Working on something new at the moment. An Estalian Mordheim gang using old GW Empire models that also will be used as Spanish for war of religion skirmish games with a little fantasy twist. Hope you like it. :)

Love it, any old empire ogre in the pipeline?
Also, best horse paintjob I have seen (16 years of gaming).

Very nice indeed. The old Empire figures shine.

I will definitely be "borrowing" this technique!
-
Stunning!
Looking forward to the rest of the gang.
:-* :-*
-
They look great! I just glued few minis on washers yesterday for similar purpose, to start an Estalian theme MH warband, wilk be drooling over your beautiful PJs for sure.
-
Time to get me an empire warband now!! damn you lol
Very nice. Great colours you have used and great figures.
-
Great paintjob on evergreens!

Really nice job on this bunch. Are you planning any heavier conversions that will look even more distinctly Estalian? Of course there's a lot of variety in Empire figs, so there's probably not much you'd get in Estalia that hadn't been done as Empire at SOME point. :D
-
Beautiful! :-* :-* :-* :-*
-
Fantastic work. Mordheim is still one of my favorite games.

Beautiful work :-*

Thanks to all for the kind comments. :)
These old Empire minis are also one of my favorite figs. Fortunately, never had the courage to sell them ;)

I didn't want to go in a "too much fantasy" theme. The choice went for a more historical renaissance gang, so no Elves or Dwarves and such. Sorry ;)

Cool, I'll follow your thread with great interest.

You have some point also :). I've planned some Santa-Jacquo de Compostella pilgrims (just converted some shelves on GW models that can be seen here) and also planned for the near future some procession guys based on flagellants.
Just finished my greatsword to form a tercio with the other finished spanish troops and a unit of Pilgrims. Their shelves were converted with green stuff. Hope you like it.

New warband members look great! So you will be using only GW figures? And what kind of list are you using?
-
Great idea re turning the Zealots into Pilgrims.
-
Haha, looking good so far!
-
Lovely paintjob on some of the best figures from the 90s.
I like the way you paint your armour, please tell us how you do it. :)
-
Great stuff all-around!
I started collecting the GW stuff in the late '90's, and have some of those empire figs. You are inspiring me to dig them out and paint them up!
-
Grand bit of work - the pilgrim with the hand puppet was a favourite model, nice to see him here. 8) 8) 8)
-
Beautiful work - lovely looking warband. I'll have to get back to playing Mordheim - this kind of thing is very inspirational...
-
Excellent additions :-* :-*
Bring on the rest :)
cheers

Nice.
Ver nice.
Indeed.
So, there!

Thanks to all for the great comments :)
So you will be using only GW figures? And what kind of list are you using?
I do have a lot of these figures left that without any use, so I thought it would be better to recycle them in a new project. Don't really thought about the list for the moment. I simply paint and convert what models I like the most. But I suppose they will fit in some list ;)
I like the way you paint your armour, please tell us how you do it.
Here you are. Did a tutorial on my blog : http://thenutoncave.blogspot.be/2013/09/non-metallic-metal-armor-in-three-steps.html (http://thenutoncave.blogspot.be/2013/09/non-metallic-metal-armor-in-three-steps.html)
The Mordheim/renaissance warbands are almost done. Finished of a Tilean scout and started my Luccini warband that also will be used as renaisssance Napolitans. Hope you like it.

Oooh!
I like these.... :-*
The muted pallette is excellent, it works really well.
8)
-
VERY NICELY DONE! The Cloak & Dagger Guy is an especially cool piece.
-
What a great-looking warband! Echoing the comments about your palette choices.
-
Fantastico!
-
Beautiful warbands!! Really inspirational... But please, less bows and more crossbows for those Tileans!! :D
And also, do you use GW colors?
-
Thanks for the kind comments :)
The Cloak & Dagger Guy is an especially cool piece.
An old GW piece from the mid 80's. Never thought I'd find some use for it ;)
But please, less bows and more crossbows for those Tileans!!
OK, I will. Seems like Tileans use a lot of crossbows. Have to check these army lists ;)
And also, do you use GW colors?
Partially, I also use Game Color and Liquitex tubes.

Hi guys,
Finally finished my Tillean swordsmen. I've now two little warbands of renaissance guys and will try some home rules very soon. Can't wait. ;D
Hope you like them.

VERY WELL DONE! The Band of Rogues are suitably dashing.
-
They look damn fine to me, sir.
:-*
Make sure to take some pics when you test out those rules, though, wont you?
;)

All lovely

ARGH! If only I had convinced you before you found that use! ;)

Thanks guys :)

I will, but not there yet... ::)
Dam straigh I've been after him for an age, Citadel Highwayman from 1988:
Thanks for the link. I've a few models from that range. Seems difficult to find them actually. And I'll do my best to find a use for them :D
-
Only just found this thread. Both bands are great. Love the brightness of your red and yellow. I was away from the hobby when these figures came out. so a lot of these figures are new to me.Especially like the pilgrims and your painting of them is very nicely done. Hope you will be putting together some more bands.

Hi guys,
I finally finished a Procession Repenter (as a test). I started from an old GW flagellant and added some candles on his head (like in "the Monk" movie). I feel rather happy with the result, motivated to enlarge the unit. Hope you like it too.

Works a treat too :)

The devout & more than slightly unhinged Sigmarite is VERY cool & imaginative with the proper level of Mordheim bizarre. I love the candles & the brushwork/basing is OUTSTANDING. You should definitely consider enlarging the Gang...VERY WELL DONE!
-
I love paint job. Horse with small dots looks terrific :D
-
Wacky, wonderful stuff.
-
Thanks guys for the kind comments :)
I did continue with another religious devout. I worked from the same flagellant model as the repenter. Quite happy with the result as both models look very different on the tabletop.

Those figures look great! So unique from each other! Great mods.

That is a WONDERFULLY cluttered/detailed piece. All the paraphernalia add to the sinister, somewhat bizarre, generally nuts Mordheim feel. The modeling, brushwork, & base are OUTSTANDING. VERY WELL & IMAGINATIVELY DONE!
-
Both warbands are beautifully done, and the models work together nicely. They are going to look great in action.

Very cool.
I love both of them!
