Envy, envy, envy! Say, did I get those British colonials from you, or am I confusing things? I might just have to break them out after seeing yours...

Just fantastic Dominic....
I have selected 60 Sudanese until now and started cleaning up 20 Fuzzis.

Lots of work left...

Thanks guys!

@Chris - yes, you are right.  I sold you some Old Glory Sudan minis.  These are from the later Omdurman campaign.  The ones I am doing now are Perry Minis to represent the earlier Gordon Relief expedition.

@Prof - you can never have too many Fuzzies!!  The more the better!!

@Driscoles - which company are your Fuzzies from?

Dom, i'm going to paint some Fuzzies for the game  :D

No idea how many, for the moment 1-2 units.

Post by: Driscoles on November 12, 2006, 12:45:19 PM
Hi,

my Fuzzis are from Old Glory... I can hear the complaints from other people right now but I dont think they are such bad. Sure the Perrys look better but in my opinion only slightly and I bought my Ansars, Fuzzi and Rifle Skirmishers 7 years Ago. There were not so much  choices for a poor guy like me.
In other words I like my OG`s

@Driscoles - OG's are generally OK.  The only problem is that you have to buy such a big bag of them!  Look forward to seeing the first pics of the enemy!!

:D Can't wait to see the fuzzies painted up.  As for Old Glory, i have a lot of their stuff and am quite happy with it.  There are some rough figs as well, but not every fig can be a show stopper.

I will try to do 40 of them in red.
After that a couple of artillery and high command.
Then maybe I will come back to red infantry (or should I do them in grey)? :freak:

Great looking bunch of men there :D!

I've just ordered my own squad of redcoats from perry's, no idea when they'll be here though, so I'll just try to fill the time waiting with getting my paint orders through. Any idea on how long the perry lads take with sending an order within Europe?

What paints do you use? Foundry?

Thanks Pax!
My experience with Perry has been good.  They normally take about a week to deliver.
I use mainly Vallejo and some GW paints.

Excellent Dominic. Do you have vacation ? You are painting fast.
I just have finnished the bases of my Sudanese.
First troop is ready. . I will post pictures tomorrow or on monday.
Now I will watch boxing.

Besides...I decided to order some Sudanese from the Perries. Not much though but some Leaders, Musicians and Standard Bearers.

Cheers Mate

Post by: dominic on November 25, 2006, 10:08:47 PM
Thanks Bjoern.
No vacation, but I am using every free moment to paint!
No time for TV or anything else, just paint, paint, paint!!

Also, I am using some short-cuts now eg - less shading, don't bother so much about mistakes in places that are hard to see and so on.

Fantastic work Dominic and in such a short time. I know you have a busy job and here you show all wargamers who say they have no time to paint that they are false. Its only a question of organisation.
Hats off.

I try everything to get 60 Sudanese ready until we meet !

More Sikhs.  These guys are painted in the uniform of the 15th Bengal Infantry who were in action around Suakin and Tamai in 1885.  These Sikhs fought with distinction together with the Berkshires and a detachment of the Naval Brigade while defending a zareba (hollow square lined with thorn bushes) against more than 5000 Mahdists.

Hi,

We dont have a Problem.
We will not have 140 Mahdists.

With a little Luck I will do 60 in total !

20 Fuzzi Wuzzi with  Swords 20 Ansar with Swords and 20 With Rifle.

Plus Dominics 20 Spears

Plus your 8

And Grimms Arabs. I know he has some with Rifles.

I know that Dom wants to play with all his Britts, but why not start with smalles numbers ?

An why not make smaller Units. Instead of 20. Maybe 15. That is possible with the Rules.

I dont see any problems :o)

Cheers

Sounds Great!
With some luck, I will also have another 40 spears painted up by next week.

So with Bjoern's figures, we will have about 120 Mahdists.

Can I interest the Prof to finish 12 more Mahdists to complete his unit?

So, looks like everything will be alright.  No problem at all! :D
