Hi everyone :-)
I'm busy working on a sort of Robot / Golem.
I've only done the main body so far, but he is also going to have different removable faces to choose from and different sets of arms, like a Power fist or Giant crabs claw etc.
I was thinking of sculpting a small force of Space Orc's / Goblin Sky Pirates and this could be a Body guard or something?
What do you think so far?

Thanks

Your sculpting really is getting sharper and sharper. This looks great.
-
Looks very organic for a robot, but lovely none the less. Looking forward to updates on this.
-
Love the robot so far. The idea of Goblin Sky-Pirates is fantastic.
Just a thought. Instead of Goblin Sky-Pirates, you could also make Gremlin Sky-Pirates. Similar critters, but the gremlin has more air history.
-
I rather like that 8) 8)

Cool I love it too 8)

Nice work mate - love the organic texture, and the idea of interchangeable faces is a good one.

-
That's wonderful. I'm a fan of the face choices as well.
-
Needs interchangeable faceplates... :D
-
I hope it gets cast when finished. It looks really cool! I am sure I could use one for Rogue Trader gaming or other.
-
Thanks Everyone :)
I started on a couple of legs. There removable, but I'm not too sure about them yet :?
He is about 40mm tall
What to you think?

And an early shot of one of the arms

Thanks

The sculpting on the legs and arms look good, but to be honest, I think it looked better as a big flying face, like a future beholder og such.
:)

Good idea thanks ;)
Do you think it should still have arms?
Cheers
George

Looks great, go for legs and arms but with the option to seal them off 8)

That.
I keep thinking it looks like a/ the moon and thus keep hearing 'bad moon rising' playing in my head when I look at the pics, which isn't such a bad thing as I like both the moonbot* and the song. Good thing I still have a pot of bad moon yellow...
*hm, sounds a little rude

The more you show us, the more I like it.
I like it with legs, but making it multi-part will let people use it as a floating ball if they wish so.
I too like the texture. Looks like something that would happen to orc equipment: getting so dirty that moss and stuff starts to grow on it.
I'm looking forward to seeing this finished, and alternatives. Perhaps not just different faces, but also a completely clean and untextured robot.
-
When I first saw it I was thinking it was some kind of security droid. Hovering around scanning peoples eyes and/or hand prints, to chose who goes into the upper levels of the bio labs.
lol
I would like one with no arms and legs. Maybe some small arms with tools or scaners and such, coming out of small doors, like R2D2.
I might still want one if it gets arms and legs anyway :) It has a good gritty sci-fi feel to it, not too clean and hard sci-fi.
-
Thanks again for all the feedback :)
Just a quick update, I've finished one arm and a few different faces.
I have still got a load of different idea's for this piece :)
What do you think so far?
Orcish Face for Orc Dreadnought

Moonbot ( Cheers for the idea Ink :) )
and a Fishbot lol

They're all brill 8) 8)
When somebody buys it to cast and sell could you let us know who on this thread?
cheers
James

That's brilliant!
-
Is it wrong of me that I immediately wanted 5 of the fish version for Nurgle Terminators in 40K?
-
Fishface looks ace!
-
Wow, this is awesome! I really loved the orc face, but the fish one even beats that. Great work!
-
They're all full of character. Fishbot definitely isn't the kind of thing you want to meet at/ in the pool and also makes me wonder- does anyone sell Deep Ones in powered armour?
-
George, fishbot is amazing. :o
I little fifth element too. Look great in bronze and gold.
-
Thanks for the feedback everyone :)
Once I complete a few more arms, he will be available from from Fenris Games.
Thanks
George
-
Almost modronlike...

Excellent mate well done.
-
Fishbot is great.
Moonbot makes me laugh out loud with happiness - a wonderful nod to the Lumiere Brothers.
-
Fantastic! Im really digging the fishbot :-*

This would be great. I have a skirmish force of odd stuff that will enthusiastically enlist fishface.
-
Oh my. They're all grand, especially fish & moon - I have an urge to get one of the latter (they will be on sale, will they?) to go with my 2mm scale GSF* lot, representing the moon coming down to earth for revenge on getting shot in the eye.
*Georgian (V) science fiction, as the force includes Renault WWI tanks.

George already posted Paul: Fenris Games have picked it up.

I spotted that Fenris are going to get it :) Its more that it would be cool to be informed when the production version will be available. I sometimes lose track of some if the gems shown here in the time between the green and the final piece.
It would be a pity to lose track of a model this unique :)

Ian will no doubt be quick on turnaround I reckon. I'll be over to see him sometime in October so will keep an eye out.
-
Would go well with some of these: http://studio-junger.fr/shop/k-series_3_.html
-
Very cool. I think fishface works best with the body/arms. A pulpish sea drone or underwater army etc.
-
Love all the faces, especially the fishface, but am I the only one that thinks it need a big floppy tail? :D
-
Fishbot equals 100% win.
-
Thanks :)
I've done a few more arms for this piece,
what do you think?
( Sorry about the crappy pictures :( )

Very nice. Im glad that a tentacle arm will be included as it suits the use thag I have planned, but the hand and gun look great too.
Do you have a shot if the model alongside a 28mm figure by any chance? Im not quite sure how big it is.

He is about 40mm tall. I'll photo him next to a human once I get back home.

what do you think?
I think you should cast it! :D

They all look great :-* :-* :-*
I'd be interested to know what Fenris are going to do, wether all the bits will be included or you get to choose when ordering?
cheers

Come really late to the thread; just glad I wasn't the only one thinking metal 'beholder'.
REALLY damn impressive, and I don't have to wait, wondering if it will every be available! lol
Sad, isn't it? I want with all the varieties, and I'm not sure what for. :-*

All done then? ;)
-
Do you have a version of this guy with both arms ending in hands? I like a robot with two hands. Even if they're fish-bots apparently. :?
-
Did this model ever make it into production?
I cant find it at Fenris. I would really like to get my hands on one or two of them.

Due for release early next year.
