We are pleased to announce that we have reached our 5th stretch goal which means we have unlocked the Infantry storming party, casualties, mounted staff officers and horse command and troopers to add to our initial advancing Infantry, we are close to unlocking the Swedish Artillery which would be great as it would mean we can produce all three arms at once.
Anybody interested in the Great northern war just follow the link to our kickstarter and maybe we can get those guns.

This is an excellent kick starter and a great opportunity to get a really cool army, more importantly it's an opportunity to give support to one of the smaller manufacturers in this hobby

Would it be feasible to pledge for this Kickstarter but choose blisters from your WSS range instead of the GNW range? I’m not really interested in the GNW but my Front Rank French WSS Army is looking for someone to fight ;)

Hi Calimero
I have a number of deals on my WSS figures so why not just use the 5 4 4 deal on infantry or the army builder cavalry deal to build your army and save money.
cheers Nick

Fingers crossed for the artillery :)

So with all the arms now having been unlocked, which rules do people plan to use?

Probably Black Powder at this stage so I can have the make-up of the battalion as I see fit.
Cheers,
Helen

It's also on my list :)
Anyone here tried Under Lily Banners?
-
I'll take that as a no then lol lol

Oops, I saw your post ages ago but forgot to answer.
Me and my gaming group was in the playtest group for the second edition Beneath the Lily Banners (it changed fron Under to Beneath prior to the printing of first edition), so I guess I'm a bit biased.
I like the rules a lot (surprise!) and we have played several medium to large games with several players per side (some as young as 13) and it has always worked great.
We always play GNW with them and the swedes are really really hard!
On the downside there can be a bit much looking at tables and counting modifiers which can be frustrating for newbies at least.
If you have any questions just ask!
Here's a link to our Gadebusch 1712 battle report (not much of a report to be honest...but lots of pictures!)

Great, the battle report is really useful.
I guess I'm torn on unit size. I used to use the WSS variant of Age of Reason, but missed the big battalions. So drifted away. Are BLB foot units generally about 18 models?
-
I have units with anything from 12 to 24 miniatures, it doesn't really matter as long as unit frontages are somewhat similar.
Rules-wise though (for taking casualties, combat dice and so on) a unit always counts as 18 miniatures.
It's similar for cavalry, a squadron (counting as two real squadrons) is made up of 6 miniatures.

Many thanks - looks like they are worth a looksee :)

Forgot to throw in a link to the authors blog
http://leagueofaugsburg.blogspot.se/?m=1 (http://leagueofaugsburg.blogspot.se/?m=1)
It's more about the period than the game it self but has a lot of useful information, and a few articles concerning the GNW.
There should be an article about the Battle of Helsingborg in 1710 published there really soon written by yours truly.
I'll stop this shameless self-promoting right now ;) lol

Thanks for the pointers. I'm on their forum and have enjoyed your posts there :D
