The Pennine Raiders wargaming club is proud to announce its inaugural Bolt Action event: Normandy 1944. This will take place on Sunday, December 1 at the Pennine Raiders, Belgrave Social Club, 277 Claremount Road, Halifax, West Yorkshire, HX3 6AW.

Our event will take the form of a campaign day rather than a tournament: in the historical setting of the Allied landings in Normandy, 1944. You will be encouraged to discover whether you can emulate or even outdo the achievements of the generals who commanded this campaign.

To take part you will need a 600 point force – representing a single platoon – chosen from the relevant theatre list (TBA). As this is a campaign day based upon a historical action there shall be no “Best General” award however there shall be both a Best Army (historical composition and background) and Best Painted (players choice) awards

Tickets for the day cost £10 and will include lunch; initially we are offering 10 Allied and 10 Axis places – more tickets will be released once these places have been filled.

Places are allocated on a first come basis so get your payments on to guarantee a spot!

Mods: If I've put this in the wrong place - sorry, just shift it ;D

Cheers
Ste

Sounds Good, you may have 3 or 4 of us coming over from Ripon/Knaresborough  :D

I will have to paint something though as using Home Guard might be a bit of a push  :D

My lot are North Riding though, Whitby & outlaying villages as thats what my grandad was in.

I already have the Foundry ones, but I would think that I will be buying the Warlord set too  ;)

Me too, we're still thrashing out the campaign pack and scenarios (beach landing is still in development, arghhhhhh).

Glad you're on board, if you're ever bored on a Wednesday night come on down to the club for a gander!

Thanks Keith!

Darrell you would be more than welcome. Bolt Action isn't really all that hard to learn and the day is designed to be fun (no best general award!).

However we will be awarding prizes for best army (historical platoons, background info, painting etc)

We're about 15 mins from the M62 so easy to get to and we have a nice big car park and on street parking (and a bar!)
