Meet Schwangi, Mighty Ruler of the Land that Time forgot and Cousin-in-Law of the infamous Gwangi. I mean, we all know big dinosaurs had tiny brains, so how innovative may they have been about selecting names...

It´s a hard plastic toy from the "Natural History Museum Collection", which I bought at Frankfurt´s Senckenberg Museum in the very early nineties (Summer 91 or 92, IIRC). I spray-based it using outdoor spray paint, then painted it using washes and drybrushs of Vallejo, with a final coat of artists glossy varnish to get that slightly glistening look.
The figure is a Foundry Adventurer added for scale.

That is exactly the way a pulp dino should look--big, lumpy, and dragging his tail!

Obelisk Amazons! Sadly, the skin finish, while very nice in real life, didn´t work out well in the photograph. I hope to do some "action shots" soon, with surrounding terrain and more "ambient" light, so maybe those´ll be better.

@Pete Murray: Isn´t he just darling?!? That was exactly the reasoning - the body build is more like what current research suggests, but the pose is sooo pulp-style.
