Title: 4Ground Dead Man's Hand Buildings.
Post by: philhendry on October 30, 2013, 01:45:59 PM
Hi Guys,

Here are my attempts, so far, at 4Ground's buildings.

I might make a 'coming soon' banner to stick on the front of the building frame.

I need to edit the signs on this last one, to get a better colour match, but otherwise it's all done.

I don't quite build them 'as supplied' - I 'touch up' the paint on most of the visible cut edges, and I do some work on the roofs to make them look less like laser-cut MDF - either by adding shingles (also from 4Ground), or 'tar paper'.

Cheers,
Phil

Nice stuff Phil. I have two of the smaller side street buildings and ended up respraying both as I didn't like the colours. I also ended up hand painting the signs, which doesn't look as sharp as yours, I have to admit.  :D

Reminds me I need to get a base set for my under construction buildings.

Lookin' good Phil -- are the shingles the 4Ground new ones, or something else?

Thanks!  The shingles are from this range: http://www.4ground.co.uk/Default.aspx?page=249 (http://www.4ground.co.uk/Default.aspx?page=249)

Okay, thought so - they look pretty good.  Might have to check them out.

Very nice modelling and painting - a real improvement over the basic ones.

How did you do your signs?  They look great.

Thanks lads!

The signs are drawn in an illustration package (Intaglio http://www.purgatorydesign.com/Intaglio/ (http://www.purgatorydesign.com/Intaglio/)) on my Mac, and printed out at high resolution on matt photo paper.
