Hello over here !
I had been watching here for a long time, this place is full of very inspiring things !
Being a former 40k player, I had always like to use plastic in wargaming (look like being mainstream amongst now ) and there is plenty of sprue available for a lot of differents periods, which give a lot of opportunities for conversion.
Looking a this, I decided to use these sprue to produce sci-fi miniatures.
here is some samples :
First are some guns I used for the conversions : WGF survivors guns is the perfect solutions now.
I ordered some from hoardobits.

Here is the result with WGF orcs (lot of possibilities ! ) and LOTR corsairs of umbar, that are very nice too.

I am planning to convert to twenty of them before going to paint, and maybe to add tome horse riders, I see them in a back of beyond in sci fi settings.

Hello and welcome!
Those are some decent conversions: nice use of the different kits. :) Looking forward to see a few painted up.

Thank you for your reading mate.
Here is a comparison for those that are interested in scale.
I personnaly always thought that the LotR Minis were to small, as GW did them in that purpose to kept us from converting them. They are j ust the right historical scale.
Actually, You can easily cheat with the bases, and it is no more a problem.
The same things can work with all the new waves of historical plastic minis, if you are interested in converting them in something near from Rogue trader.
I really like the idea of a sci fi back of beyond, with a cossack faction :)

I have now a small band of space orcs/mutties, I just need to find the right skin colour.
I should post them soon.
For the corsairs, I need to push them more into cossacks, need a bit of GS :

Good stuff...they just released the female survivor set too, with even more guns/junk for you to play with.

Cool conversions! I like the cossak look too.
I've got a similar idea but using medieval minis and turning them into sci fi figures somehow.
