Great job again, Zoogla, but nothing compares to those dwarves!
-
Beautifully done Zoogla. Exceptional painting (as usual) combined with a great scene. :-* :-* :-*
-
Zoogla my friend
I know your painting style and I am sure you done the Figures very well but I can´t see any face or small detail !
By such a good painter like you are I anticipate some close ups from faces or detailsand it is not a big work to do that .
The Senery is nice and the wood on the sledge is stunning but the Admiral show more bravery with that close picture of the dwarves and BTW the franzy look of the wizard is also stunning .
So I have to go for the dwarves , (please don´t kill me in July ,chap )
Grimm

Thank you Overlord :-)
Although I am quite happy with my winter setting (did anyone notice by now, why it's called 'strange encounter'?), I have to admit that Grimm is right (I'll kill him in July nevertheless lol), I went too much for a scenery approach this time, too little details can be seen. But since the audience in this forum likes nice setups I had to give it a try even risking to lose votes in favor to exact closeups. The Dwarves are really cool, so maybe next round there will be close ups again!
Thanks for your votes guys ;-)

Yes! Grand idea - someone is too far south - or is it the other way round? 8) 8)
Grand work by both, anyway.

As there are no trees in Antarctica, those must be cute penguins errant. ;)
I really like the setting-approach, thus in order to keep it coming (even from such marvellous painters like Zoogla who excel at details) I have to vote for the Encounter.
Apart from that, the dwarves are very cool - who produces/d them?
-
Hey Grimm,
would be careful messing with Zoogla, someone who even survived a headshot once when reuniting with his old Barstown gang members (the nightmare of all East Hamburg citizens :-) (if I find that X-ray of the bullet I will post it later, maybe Z. has it somewhere?) ...

Grimm, I never said you are scared of Zoogla.
I know you are a sick boy and I know you are a
"Bam" streetfighter from "Hamburg 56"

Once upon a time, ages ago, there was a very small company named Citadel Miniatures who sold small lead figures, even with integrated lead bases :o Later they dropped the lead bases for ugly slices of plastic and their name for Games Workshop :( , and today they produce (sometimes ugly) plastic armies and from time to time some additional lead minitures to support them o_o
The first Citadel range of Dwarfs from the blue catalogue contained the standard bearer group, shortly afterwards followed by the dwarven wizards, the horrified one and the casualty. Ahhh, those were the times when miniatures were full of character ... :-*

Polar Bears and Penguins...? That the Arctic and Antarctic at the same time... (and yes the trees are also a wee bit strange :D)

Well, why do you think he called it "STRANGE Encounter"?
Lovely piece. My favourite of the round. The dwarves are rather splendid, too, but just a bit too garish for my taste.

I need Penguins for my fresh Rumble in Antarctica Rulebook, who sells these?
-
Hi Assi!
The Penguins are from the Copplestone range. YOu can find them here:

Who said you can't! 8) In my perfect world everyone would live in harmony 8) Oh and the animals win! :-*

However, since penguins are very smart and clever birds, they have been trained to scout the terrain for obstacles, before human arrive!
On the other hand they be imported form the antipodes and used as hunting dogs ...sorry penguins
-
Furthermore Copplestone has 2 packs of penguins.
Mega miniatures has a pack of them, Miscatonic Expedition also sports one other, so there is some variety.
By the way why all of us paint penguins (or is it pinguins?) as Emperor pinguins and not other species?
