Got a shiny new blog so I thought I would use it as an excuse to show off my Life on Mars figures. As I say in the blog, Crooked Dice made their own figure range in less time than it took me to paint these figures...

I know the figures may not be to everyone's taste but I really think they paint up nicely, not too much work and they have tons of character. No disrespect at all to Killer B, but I do think the images on the their site could be a bit more flattering.
If I have one caveat. This sort of thing leads to die cast collecting. Since buying these I have got me an Audi Quattro and more squad cars than I have coppers... ;)

Excellent paintwork. I like the figs too, they've got charm 8)

Nice brush work!

Sublime painting, especially the burberry kipper tie! :-*

Very nice brush work. You've really done those figures justice.

Nice job, I really like the work on the faces, specially the white shoes guy

Thanks folks.
And Overlord, ace table and a fine example of wargames escalation. :D

Beautiful paint jobs! That table is really nice, too. :)

:o Those are amazing. Life on Mars is my wife's favorite show, ever. (Might have something to do with Sam.) I bought these miniatures a couple years ago, and only got the Annie one painted. Since then the Crooked Dice figures have come out and now I have even more figures and nothing to show for it. And here you are, ready to game...
Actually, do you have any bad guys done for this yet?
-
Lovely painting, I really do love that range of figures as well as the GAFDOZ line. You've certainly brought out the best in those figures.
-
Excellent painting skills on display here! Couple of questions? How did you do the camel coat on 'Not Gene'? Also, I can never get blonde hair right on a mini...how did you manage to make it look so good?

No. But I do have a grubby transit van...lol

Thanks.
Figure had a black undercoat.
Camel coat. Start with a base of P3 Rucksack Tan and keep adding a boney colour to highlight until the lightest areas are pure bone. I used Army Painter bone, but any of the bleached bone variants will do. I think I may have used a thin glaze of Vallejo Model Colour(VMC) Brown Glaze to darken the deepest recesses.
Blonde Hair. VMC English uniform base. Then add a sandy colour. I used VMC Dark Sand. Paint on a 50/50 mix, then a layer of pure Dark Sand, then mix VMC Pale sand 50/50 with the Dark Sand for a highlight, finally a few highlights of pure pale sand on the highest areas where the light should be hitting.

Hi guys
Craig from Killer B Games here. Sorry about the problems with the website. We have been having problems with it for a while and as such my 'website guy' is in the process of switching servers. Until then you can PM me if you would like to order anything and I can send you a PayPal invoice. A full listing can be found on our U.S. stockist's website.

My gaff. My toys. My rules. Quattro is a prettier car. So shattitt you scrote. lol
Temporal anomaly. They will mostly fight daleks and cybermen anyway. When my lot play 7tv it can get strange. Once we had Our Man Flint fighting Tintin in a nuclear missile base. Snowy killed most of the ZOWIE operatives...I didn't plan it that way.

Lol that's what happens when you strap mini cannon saddle bags to the little runt! ;)

I wish. That would have made a bit more sense.
I had set up a spy-fi game and one of the players who shall remain unnamed bought along a Tin Tin gang, Thompson twins, cpt Haddock - the lot. We let him play cos we are nice but the dog was a close combat psychopath. Running round biting everyone, evading gunfire and generally causing doggie mayhem.
No pictures were taken. Which is a shame.

Simple: snowy was armed with twin side mounted mini guns. It was a joke..... ::)

Merely words on a screen about toys I like Mr Vyper. Why the need to be all hostile and eye rolly? Did I somehow offend you by suggesting your joke may have been preferable to what actually happened? WTF?

Oh. Thought it was some kind of dig and bemused as to what I had done(I am from the 18th century and relatively new to all this social media on difference engines). Wondered where I had been bad and was considering joining frothers since if I can cause a ruck on leadadventure without even knowing it maybe I should go there. lol!
So hugs all round with no one wounded! Yay!
Anyway to keep this on track.
Here is a picture of this cast's consulting detective. A terrible photo but at least it is about figures.
Black Pyramid figures I believe.

Lovely paintbrush skills. Still find the Wpc frightening to look at, not your paint skills but something to do with the sculpt and a run in with a wraf copper when I was a wee scalybrat
-
Those are really nice paint jobs, the faded jeans and leather jacket on blondie look superb. Even better than the ties on your first lot.

Excellent painting. Have just ordered a bunch of Geezers on the strength of your pics.
And yeah, I know what you mean, I spent nearly all yesterday afternoon on ebay. Got an XJ12, a Capri, an E-Type and a Bedford van. Missed an Escort and a police Jaguar. It was almost more fun than gaming.
-
It took a bit of sorting but the Killer B Games website is back up and running.

Nice!

Now I have to toss you into the Hellfire of Damnation!!! Why do you have to paint so nice? Why do you have to pick the coolest characters from British TV? Why did I click on this link? WHY ME????? lol
Outstanding brushwork on "Not-Life on Mars" and "Not-Holmes and Watson" now I have to get those at some point... DAMN YOU!!!
-
Nice additions of Holmes and Watson. :D
