Here's a first build up of a Walker I'm working on for VSF.
It's a modded Starship Troopers kit with some bits from an HO scale Stephenson's Rocket!

Your a master of conversions. 8)

:-* Beautiful!
-
The lanterns make it.
-
:-*
good grief - I'm thinking of at least 5 different colour scheme which would all make it look spectacular - heck, it looks spectacular unpainted! 8) 8) 8)
-
superb stuff. I look forward to seeing this painted
-
Have you signed some sort of pact with the Devil, or were you dropped on your head as a child? lol
Another wonderful model :o 8)

I am so going to steal this idea, it looks great!
-
Not bad, not bad............. something isn't quite right though............... something that's just not 'there'.................. aha!
Needs More Rivets!!! lol

INDEED!!! A lot more rivets! The legs look a bit too manga/modern, so rivets would definitely improve.
But of course I like it very much, even without rivets! :-* lol

I've said it before and i'll say it again-'Blimey Charlie'!!!!!!! Great stuff!
-
All I can say is that this is a work of pure genius. I can't wait to see the completed model.
-
Very nice work!
-
Thanks for the comments!
I've taken on board feedback given and have a pin-drill and some fine plastic rod to add some rivets!!!
I'll post some pics when I've completed the build.

Looking forward to seeing this completed. If its anything like the motorcycle we are in for a treat. :)
-
Very nice indeed. As it happens, I've just finished a similar contraption of my own (great minds are alike... :D). I have posted some pics in a new topic (this one being rightfully reserved for Pappa's effort). The interesting thing is that I also used SF walker legs (from the Airfix range), but came up with a totally different body.

Nice work!!

Hmm. Lovely work, but I'm afraid that doesn't look the slightest bit Victorian to me, even with the boiler and lamps.
It looks like a futuristic walker with a boiler and some lamps stuck on it. Maybe the rivets and paint-job will bring it to life in a Victorian way?
Sorry. I don't want to be a downer, but I do want to be honest.
Edit: I just took a look at your finished low-rider and was bowled over by it. It has led me to reconsider. I think I was a little hasty just now, so please disregard what I just said. I shall wait until it is finished before getting on my high horse again. :)

Excellent, Sir! :o ;D
I envy your skills!
-
Thank you all for the comments and feedback!
I've added some rivets and a Victorian gent at the controls.
I will probably go afor a Black and Brass colour scheme to fit in with my bike.

I think the rivets give it a less "Futuristic" feel, what do you think?

I think I need the dropped-jaw smilie... grand.... just grand..... 8) 8) :o 8) 8)

I agree with Plynkes' comment but did not have a problem accepting this as you intended it. The rivets and the pilot have addressed it exceptionally well and I think when you paint it it will move on again.
It is a wonderful piece of work and one you should be extremely proud of - I know I would be.
-
Can't wait to see it painted!

The pilot does it for me, excellent. :)
-
Excellent - the rivits certainly help to make it look more victorian, and the pilot is perfect for the model. Can't wait to see the painted version.

Speechless :-X

A real cool conversion. Gratulation!
I wish I would have a good idea myself for VSF or Pulp... :'(
-
:o Looking great mate, it'll look great next to I.K.B and his bike.
Cheers

This looks superb.

I finally found some time to finish my walker!
I chose the same colour scheme as my Steam Bike to fit in with IKB's Extraordinary Mercenary Unit.

Fantastic! :-*
I second that!
Lovely base, by the way.

Yes, splendid old boy. Cucumber sandwich? 8)
-
:o :o That's awesome mate, the paint job finishes it off lurvely. You won't have trouble getting to the head of the queue for tea and cream cakes in that one that's for sure lol lol
I promise not to drool over the top of it at the weekend, too much.
Cheers

As I already said on TMP: I liked the photoshopped version better lol lol lol lol (Joke, sir, joke!!!! - lovely piece, I hate my steamspider will have to destroy it, but that's life: her Majesty commands...).

Jolly good show, old boy!
You may have just inspired me to take the old oxy-acetelyne to my own walker! (It's already converted, but with sci-fi in mind, I like your incarnation better....)
-
Its alright I suppose, nothing particularly special about it... :o lol
Top drawyer Pappa, up to your usual spectacular standards. Now must think how to entice you up to Teddington for some vsf fun ::)
-
Rather good dear boy, rather good.
-
That off-balance pose really makes the whole model come to life. Goregeous, PM. Has it got a name? The Fisticuffsman? The Masonic?
-
:o :-* Inspiring stuff.
-
Thank you all for the comments! I'm glad you like it.
Now I've done one it'll be easier to do another.... :D

Awesome work Pappa :-*

I hate to sound like a broken record, but it really is spectacular.
Your conversion-fu is strong.

Pappa Midnight, where did you get the Stephenson Rocket you used for the boiler?
I could see all kinds of uses for a kit like that...
Bye, Erik

Hi Erik,
It's an OO/HO scale plastic kit by "Dapol" ( model number C46). I picked up a couple in my local model shop.
