has been around a 100 or so which is great for everyone
