As a young lad born in the '70's
I Thought you were older than that ;) :D
Looking forward to seeing how your project develops. :)
Why are your cars still in boxes? o_o
I Thought you were older than that ;) :D
great start.. look forward to the expansion
Sorry, Mason, but that made me chuckle in an outright filthy fashion! :D
Upsheet Creek - it's another winner!
I look forward to dipping my toe into this one - it's a eenre that's interested me for some time.
"Reach for 'em, ya varmint!"
Looking gooood :)
very nice stuff already! :)
Welcome to the dark side Mason, I will be following this thread closely. I can highly recommend the Fist Full of Lead rules.
Cheers,
Za
Great job Mason, you have managed to one up me again! Making me look bag bro! and we was both born in the 70s!
I agree growing up watching Lone Ranger, Gunsmoke, Rifleman, Bonanza, Wild Wild West, etc as well as John Wayne, Clint Eastwood and Charles Bronson westerns was key to my childhood....well along with Saturday morning cartoons, Battlestar Galatica, Star Trek, Lost in Space, Space 1999, Dr Who....damm no wonder I am a geek!
Looking forward to seeing more....I need to get off my arse and either build or buy some MDF....
(But no, I'm DEFINITELY not doing cowboys!)
(But no, I'm DEFINITELY not doing cowboys!)
Bet you would if the Perries brought out a plastic boxed set of them.. ;)
Excellent start! You already have more buildings than my own Schitte Creek lol I shall be watching this thread with interest. I love all of the Wild West projects on this board. Everyone is different and great in its own way. Great for inspiration.
Edit: only just noticed the name if your town lol very similar to my own. Must be neighbours on the same creek.
Really looking forward to seeing how the town (great name by the way) comes out
I am sure that with your master touch they'll look better than I could ever have managed
Awesome stuff. Can't wait to see how this pans out!
Looking good young Paolo!
(But no, I'm DEFINITELY not doing cowboys!)
... Which is not to say I won't be tempted into a game with yours and your grandpa's ;)
(But no, I'm DEFINITELY not doing cowboys!)
Bet you would if the Perries brought out a plastic boxed set of them.. ;)
Yeah right ;)
Makes me want to restart my wild west collection. Great work! I hear this is the town without a paddle or a boat. lol
Mason is doing Old West. We are doomed guys ... all our projects will now looks futile.
Hmmm.
Possibly then, yes :D
Hi fella,
I see what you mean, these look awesome. I hope you did not pay "A fist full of dollars" for these... :D.
After watching all of Deadwood I have some ideas about how I would like my cowboys to look, and what I would like in my prospector gang.
What rules re you looking at using?
Just to prove that I did get the bugger finished.
:D
Well I was beginning to wonder.
It looks good in B&W, now looking forward to seeing it in Glorious Texhnicolour(like what the Westerns you watched in your youf were filmed in)
:)
Awesome fella. Now fill it with money for me to steal 8)
Looking reel purty old timer. :)
Wow Mason! Great thread! I somehow ,missed this one!
(I guess I need to check the Old West threads more often!)
Very cool!
:-*
COOL LOOKING STUFF & NAME! The Bank is a FINE adaptation of the original piece...& a focal point for nefarious activities. AND it gives me another thread to follow.
Looks superb! Can't wait to see the gunsmith's and sheriff's based too!
i loved the building before, but now it looks that bit more special!! :)
Aye. Top work. Can't help thinking it needs a hitching post tho.
So you're doing Old West now too! I might have accidentally bought 30 Artizan cowboys and a few buildings from e-bad a while ago and I've been busy scribbling and planning. I've resisted adding to it and then you do this! lol The bank looks great; I like the setting on the base, I hadn't thought to do that but now I see it done it looks good.
I sense another successful foray into a new genre for you!
Very nice Mason. Now paint some cowboys :D
Looks lovely,Paul
Thanks for bringing my humble effort to this level,it looks fantastic :-*
Right on Paul, you've succumbed to the OW setting. Smashing good show, I need some inspiration and some propper good builds to provide my little mind with possibilities. Glad that Brian's mum has setup shop in the Creek, but it does look a little bare of other folks ;)
I may have missed it Mr Mason, but what will you use as a board? Will the buildings all sit next to each other like mordheim or will you do a board to fill in between?
Forgot you had this table. Looks just the ticket.
Have you any natural terrain features?
lol
Bubbles...?
I assume you mean Bibbles, but Bubbles is good too.
:D
(That does not mean that he wont have already started building the whole West coast already. It is probably in the cupboard with the wizards tower.... ::)).
:D
Excellent Paul, I have high hopes for this thread 8) ...........High Hopes, that's a good name for a western town lol
.........High Hopes, that's a good name for a western town lol
Excellent Paul, I have high hopes for this thread 8) ...........High Hopes, that's a good name for a western town lol
The livery stable will fit in nicely.
I'm getting confused with all the Bibbles, Bubbles and Bobbles stuff now!
Never underestimate the power of a good name. I would have missed this thread only for the locations great title :)
Great work here Mason. The livery is particularly nicely painted. Im looking forward to seeing the lot all together.
The livery is beautiful...and again serves to remind me that is one major feature I do not have... :`
Nice work Old Timer. I especially like the broken down gate, ;D
That is a lovely building
That's another gorgeous building Paolo. Wel done. You are giving Bibbly a run for his money!
Anyways, I finished the Bank today.
Then I took some pictures and could not get the damn flash to stop going off.
I carried on regardless, but they all came out crap.
I shall try again tomorrow when the Missus is there to show the trained monkey (me... ::)) how to use the camera properly.
Here is one of the photos, darkened and turned into monochrome with the Edit function so that it does not look so bad.
Here is a much-doctored picture, trying to get the colours right, rather than the blurry washed-out effect that I managed...
Proper piccies tomorrow.
:D
I think I will play a bunch of no-hoper outlaws - the Rumpo Kid and his gang. We put the desperate into desperadoes, except it isn't there, erm...
I can't see any cash point - what kind of cowboy operation are Upsheet Creek banking trying to pull here? >:(
great looking livery! i like the barrels too, where are they from?
I can't see any cash point - what kind of cowboy operation are Upsheet Creek banking trying to pull here? >:(
I dont think James has ever been tempted by Old West, even though Mama Mute has probably tried to tempt him in the past.
My amazing wife is getting me supplies to kitbash/scratchbuild a train for Christmas, Mrs Bertrand is great. Or should I say I'm gathering materials and putting her name on it ;)
Now a train sound slike a great idea! That will be one sweet scenic piece - I look forward to seeing more!
Apparently we'll be doing the Lone Ranger at some point...
Apparently...
Lovely buildings by the way 8)
Is he trying to get you to dress up in that Tonto outfit again...?
:D
He didn't take much convincing ;)
Apparently the Lone Ranger kept a few silver dollars tucked aside for when he visited his exceptionally tall cherokee mistress in the whore house. It was high hoe silver...
*ducks thrown objects, departs* :D
Just seen this Paul - Fab Start to the project..
ummm...should I go west after Shedwood?
NICE JOB on the board! It has a West Texas look to it...The Hill Country & East Texas are different Beasties entirely.
Yeeeeeeeehaaaaaaaaaaaaaaw! :D
It looks right purty pardner. :-*
You're really pushing me down the line of moving on with my own Old West project.
Nice. :D
Looking forward to seeing how the board turns out.
Wow Paul, as I read your post I was expecting the whole board to break into pieces, seems lady luck was shining on you that day. I hope she isn't a cruel mistress and ruin all your careful re-basing efforts.
Well, when will we get to see Elkvillle then....?
:D
oooh! Nice one Paul. No coffins or head stones out the back? ;)
I like the idea of a hardware store.
Bunnings (large superstore hardware chain in Aus, a little irony is always fun.)
Eric's Shed?
I thought Eric's shed may hit the spot ;) lol
I vote Eric's Shed: The Finest in Ladies Undergarments
Paul - you have full permission to build Eric's Shed !! lol
I like the grubby windows, nice touch 8)
cheers
James
I like the grubby windows, nice touch 8)
Yeah, a lovely touch. :)
It may not be as fancy as the witch hunter charter house Eric, but when you play a game you won't have to fight for it. ;) lol
Where does Brian's mum come from?
Love it...very nicely done!
Fantastic mate. Weathering works a treat 8)
Is this going to be Erics Shed? I approve :D
Brians Mum aint in any of the Foundry Mexican packs. ( I am sure I have them all) and she is not in the Perry's Spanish civilians pack either... ???
Your base style and colour look very similar to mine. Combining your buildings with mine we could create a massive town for a multi player spectacular shoot out at next years BLAM ( or sooner for a one day mini BLAM) worth thinkin' on. ;)
Massive Cowboy game at Blam sounds fun....
Upsheet Creek is looking bloody brilliant so far! Almost makes me wish I'd kept the buildings :)
Keep up the good work Mr Mason
lol
Giles will be pleased
Beautiful work. lol
Very nice indeed :)
The sign looks SPLENDID! As a bonus, Eric the Shed will now be immortalized in miniature...how appropriate. WELL DONE!
More loveliness Mason!
You can do some Weird West games with your other minis as well!
:-* :-* :-* lol
That's brilliant Mason, just spot on!
Happen to have any left handed screw drivers or tartan paint in store? ;)
Looks great mate, the signs just finish it off (for now) perfectly :-*
Very nice Mason, just very nice :o
Thanks, Za!
I just need to get some figures sorted soon as we have our first game very soon....
I am very proud :D
Thank you Paul...
That looks great :-* :-* :-*
How do you make your signs?
Works a charm mate 8)
So thats how you did the wood grain on the sign, Very clever very clever indeed.
I may have to give that a go. I wasn't sure how my freehand sign writing would go in 1/52 ;)
great stuff! thanks for the tutorial on sign making most interesting! :)
Cheers
Thanks.
You do make it look very simple.
Yeah. Comparing the two it is pretty clear which turns out more finished. I'd have thought freehand would have been more individual and distinguished. But I was wrong. Thanks for the lesson Paul, I'll put it to use on my gun shop.
Looks great -when do I move in - do you have an Eric the Shed mini?
Nice work on the signs!
For a suitably sophisticated looking proprietor for Eric the Shed's store perhaps the Dixon preacher would work (the well dressed one, not the crazy one with the gun)? He could be carrying a store ledger or something?:
http://www.dixon-minis.com/shop/old-west-25mm/WG104/
That is a TERRIFIC looking Water Tower...are you going to have a railroad going through town? Be that as it may, I look forward to your improvements.
Great progress Paul, I've really enjoyed having a catch up. :)
Mason- simple genius on the signage mate, a winner once again. You just have a remarkable instinct for these things, as you just get it right every time. Well done mate. The water tower is looking superb also.
It ain't just Bullock who's clumsy twunt - I have to put my hand up to that one too. Unfortunately, in the process of putting me hand up I've had a load of stuff off the shelf beside me and it's all over the floor now...
:o
Let's hope I don't live up to my claim when we play on Saturday. I can't wait to go Upsheet Creek with a couple of friends - let's ride into town and shoot up the sheriff. Ooh, matron
;D
Bertie
Gamers mate, you can't trust them lol
Ooh, matron
;D
Bertie
It's funny you should say that Bert. I've taken to laughing like Sid James every time I pick upy Mexicans at the happy thought of satetdays shoot out.
Everything looks great Mason. It's really inspired me to crack on with my painting.
Good man yourself!
This is all coming along very very nice Mason. Just be aware that buildings are just the beginning... There is detritus, wagons, horses, cowboys, civilians, outlaw, law... ;) ;)
You just don't now yet what you got yourself into lol
Cheers,
Za
Oh, I do, Za. I do!
I already have LOADS of the above, including seven wagons and a damn train!
lol Trust me it will even get more worse lol
Can we please have a preview of all the kit you have so far Mason... I'd especially like a looky at that train ;)
That's pretty much the train set I have! I bought it about 2 years ago for my ACW set up.
Cheers Paul, it's good to see where your heading … and how much longer you can uphold a rapid output of scenery. Quite a while lol
Managed to miss this thread somehow; it's all looking very impressive.
Looking forward to seeing the "magic" touch on the train.
RMZ
New Orleans Greys no less. Great stuff :D ;D
What a plucky lass going up against the banditos single handed. Looks like it was a "blast" for most lol
Great batrep Mason!
Again, I am very jealous at the amount of quality gaming you do!
:D
COOL LOOKING game, Town, & minis...not necessarily in that order. GREAT STUFF...Pilgrim!
Playing already :o
Great stuff Paul - your productivity is impressive AND you are gaming as well! 8)
Great stuff Paul - your productivity is impressive AND you are gaming as well! 8)
Am looking forward to watching it all come together :D
I know, it sickens me! :D
Bloody hell you didn't waste any time picking him up. :o
Lovely brushwork on a beautifully sculpted figure :D
From a great range of figures too. ;)
Wot mal said :-*
Nice acquisition Paul. Reg looks like quite a quite sort, I hope Schitte Creek doesn't prove too much for his sensibilities!
Ps I'm only jealous that you're managing to build stuff and game! We played our first group game in over 4 months on Friday, so I'm itching to get some gaming in.
Bloody hell you didn't waste any time picking him up. :o
Lovely brushwork on a beautifully sculpted figure :D
From a great range of figures too. ;)
Wot mal said :-*
He knows a quality miniature when he sees one ;)
Reginald is an UBERCOOL, BEAUTIFULLY painter mini. One look is enough to create a need to go Western; possibly start doing John Wayne imitations..or not. Thanks, Amigo.
He knows a quality miniature when he sees one ;)
You sir, are a slag lol
cheers
James
You sir, are a slag lol
lol
Of the highest calibre. :D
I am not sure if this is classified as flirting or as a domestic, but please refrain from lowering the tone on my thread.
You tarts!
:D
I didn't think the tone could get any lower, however I apologise most profusely for derailing what is otherwise a marvellous thread populated with splendid buildings and beautifully painted and sculpted miniatures. :D

James
lol ;D
You lot are rather cute.
Thanks, mate.
:D
lol
Cheers to you too.....I think!
Right, I couldn't resist showing this fella off, as he is lovely.
The first of the personalities that will be featured in the adventures happening in and around Upsheet Creek...
Reginald the Hunter.
Yep, those eagle-eyed amongst you will recognise him as fresh from the Old West Painting Posse and the brush of that top tosher, Bugsda.
Couldn't resist him, as he is bloody well painted and I am sure that you will agree.
The man himself delivered him today and I am most pleased with him.
Nice work on the new guy, I think your painting is getting better and better every time.
How's the old pencil sharpner shaping up Paul? Think it's superior to a lasercut wagon?
I shall take a piccie tomorrow and you can judge for yourself.
:D
Like the Greenstuff work.
I have always been sceptical about using pencil sharpeners so am looking forward to seeingh ow these turn out.
They seem to do the job and any option different to lasered MDF gets a tick in my book :D
cheers
James
The gaming is a bit of a bonus, as we have slackened off on that front recently.
It should pick up now as it is easy to put an Old West posse together so there are no excuses really if I am providing the scenery, is there, chaps??
:D
They seem to do the job and any option different to lasered MDF gets a tick in my book :D
"If you invite them, they will come"
8)
Loving those wagons. Will be keen to see how they come out as I bought half a dozen of them a couple of years ago and they've sat in my "do something with these" pile ever since.
Cool piccys Paul, they don't look half bad :-*
I'm keen to see how they turn out. Those crates and detritus are a particular fine addition.
I'm guessing they size up well with your figures too :?
Oh, and the stagecoach is ready for paint now, so piccies of that later, including the figure comparison that I should have done last time..... ::)
Looks great mate 8)
With a lick of paint it'll be a stonker :D
Nice work Paul 8)
Looking good. I remain unconvinced with the mdf wagons but might pick up the stagecoach as it's not too pricey.
Looks pretty good Mason, especially for the price. Once you weather it I'm sure it will be a stunner.
I'm not sure what I prefer so far for stage coaches, (or if I even want one) the latest laser cut one looked pretty good, if a bit flat. But not sure it looks that much worse than the old glory 40mm diorama stage coach seen painted elsewhere in the forum. I guess it's great us talented bunch can make anything look good ;P
They look pretty darn good. Are you planning on sticking a yolk on the other 2 wagons as well?
Pictures at the weekend....
Better shots needed :D
Those look great so far :-* :-* :-*
Where are you going to get horses to pull them?
When you take better pictures can you add in some figures to show the scale of these
They look great mate :-*
Are you going to matt varnish them?
The closeups show off the wagons to advantage...both look SPLENDID! VERY WELL DONE!
Mason,
Nice work on those, I was very pleased with mine as well. I made one into a Hearse. I ordered the bulk horse sprue set from Wargames Factory. Got 12 horses, they look fine to my eye.
Nick
I have managed to pick up four of the wagons & one stage coach over the years. I heartilly recomend them. Having assembled & painted a Dixon chuck wagon (which is an excellent scale model & VERY detailed, down to coffee pot, cups & plates) I know which I want, as a wargamer, the pencil sharpener every time.
Very nice indeed fella. I'm gonna be stealing ideas from here when I get round to mine. Thanks for the inspiring thread.
:-*
Nicely played Paul. You were right, and they will certainly look the business plopped down into a town, with a few gun slingers taking up position.
Great work on those wagons. Just the inspiration I need to dig out mine and get to work on them.
Cracking stuff Mason. They look I finally better now, especially the stagecoach. I'm gonna rob that beastie!!
Well now.. That should have read.
They look infinitely better now..
Bloody iPad. lol
They look superb mate! Well up to your usual high standard. As the man Smokezombie said, we will have to rob them! :D Or put a few bullets through them - aiming at something else, of course! lol
Looking forward to playing Wednesday. 8)
Hoping to get some more done tomorrow, the only problem is now I am torn between finishing off the Water Tower or doing the horses for the stagecoach....hmmmm.
Decisions, decisions.
:D
Isn't that the constant dilemma we all face. Whether to finish off one project or start another. Ooh look shiny!!! :?
Look on the brightside either way you get to finish one of the projects. lol lol lol
A project is never really finished. ;D
Mason. Who makes the shotgun toting civilian lady you have? With the blue dress and the bonnet?
Piccies of the Water Tower later.
I can already tell it will be a bugger to get decent pictures of it.....
Looks great mate 8)
I like the 'yogurty' groundwork ;)
Look at that pipe sir! A fantastic bit o plumbing there! :-*
I'd have to disagree James, the ground doesn't look very cultured at all ;D It would have more flagstones if it were.
Blimey, you're really whizzing through this project!
Love the wagons and stagecoach, they are truly beautiful and you keep surprising me with how nice you're making those buildings look :o
As it goes, you are nearly right....as I did finish the Water Tower and after that I started painting some......civilians.
Not horses, no, but civilians instead.
o_o
The Civilians of Upsheets Creek should provide a nice distraction now and again from scenery building.
I made a start on a few recently.
Well, they had already been started by someone else.
In fact, the first couple had been pretty much finished by someone else.
The Soiled Dove and the Blacksmith....
These were both painted by panzerfaust65 and given to me as a pressie last year as occupants of Krappefortt, my ruined Fantasy town.
I think they will see much better service and blend in perfectly in Upsheet Creek, so I have given them a slight alteration and rebased them in such a way so that they will fit in with the rest of my planned Old West inhabitants.
They are actually fantasy civilians but they should fit in just fine in the Old West with the apparel they are sporting.
More Civilians are being finished this afternoon....
Tower looks great. Those townsfolk look like they'll fit in nicely in a Wild West town.
She's a damn site purtier than the saloon girls who'll be frequenting my saloon (Dixon girls)!
The new men about town look SPLENDID. The Station Master is a rather dashing fellow. VERY WELL DONE!
Yep, good work on the new additions, Mason. Sorry I wasn't able to jinthe posse the othe rnight, but at least my excuse was work and not Papa Nurgle's caresses this time! :o
Sounds like a good game was had (although sadly not for Smokezombie's mexicans unfortunately :'()
Mason is doing Old West. We are doomed guys ... all our projects will now looks futile.
Lovely updates all around Mason!
Everything looks great.
Keep them doggies rolling!
:D
Just have to quote myself ... You all new I can predict the future now.
Great Job Mason.
The Founding Folk make for a handsome Group Portrait. All VERY WELL DONE!
Nice set up! The train really does add something!
I tried to reply to your suggestion about synchronizing train work in the new year (as it will help me focus!) but my phone thought it would like to be an arse and decided not to play. I'm up for that :)
Nice set up! The train really does add something!
Excellent Boss Mason, looks just the sort of place where they don't like fookin' free grazers around (http://i49.tinypic.com/2jxsfb.jpg)
+1 what Steve said. Blimey Paul, that's one beck of a setup. It's like your using instant ingredients, ... 'Build everything from stratch, pain stakingly weather and detail everything. But, Here's a town I prepared earlier.'
.... I like how the train line curves around town. The loco looks spot on, you will need a lot less scratchbuilding than me. :)
.......
I'm keen to join Steve and yourself in building trains next year. ;) I'm planning 2 locos, 2 passenger cars, 1 combined passenger mail car, and a box car.
Your civilians are looking very splendid and dapour, and I must say Catastrophe Kate is my favourite character so far. I wish her well, and good aiming in the games to come. Her PJ finery matches her fine attitude to dispatching Mexicans! Lol
Looks good mate :-*
The only thing I would say is that the board looks a little linear with the paint work, from a distance it could almost be taken for a pine table top.
Maybe some circular, random drybrushing to help break it up a bit.
Great set up none the less :)
I've found Photobucket to be far worse with the "new" version than the old...not to mention the obnoxious video advertisements. Time to start looking elsewhere I think. Shame, been using them for 10 years.
I like the rug too. :D
Looking good. ;D
I like the rug too. :D
You really are faggot lol
Well, that's a mighty fine looking Town you have there, Pilgrim. SPLENDID WORK, Paul!
You really are faggot lol
cheers
Jame
What's wrong with admiring another mans rug?
:D
I understand, mate.
Bibbles should consider the fact that you are obviously in need of a new rug.... and have been for a while,it seems........ ::)
:D
I understand, mate.
Bibbles should consider the fact that you are obviously in need of a new rug.... and have been for a while,it seems........ ::)
:D
What's wrong with admiring another mans rug?
:D
lol lol lol
We are clearly talking at cross purposes here. ::)
As long as it's not a merkin!! lol lol
Great work love the scenery! Just move closer to where I live and we can game on it!
Really?
Sorry, mate.
I thought that we were talking about your urgent need of a new rug....seems I may be wrong.
::)
No new rugs required in my house thanks.
Now, quit postulating and post more photos. :D
:o that's exciting Mason!! I can't wait to see them all done and dusted with the signs...
Mamma's Rugs,
James' Construction and Errection business. ;)
Love the debate....can't wait to see who else is joining me in upshit creek
Scenic 'crap'? Too technical for me, Mason! I have to say mate, the town is looking surperb - another fine effort 8)
Splendid progress Paul! 8)
Mason, maybe tarpaper and batons for the flat roofs? I'm no scratchbuilder but shouldn't be too hard to do, especially after your other builds
For the flat roof - a wee bit of an assignation spot can be indicated by a bit of paper towel soaked in glue and painted to look like a well used blanket. Also, a few bits of wood lying about, perhaps there was a leak during the last rain and the repairs aren't entirely complete. That combination can "liven" up the roof.
Good looking terrace , I need to do something like that for my Chinatown area I think... Thanks for inspiration
Looking good :-* :-* :-*
Is the pink one going to be a rug shop :D
Señor Malamute, Land Agent?
(I did well to avoid the obvious joke about rugs! ;))
Looking good,
Perhaps
Mamma's Cake Shop - 'Frosting specialists and Party catering.'
Looking good,
Perhaps James' Land Agency 'we have the most property in town' and...
Mamma's Cake Shop - 'Frosting specialists and Party catering.'
lol lol lol
Great work Paolo :-*
Must be dark in the back of those buildings...
Glad you had a giggle mamma. lol ;)
The buildings look TERRIFIC! You could leave off the shops signs have a rare Western Gypsy settlement...vacant stores being their natural habitat.
New stuff, cool! I do like your set dressing, it adds a lot of character.
Stop it Paul, you're killing us with suspense over these new shops in town! >:D lol
I'm looking forward to anything you take a snap shot of mate. :)
No worries Paul, understandably your a kid in a candy store at home with all your figures.
A bath house of ill repute then...? lol
COOL! Bath Houses, especially those of the Turkish variety, seem to figure into Western lore...the Wild & Clean West. Bibble's is a FINE name for the establishment; coming up with names is one of the more enjoyable features of terrain building & figure painting. WELL DONE & MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Haha, a bath house. Encouraging Bibbles to clean up his act eh? ;)
.............And does Mamma have a Laundromat? I bet it specialises in rugs ;DAs for the 'pink' building. I misjudged the size of the sign on that as well, hence the additional roof height sign board.
Have just breezed through this thread. Absolute treasures, Mason.
"Mama Mute's back door"...is that where they drop the shopping off ??? ;) lol
Mama Mure's Hosiery? Get your pantaloons here!
Laundry!
Haberdashery or gentleman's outfitter?
"Lard dispensary"?
Ah! It's a Ladies' garment shop!
Hope you like it, Mama.....
:D
(I am getting quite worried about the next premises along, I have to say... )
Ha! I should have got it straight away, all the clues were there! Great idea Paul!
Love the buildings Mason, this is all coming along real nice.
lol
Is the proprietress a diminutive, hairless Mexican lady by any chance? ;)
(I am getting quite worried about the next premises along, I have to say... )
:D Could it be The Captain's Blood Bank? Ahead of it's time admittedly!
My guesses are a tobacconist or a town newspaper for no other reason than a hunch (which is more than likely very wrong!).
I'd love a game at Upsheet Creek, shame you're so far away mate!
By the way, I've started my first Mason style sign for my first painted town building!
Aha! So it will be the town quack then - a physician who loses many patients I surmise ;)
Thanks for the (temporary) reprieve... ::)
Mama's Place is cool, but, now that it's too late, I think Madame Mute's would have given the business more of the haute coiture feel that western women are so into.
Like it! Is he a retired military doctor?
I had thought about making my town doctor a retired Union surgeon.
This is all highly entertaining! Good work on the buidlings Mason, superb.
A retired Army surgeon sounds good.
The 'Doctor' at Upsheet Creek however has a bit of a shady past and it has been rumoured that he may have frequented the Whitechapel area of London in the past....... ;)
More Cracking Stuff Mason. Loving the new shop signs and looking forward to yet more Wild West goodness.
Chooly
Ah! So we're talking post 1888 then (or 89 depending on your take!)! Nice one!
I trust "Mama's" will stock the latest dresses from the great fashion houses of Paris and Milan?
It's looking great, keep 'em coming. I am looking forward to seeing Dr Mortems surgery ;)
A giant Old West game at BLAM sounds pretty good. Everyone fighting over Mama's pants shop!
lol
Great idea. ;)
lol
Paul these are fantastic..
I think i know what the captains store might be?
;)
Nice thread mate :-* Lovely work!
Love the new stuff! Dammit pack your crap up and move to Florida so I can game with ya!
Mate, i've been waiting to view this thread until it reached around 22 pages. Since that means that the thread will be full of lovely pictures, battlereports, and some lovely and unfair kidney jabs at the being known as MamaBibs; Half fox, Half B-W Geezer, Half space.
And I have been spoiled :-*
Love the terrain, the setup and all the details! :-*
Cover me in eggs and flour and bake me for forty minutes!!!!!!!!! Completely missed this thread!
Mason! Mason! Mason! You're spoiling us! Brilliant stuff :-* :-* :-* :-*
Brillliant as ever!!!!!!!
A giant Old West game at BLAM sounds pretty good. Everyone fighting over Mama's pants shop!
lol
Great idea. ;)
lol
We could have the entirety of Upshit Creek separated by the Rio Grande from the entirety of San Antonio... That should fill a few tables ;)
20 player game? :)
I'd be up for putting a posse together for BLAM (heads off to dig his Deadwood boxset out) :)
We could have the entirety of Upshit Creek separated by the Rio Grande from the entirety of San Antonio... That should fill a few tables ;)
20 player game? :)
What a splendid idea. lolSign me up for that :D
I have never laid out San Antonio De Bejar in its entirety. It should comfortably fill an 8x4ft table. I have the Rio Grande river boards too. Upsheet Creek across the border on the Gringo side of the river with multiple shoot em ups going on either side of the river and roving bands of Comanche harassing the white eyes... ;D
What a great game, I feel the urge to build a few more buildings now just for good measure. lol
Sign me up for that :D
Too right! I'll happily bring one or two posses or gangs!
Looks like we got us a BLAM game boys!
:D
Looks like we got us a BLAM game boys!
Bastard-socks! Now I have to paint some cowboys... o_o lol
Bastard-socks! Now I have to paint some cowboys... o_o lol
By the way, don't forget the Royal Navy expedition to Mexico... I can feel a couple of coastline boards coming on... ;)
Looks like we got us a BLAM game boys!
:D
I have never laid out San Antonio De Bejar in its entirety. It should comfortably fill an 8x4ft table. I have the Rio Grande river boards too..........
Keep this up and you'll end up with a scale representation of Texas...(well...maybe not, it is bigger than your whole island :P)
And I'm hoping to build both San Antonio and an old west spaghetti town.
Will there be a Paul's masonry building? Or a Masonite travel trunks case? Perhaps a brickaworks for TC? ;)
:D
Matt
Thanks, chaps, much appreciated.
:D
There is still a fair bit to do to this, two three-dimensional signs (one of which will need sculpting) and some detailing on the windows.
I also need to add a couple of windows (as Captain Blood pointed out earlier in the thread... ::)).
I can add these as and when I make/paint them, as I will do with the Hardware Store as I have some 'goods' to add to that now.
;)
I hope to make some better progress this week as I now have some time off of work.
I have already made a start on a couple of bits of scatter terrain and the locomotive part of the wagons (thanks for the inspiration, Nick! :D ).
The next building to be worked on will be a Dry Goods store, but which LAFfer will be the proprietor....?
Oh, and I need to find a suitable figure to represent Bibbles, owner of the Bath House.
Any ideas...?
Nice finish to the terrace. I like the themes!
For a towel holding fellow what about this one, it's the Artizan Rene:
(yes, it is a small towel, but it could be for a small person!)
Excellent stuff old fruit!
Whatever figure you choose for Jimbibbly make sure it's wearing slippers (or at least one anyway) ;)
Haha another great addition!
I likethe whole forum handle incorporation. lol
Will there be a Paul's masonry building? Or a Masonite travel trunks case? Perhaps a brickaworks for TC? ;)
:D
A Masonic Hall might be in order or maybe a Paulist Brothers Abbey.
Hmm, figure in a fez, folded towel over arm? Turkish Bath House? lol

Hmm, figure in a fez, folded towel over arm? Turkish Bath House? lol
Not tall enough. You best look at 40mm figures for an accurate representation on the tabletop. ;) lol
Hmmm, surely "Bibbly in the Bathhouse" should be semi naked and well oiled, with a strong grip and firm forearms from pummelling and manipulating the tired and weary flesh of his consumers ......
(hey Paul, what about a poster advertising massages as the house speciality? :D)
Check out the posters on the front of the Bath House....back scrubs...
Mini figs do this chap in 40mm ;D
(http://www.miniaturefigurines.co.uk/images/catalogue/OW106.jpg)
Pulp Figures PGJ 15 for the towel folded over the arm chap. He even has the trays of bath salts and unguents. ;)
Darn, i missed that! Fine attention to detail sir :D
Amazing!!! :o :o :o
God only know how I missed this thread!
Brilliant work Paul! I always love your buildings! The way you finish them.... Easily some of the best ever!
Bibbles? Offended? He will probably be rolling on the floor laughing at your selection! lol
lol
Yeah, you are most likely correct.
He has been missing for a while, though, I assumed that I would have received some sort of abuse by now.
;)
He's in Japan and has been having a break from all things wargaming. He's not back until next week.
Do you have any pictures of the town so far?
Looks great mate. Cant wait to see it finished. Really impressed.
Yes! Finally! You know how much I hate to view single pieces here and there. A bloody full table is the way to go! ;)
Love the feel of it mate :-*
I might almost be persuaded to go Old West.
And I love the idea of you and Malamute (it just hit me, after 4 years, that he isn't called Mamalute...) going "Mamerica". Like the crazy viking wrote, that is one hell of a spaghetti western set :)
The last lot of pictures taken of the town as a whole were during our last set of games....
You acheived more in two months than me in an year. I think I do hate you ;D

I am appauled to see ladies of dubious virtue allowed to ply their wares outside a respectable establishment selling the finest haute couture. ::)
. :)
Splendid stuff, the upturned bath and tooth are wonderful and the curtains are a lovely touch ;D
Its the extra details like these which I think really bring buildings/terrain pieces to life. :)
You acheived more in two months than me in an year. I think I do hate you ;D
Everybody hates him ;)
You need to sort the pine table top out and get a proper board ;D
Don't worry, you've been in my thoughts >:D >:D
And if the figure of my good self isn't up to scratch I'll be round with the boys to find out why >:D
As for a suitable figure for the lady's outfitters, the old Citadel navigator might just do the trick with a bit of conversion (shorter legs for a start lol ).
but I already have a figure for Mama Mute.........
.....here 'she' is having a chat with Brian's Mum concerning the state of the sidewalks and what gets left laying around on them these days.
Who knows exactly what resides under that blonde wig...?
;)
A wish and a prayer lol
lol lol lol
That was naughty.
Bloody funny, though.... lol
...and finally, the surgery of Dr de'Ath....
You guys... ::)
Brilliant! The whole project has bags of character.
8)
Most excellent, I'm honoured to be included in such an illustrious and industrious project. :D
Does that mean I have to paint some cowboys now?
Don't. It will be the death of you.
Sorry.
I am appauled to see ladies of dubious virtue allowed to ply their wares outside a respectable establishment selling the finest haute couture. ::)
He's not appalled, he applauds it! ;)
Masy, you should really do a doctor sign, specializing in VD's, called "Silent Invader". Or a failed pantomine theater headligning "Silent Steve".
Just a suggestion ;)
A product or advertisement may well be the answer, you clever little herring-eater!Of course I'd help mate :) I'll debit you my minimum 10 hours plus VAT and exchange fees ;)
Fantastic work Mson, what with your project and all the others I have been taking a brush to the old west figures and picked up a few new buildings...I blame you that I cant afford any heating now this month ;) ;D :D
:o you have done a truly fantastic job on those buildings! Love that they have the names of fellow LAFers and the whole table layout looks brilliant. We'll done, sir
I'd love to see a "Herr Matiskitzer - Efficient, Inexpensive - Carpenter" ;)Of course I'd help mate :) I'll debit you my minimum 10 hours plus VAT and exchange fees ;)
A real joy, and inspiration, well done.
I am just waiting for some glue to dry before I take some piccies of the scatter scenery that I have been messing around with.
Will post them later....
Everybody hates him ;)
Lovely work mate :)
And I don't agree with Deafnala, we europeans know that the whole of US is full of cactuses ;)
Love the new additions fella. Whee did you get the pricklies from?
Lovely terrain items, I have some of the pegasus cacti but these look rather tasty, I have a couple form irregular small metal ones, are these the DMH ones?
Nicely done. :)
I have been meaning to produce something similar but as usual time has passed me by lol
This is all highly inspiring.
A town called Upsheet Creek ought to have a shop selling paddles though...
Nothing say Old West like a Saguaro Cactus. Of course, that's Old Southwest or more precisely Southern Arizona & North Eastern Mexico...we're narrowing down the Upsheet Creek locale.
Lovely work mate :)
And I don't agree with Deafnala, we europeans know that the whole of US is full of cactuses ;)
I heard Mason has a prickley pear (pair) ;D
lol
Almost 1 page of no-one bantering Mason ;k) So close for a new all time high!
And I don't agree with Deafnala, we europeans know that the whole of US is full of cactuses ;)
Welcome back Bibbles, a pleasant surprise I hope to find yourself immortalised in MDF. ;)
Love the colours on the cactussssesessses 8)
Paul, the cactai look great and the wild flowers are a nice touch to your terrain too. You put together a good show with all your pictures. Thanks for the inspiration.
That's what I love about LAF. I have the Pegasus cacti, and I now realise that when I do glue them on CD bases for scatter terrain there will be a few additions of rocks, flowers and animal droppings on the base. It's all in the details.
Lovely additions Mason.
I like what you have done with the Cacti, another little project for me to do
I will have to pick up some at Crusade.
Succulent flora Paul, I really must get some :-*
Great terrain pieces, even if the cactii are pretty small. The real sajuaro are pretty freakin' huge. lol
Quick question though, why do I have the bloody bath house. The dentist and lady's outfitters I can understand... ???
Because you're a dirty dirty boy!
Bibbly - Bubbly makes sense to me ;D
Welcome back Bibbles, a pleasant surprise I hope to find yourself immortalised in MDF. ;)
Thanks, but how dare you! MDF indeed! Acrylic if you please ;D
And right you are! One of those things I noticed about us Americans is that if we like something & it doesn't grow were we live, we move it there...often wondering why it then dies.
Argh! Your pace is just making me feel swetty! lol
That's some quality terrain pieces. In fact - my only peeve is that you've gone for the exact same shape on all 3.
I understand that CD*s may be readily available, but I think the symmetry can break up the illusion if it isn't done proper. But yours is of course because you're such a bastard! lol
Quick question though, why do I have the bloody bath house. The dentist and lady's outfitters I can understand... ???
Sheep dip, what with you being a Cumbrian lad?!
You just wait until you see that, mate!
Looking forward to it (kind of).
..... Tom the B*stard popped over last night for a game.
I wont post a full AAR as I didnt really take any piccies of the game, but I did get some of his new Prospector band of Mountain Men.
I shall put them up later.
I like that there is a large amount of beard in these photos.
I like that there is a large amount of beard in these photos.
That just sounds so wrong!
Like the mountain men a lot. Have you inherited these?
Sheep dip, what with you being a Cumbrian lad?!You mean that Bibbly is, eh, saucy? I assume that there some of local custom saying that instead of juicy.
That just sounds so wrong!
Like the mountain men a lot. Have you inherited these?
lol
Dont say that, Matt.
He is a sensitive soul, ya know.
:D
I can honestly say that no MDF was harmed in the making of this property.
These buildings were completely scratchbuilt by Bobble out of various materials and there is no Fibreboard that I can see.
(Apart from the base, but I added that... ::)).
You mean that Bibbly is, eh, saucy? I assume that there some of local custom saying that instead of juicy.
Great paiting by Tommaso Il B*stordo :)
Was the leader told to wear the fox hat when heading off to Shitte Creek?
Nice work Mason
Wht rules are you going to use?
Oh, did I mention one guy kicked 5 of his. Oh yes I did but its worth saying again
She had apparently been mistaken for a dangerous criminal.......
Looking good me 'ol mucker.
...probably booked on charges of impersonating Maria Ouspenskaya...all that "when the moon is full, you will turn into a werewolf, Mr. Talbot." stuff is a felony around these parts. That aside, COOL LOOKING game...the Mountain Men are TERRIFIC minis.
It just hit me. But with all the variations of yellow and brown, you really ought to have some clothlines full of whitish bedlinen :) That perfect cover for bullets... ;)
Do it! It will bring more spark to the table :)
I read the link, and I had to re-read the word "insecticide" 5 times before my mind turned from wicked humour concerning sheep and... Eh, the family blood purification process... I was hoping for that kind of joke, so shame on you Steve!
Man, the gaming and tables look freakin' great. If I saw that shady ole lass walking around Drake's Branch I'd throw her ass in the slammer too! :D
How on earth did I miss this thread and set of gaming?! Sterling work as ever Mr M.
Looks like I'm gonna have to do something about this.......are those wardrums I can hear? :)
lol My apologies Bibbles ;D
Cheers, mate.
Now, about that game.... ;)
Time for a stranger to ride into town then :D
Might set me self a little project deadline.
Ooooooh yes, just sorting some dates.
:-* dats a right purty stage.
I do hope you will put up some bunting... Lots of painstaking little tiny triangles :D
Very nice indeed! :-*
You just can't have a Western town without a gallows...some place for the local hooligans to hang out AND the precursor for the drive in movie. Yours is a BEAUTY, a rather chic place to end it all. VERY WELL DONE!
Excellent Paul :)
Nice work Paul. I really like the weathered PJ, what's your recipe and technique? (so I can copy it obviously! :D)
Time for a stranger to ride into town then :D
Might set me self a little project deadline.
Just thinking of building a gallows for some grave-robbing fun in Kulten...no chance of being as lurvley as yours. But, I will be nicking some of your ideas. Great stuff as always! 8)
Very helpful, thanks Paul. I'll give that a go on my next building.
As long as you aren't planning on easing yourself into a tight pair of chaps and shooting up the sheriff (take that as you will) :o
Haven't had a chance to dip into the thread for a little while, and blimey! A lot's been going on :).
Too much to comment on in its entirety Mason, but excellent work my friend.
:D
I will have to pull my finger out (I know, I know...) or at least the brush and get my posse painted. Least you are helping me out in that regard as your lawmen reduced the number of models I need to paint by two after our last encounter!
The Rumpo Riders will...erm...ride again!
I am seeing Kitsune for some WWII Bolt Action action this evening, and I know he's getting some Apache boys from Black Scorpion, so may pursuade him to take a mosey on down to Penge and visit Upsheet Creek :D
The cows and wagon have come up a treat. :)
I was not a fan of the pencil sharpener variety, but you have done a good job on this one to alter my opinion. :)
I need to finally build some proper wagons...at some point. :? This is my jealous face.
Nice canvas. I like how you painted the texture. It looks very authentic.
Aha!
Mama approves!
Great news, as I did not want them banned from crossing the river to San Antonio de Bejar.
;)
Don't worry you'll be fine as old San Antone is on the Texas side of the Rio Grande. ;)
I forgot to take some scale comparison pics when I took these earlier, as has requested a few times.
I will take some this afternoon and post them later.
Those wagons do look pretty good. The stagecoach is the only one that might look to be a little on the small side but the freight wagons look about right. There was a lot of variance in wagon sizes.
ooo purty. Works for me and pushes my OW buttons. ;)
That fine dressed lady must be royalty or sumfin, she aint covered in sheet. ;D
Nice shot of Upsheet Creek in the evening sunshine. :)
Excellent Paul, I was thinking the wagons would look small but they don't look small at all 8)
Paul is there a link to pencil sharpener land?
Thanks for the tip
These sharpenking wagons are very cheaps and very effectives. Good job on them.
Where do you get these Sharpenking things?! They look bloody amasoning!
This is a fine thread, ideed! Just putting in a post to get updates ;)
Where do you get these Sharpenking things?! They look bloody amasoning!
The link was on the previous page : http://www.sharpenking.com/contents/en-uk/d11.html
:-* I love your basing Paul, very cheerful!! The cows look just the part.
If you keep up this rate you will have enough to circle the wagons and have a prairie battle! Get some Indians!! :D
Wagons rooooooll!
Lookin' good. :)
You may have stated that somewhere, but are the oxen Hereford or something else?
EDIT:
And are they 1/64 or 1/32 - googling brings up both...?
Hereford. 1/64.
Here is a link to them on ebay:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PACKAGE-25-ERTL-HEREFORD-Cows-Calfs-Cattle-NIP-/260777896247?pt=Diecast_Vehicles&hash=item3cb792e937#ht_1088wt_954
COOL! Now all you need to complete the Wagon Train is a mini that looks like Ward Bond.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wagon_Train
8) Thanks!
COOL! Now all you need to complete the Wagon Train is a mini that looks like Ward Bond.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wagon_Train
I like the way those are coming out. A whole wagon train of them will be quite impressive.
And there goes my retirement savings... ::)
No, really - a full wagon train with some hired guns for protection when crossing the reservation... Not really that expensive to do with these...
Could they be used for the Great Trek (Boers), too, mayhaps?
Beautiful bovine bounty from Boss Mason :-*
Those wagons are great bud! :o :o Your usual brilliant finish REALLY makes them work!! :-* :-* :-*
lol
Cheers, mate.
Fancy painting some Apaches...?
Lovely work mate :-* I'll have to send you my Wild West figs from LPL 7,I'm never going to use them...Good to se you back, mate :)
Yep! :D
You can't afford him! ;)
Nice wheels Paolo :-*
Lovely work mate :-* I'll have to send you my Wild West figs from LPL 7,I'm never going to use them...
Good to se you back, mate :)
And the wagons look lovely, Paul. You're bloody efficient, and apparently pretend to be a "Oh shiny!"-gentleman as the rest of us. Because if you were a true gentleman, you'd splosh 400 quid worth of minis and terrain, assemble half of it, paint one mini really-really well, and then just dump them somewhere to be sold of for a quarter of the price 5 years later... ;)
Dont think for one minute that I do not suffer from 'Shiny Syndrome', I just do things in a different way to you: I stockpile.
I have all the things that I need for my next three or four projects waiting for me in the cupboard (Start Wars, Dark Ages Lord of the Rings, Spy-Fi and Rogue Trader/Retro Sci-Fi).
That does not stop me buying more for them as well.
Stockpiling, what a silly notion, what are you? Sovietian? Oh dear oh dear. Cracking blisters and cutting half of the stuff is 90% of the hobby fun!
That's exactly how I do it, allthough I tend to to to and fro projects, making a short burst of progress when I decide it's time to actually play another game. lol
Moooooooo! And the Mexican version is Maaamooo?
:D
VERY NICELY DONE! Your brushwork & basing are up to your normal high standards...AND it's always good to see folks that are out standing in their field.
Don't have a cow man! Have loads of 'em.
Mason, Your output (quantity and quality) is outstanding. I barely manage to get a few minis painted a month (due to time constraints and primarily, I admit, bone-idleness) so watching you churn out buildings, wagons and now beef is both inspiring and, I'm afraid to say, envy-making in the extreme!
Moooooooo!
:D
And the Mexican version is Maaamooo?
It's the bovines bollocks mate :D
We call those "Rocky Mountain Oysters" here in the states (fried bull testicles...).
lol
For those familiar with the term: He shall be 'Doing a James Herriot' .... ;)That's dedication to primary source research! lol
I have until Friday to finish it, so I had best pull my finger out, hadn't I...?
That's dedication to primary source research! lol
That's dedication to primary source research! lol
Great work Paul, as is the case with all your (prolific) projects. 8)
Or just showing one's age (having watched that show, and, yes, I remember it well).
Now, if I could just find the damn figure.
I had it sitting on the table at the weekend.
May have to go to Plan B.....bugger!
Great job on the bovines...
Top work. They look great.
Stampede you say?
Now, if I could just find the damn figure.
I had it sitting on the table at the weekend.
May have to go to Plan B.....bugger!
This happened to me with an RT01 Space Marine with Flamer, once. It didn't re-surface until we packed up to move to our current residence. Bloody cat must have pushed it down.
Mmmmm.... Beef. lol
To represent modern eating standards, should there not be a couple of horses in disguise in there? ;)
Nice work yet again mate!
Luckily I found the bugger earlier, just before going to work, so I shall make a proper start tomorrow.
:D
Has to be ready for Friday, so no pressure....... ::)
lol
You have to call him Dr Creutzfeldt-Jakob ;)
lol
You have to call him Dr Creutzfeldt-Jakob ;)
Oh yes! lol
Er, why has that gentleman got his hand up a bulls arse? :?
Nice work on the cattle.
Town vet...or outlaw with the most clever of places for stashing his loot.
I suppose that would be decidedly "booty" and not loot. lol
lol lol
Yes!
The bulging eyes are a nice touch.
Painted piccies later....... if I get it done in time.
IF...?
;)
lol
You have to call him Dr Creutzfeldt-Jakob ;)
That is definitely a one of a kind mini. GREAT WORK!
The Good Doctor is actually retired...he just likes keeping a hand in the business.
Well it made I larf lol lol
What a wonderful gift
BB
now thats different!
brilliant.
Splendid. :)
It reminds me of an ex girlfriend. The relationship didnt last long, but it was certainly memorable. :D
It reminds me of an ex girlfriend. The relationship didnt last long, but it was certainly memorable. :D
Paul -that is just not right !
Does the Vet have a name? I am sure that you cycle through the various members on LAF and find somebody suitable.... :D
That is bloody hilarious!
What a great idea Mason!
I almost spat out my tea!
lol
Splendid. :)
It reminds me of an ex girlfriend. The relationship didnt last long, but it was certainly memorable. :D
Too much information... o_o
You had relations with a cow? ;D
:o :o
lol
Paul. That's just silly, and very funny! I couldn't believe what my eyes were witnessing. Haha.
Nice work Paul :)
The bull seems strangely calm,we always used an crush, cattleyards that sort of thing; perhaps he's the 'bull whisperer'? ;)
Wow Mason!
You have assembled a very impressive Wild West Town in a relatively short time!
The terrain looks great and incredibly fun to play on.
Too bad the in game pics didn't turn out so great.
Absolutely gawgus! :-*
Looks great mate :-*
Remind me not to tell you when my birthday is lol
Everything looks great. Interesting that you decided to put everything on bases. Any particular reason?
Total mini pron!
Will there be a travelling bordello as well?
That's a cracking table Paul! As for the bull with a man attached.....genius! lol lol lol I'm sure that cow has a smile on his face!!!
Awesome stuff. Are some of those rock formations the aquarium bits you may have mentioned earlier? Everything looks loverly! :)
Thanks to Mason and his western shenanigans I've got a yearning to watch Deadwood again. Anyone got the boxset they can lend me ;D
:-* that's a fan-cay town you got there partner. I'd imagine the authorities would be pretty interested in anexing it. If they aren't, then I certainly am :P
It looks good, and the mat looks better now there is more terrain and scatter placed on it. So you may get away without touching it up.
The board looks fine, mate, and is perfectly acceptable, regardless of anything that Bibbles says.
:D
Nah, don't listen to me ;D
lol lol lol
Yes mason, have no fear, postage is too steep to make purchaces from the UK, I won't get there any time soon ;) :D
The table is looking absolutely amazing in pictures, Mason! T'was a good game against the Bastard's mountain men, too 8)
Here is a shot of the table looking up the main street from the Sheriff's office....
:o unpainted miniatures! Oh dear! They let any one in to play now do they? ;) lol lol
Nice looking game.
Mountain men and ghosts!? 8)
That's a nifty-looking table you've got there! So many pages of thread already, it's hard to keep track of all the updates! I particularly like the wagons, though, and you've done lovely paint jobs on the minis :)
lol
I have been assured that they have been introduced to the paintbrush now.
Maybe the shaming had an effect.... ::)
;)
Only one of Bert's survived....
....and may shame him into getting them dressed and fit for the table in time for the next game.
:D
In my defence, I've got plenty of painted models for Mordheim, IHMN and Strange Aeons, if you can see 'em through the coating of dust...
Ahem :P
This pic will serve nicely for the before and after shot!
Not painted much for a while now, mate, is all I am saying...... ;)
If you want to play any of those games, you just have to say.
You were given the option of what to play last week.
You chose to play with the Ghost Cowboys.
:D
Lovely...I have been thinking of doing up some more trees and bushes (and I have plenty). Adds a lot! I think you just created the nickname for Bert's group "The Ghost Boys".
Thought that would provoke a reaction :D And you did indeed give me the option, I is only joshing wiv ya ;)
Don't worry, work is well under way - wouldn't want to fall foul of the painting police when next we meet lol But it's a fair point Mason, you have taken all this time and effort to build the lurvely town of Upsheet Creek, so it ain't right palying on it with models in Factory Grey :(
Just read through all 38 pages of this, fantastic. The wagons are excellent but I really loved the Town Vet! :-*
My point exactly....cheeky git!
:D
The rocks have come up a treat. :)
Those are MIGHTY FINE LOOKIN' rocks, Pilgrim. If there is one thing we have in abundance in these parts, it's rocks...mostly marble & granite.
Least I do turn up to play from time to time, unlike some of your 'customers' :D
And the rocks are looking good mate ;)
Bloody hell, Paul! I struggle to even consider finishing one base of trees, and you just produce 5. Bastard.
I stand by my earlier statement, they do look alright and a bargain at £4.00 a pop.
That figure aint a bad one either ;)
Sir, your work continues to amaze! I've been looking through some the other pages in the thread, are you planning on basing the train track as well?
Loving the rocks :-*
You do know that you'll have to turn the figures round so they can actually see what they're supposed to be looking at don't you ;D
Nice rocks Paul! Now I wish I'd bought the big ones too.
Mmm nice rocks man.
Methinks I will have to pop down to the local pet shop and have a looksee.
BB
Gorgeous rocks..might have to start looking for a local shop... :-*
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SRwrg0db_zY
Nice colour variation in the rocks paul. Looks perfect to me, and the rock arch is a nice 'location' for a game too. Red Ded Redemption had a number of objectives at the arch in Mexico.
They look great! Especially the arched formation :)
Those rocks look uber cool!
Mason, love the rocks but I have to ask...was it your intent to make two of the three look like someone is flipping the players off? :o
Great stuff, looking forward to seeing it finished.
Thunder Chicken's Portuguese Burger Bar?
Thunder Chicken curry house
Keep a thunderbox near by ;) ;) :D :D :D
Oooooh dear!
Perhaps it will be a sophisticated, bohemian meeting place where intellectuals exchange ideas and muse on current affairs while being tended to by the ever popular proprietor, T.H. Underchicken.
Then again, knowing Mason probably not lol
It is enough to say that 'Thunderchicken has come to town'...piccies later.
:D
Love it mate :-* :-*
Top Stuff! I was trying to figure out how you'd incorporate Thunderchicken into a shop/store name and a brewery works perfectly. Briliant finish again!!
lol Very good indeed. :)
VERY COOL! The West wouldn't have been as wild without the local brew/still.
Nicely done sir, nicely done. The sign looks great , yet again.
Hahaha!
Cheeks as the brewer!
I suppose everyone will start at 'their place' for the big BLAM game, right? lol
Wahey! A brewery! How very apt ;) Nice bit of work on the building mate :-*.
A brewery as an objective? Who needs more motivation than that! lol

A brewery as an objective? Who needs more motivation than that! lol
I shall snuff it from yer cold dead hands! :D
I hope I get the knocking shop :D
I am pleased that he is pleased.
I shall snuff it from yer cold dead hands! :D
Well Paul, that's certainly more appropriate than my suggestion. lol lol lol
Brilliant Paul.
I hope I get the knocking shop :D
Well Paul, that's certainly more appropriate than my suggestion. lol lol lol
(I never saw westerns growing up, I've just started watching the best ones recently.)
Jolly well done, the sign turned out rather well. Good to see that it scales up to poster size too.
I'm pleased that you're pleased that I'm pleased. It's all rather pleasing. ;)
That's pukka Mason my son, love it 8)
Nice to see some of our prominent members (!) immortalised at last.
Thunderchicken's Brewery, how apt. :D
Brilliant Paul.
I hope I get the knocking shop :D
Not the hairdressers, please! >:(
;)
Not the hairdressers, please! >:(
;)
lol Blood's Barbers has a lovely ring to it! I can just see you snipping away "been on any nice cattle drives recently sir?" :D
Not the hairdressers, please! >:(
;)
Bet you it is.... ;)
lol Blood's Barbers has a lovely ring to it! I can just see you snipping away "been on any nice cattle drives recently sir?" :D
or The Captain's Cuts n' Curls maybe? :)
I can tell you chaps that it wont be the hairdressers or the barbers....but I think that you WILL like what it is.
Except maybe Captain Blood himself, that is.... :D
Purveyor of the finest flouncy shirts?
I'm thinking something along the lines of Robert de Niro in Stardust. :D
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pPZWqhr-Nj8
(My apologies Richard)
Too bad about not being a Barber Shop; the Tonsorial Parlor was The Social Hub of most small American towns right into the 1950s. Some even included a pool table for the entertainment of their customers. That aside, it will be fun seeing what you come up with; I've yet to be disappointed.

(My apologies Richard)
I can see the good Captain in that role ;) lol
Now come on boys... Give a dog a bad name... lol
I know what he's going to do... It's all because I called one of my Italian mercenaries Paolo The Myopic in his, er, honour... He's going to put my name on the town optician ;)
Anyway, it's all very ingenious. Well donePaolooops, Paul.
:D
Will there be a proper handsome three time academy award winning former president of the united states air force one superhero chemist around also?
I love the pseudo narcissistic nature of all this! It brings about the same sort of gibbering as a portrait painting. lol
I am going to run out of buildings soon....
Yes, but the inspiration for the brewery in the first place? Okay, so I'm hoping it was a photo of a gold rush era California brewery I posted on my blog, Steeplechasing Zebras. Yeah, yeah? 8)
Or you just a beer soaked sot and its just a natural affinity? :'(
How many more 'on the list' are there?
Just have to make a bigger town to add more people.
Now then....how do you incorporate a Bugsda into the Creek?
That IS a difficult one...... o_o
Probably the bordello, I've often been accused of being a big tart lol
I'm fine if I get the hairdressers, it's just an honour to be on the list! :D
Someone should have the Upsheet Creek paddle emporium.
Less text is more!!! lol lol
Get cracking *whiplash* lol
Just for that you are going to getting a really bad establishment in town... :D
Just for that you are going to getting a really bad establishment in town... :D

Another LotR thread is like adding a teaspoon of sand to the Sahara.
Surely that was the plan anyway? lol
You can use my real name for Dr. Kragh's Wonder Drug/Medicine if you want lol
You know that's just water on my mill. ;D
Well said! A finished Western Project is cool. Another LotR thread is like adding a teaspoon of sand to the Sahara.
Mason, you cant stop now, you are right in the middle of your swing. And you haven't even touched your train! :-[ Very disappointing. ;)
Im sure Bibbles and Mamma will let you play with all their figures.
Are you doing interiors to any of the buildings? Cant help but think you have to have a sallon you can gun fight in.
Nice stuff again, Mason. Always good to see another take on the mdf scenery market. I still can't decide whether to get any myself...
The Gunsmith's shop is OUTSTANDING...love the sign. Considering the action in most Western Games this should be the most prosperous business in town.
Nice work! I really like the way the brewery warehouse turned out ... is that another laser-cut kit or scratch built?
The warehouse is the Hovels livery stable and made of resin.
Just to be clear, the only laser-cut building posted so far is the last one, the gunsmiths.
This will not remain a gunsmith's for long, however......
The gunsmith's looks superb - I am especially loving the raised boardwalk at the front. Another winner, Mason 8)
We must have a game soon now that I can decently show my outlaws' faces in public ;D
Nice, well it looks great. Wasn't implying they all were laser-cut ... the gunsmith noticeably is, though the warehouse didn't look it but wasn't sure :)
Interested to see what becomes of the gunsmith!
The gunsmith change should happen at the weekend.....as I have lost my mojo a little at the moment as my eyes are playing up a bit.
When you see what the gunsmiths will become, you will see the irony in that statement!
;)

And on that note, I am more intrigued!
lol lol lol
Love it Paolo!
I knew it ;)
Cooooool!
Great
Cracking finish! :o 8) :-*
It's looking really good! Very different to my original version.
Does he offer shaving and blood letting as well?
Beautiful building, and welcome to Captain Blood!
Excellent! Coincidentally I've just got back from Specsavers with my new bins, If i'd only known I would have given Dickie Blood the business. lol
I'm not too far off the optivisor stage these days...
::)
How many more 'on the list' are there?
Cracking job! The sign is very nicely done indeed.
Wow, Paul that optometrist building looks really good. You mess them up very nicely. Subtle but natural.
Loooks good!
That is quite a list there Paul, better get cracking - you will end up with a bustling metropolis at that rate ;)
Have you posted a short 'how to' about it? I'm rather heavy handed and want some pointers ;)
Another cracker :-* :-* :-*
Wonderful stuff Paul.. ;D
Another cracking entry to the Upsheet Creek hall of fame. Looking forward to more.
May I suggest the builders are represented by Gamer Mac and AndyM?
Thanks, chaps!
Have no fear, the Brothers Mac will be resident in Town.
They are on the list.
;)
Woo hoo! Another tick on the bucket list! :D Fair enough the only items on the list were...
1. Get mentioned in a building on Masons board.
2. Die!
;)
:-* :-* :-* wonderful work Paul. Very tempted to get back to my 'other' project, the one which includes the Loch and the tower. Must resist...Well for a little while ;D
Another lovely build, now I understand that the Captain took over from the last Optometrist as he left to join a travelling show as a knife thrower...nothing heard form him since!
Much better, all coloured-in and stuff!
I am sure that you will agree....
Thanks Mason - my cosncience is duly eased! I have a couple more models to paint for the posse now, so the pressure's on before the next game again ;)
Good job Bert!! I hope you thrashed Mason.
I bet he had some lucky post game rolls. Another hero was it Mason?
..... they only one I worry about is the one with a bunch a bananas hanging from his belt in the second picture lol
Wonderful stuff Paul.. ;D
May I suggest the builders are represented by Gamer Mac and AndyM?
Awesome lookin' stuff. The crime has been cleansed from public memory! lol
Great so we get the cowboy builders :?
Others are not such 'strange' names but are difficult to drop into an Old West setting and require a little 'artistic license , hence why I shall be going with the Mac Brothers for you two.
I hope that you do not mind.
So there's got to be an apple on the sign...? ;)
Good job Bert!! I hope you thrashed Mason.
I bet he had some lucky post game rolls. Another hero was it Mason?
Paintings improving all the time, my man.
"somebodys dropped one."
Well done Bert, I always hate seeing unpainted figures in a game.
From one who must be one of the slowest painters around.
I have a similar selection of Black Scorpion minis, they only one I worry about is the one with a bunch a bananas hanging from his belt in the second picture lol
Awesome lookin' stuff. The crime has been cleansed from public memory! lol
Before I pop up the piccies from the last game, I thought that now would a good time to show the Town set-up as it is now with a couple of more buildings etc in place.
Looks great
No problem with the name. Proud to be included, anyway, with a cracking build.
Name and shame the list of attendees and the LAF collective may be able to help ;D
Having been lucky enough to play on this table I can definitely say it looks the absolute nuts! Another brilliant job, Mason, thanks for your inspired genius, sir. 8)
That looks bloody brilliant! I can't wait to see it.
The town looks really great!
Not sure how I missed this monster thread. Nice looking table there and great naming of items :)
The table setup looks great!
Have you thought about making tumbleweeds. You cannot have a shootout without some tumbleweed blowing across the street.
That table looks excellent homeboy 8)
Looking good.
Needs more cattle!!!
so when and where is BLAM??
I have to say that your individual buildings are great but seeing the all together :o :o. That is possibly the best Old West town set-up I have seen (notwithstanding the very the high standard of modelling here on the LAF). I can't wait to see it in the flesh.
I guess that you have been far too busy painting all those Weird War beasties....
....I could have done without finding your Upsheet Creek thread though as I've been trying to resist starting Westerns for about 6 months... I can feel my willpower crumbling and I've not even started on the SA terrain yet! Curse you and your threads of inspirational doom! ;)
You're so bloody quick, Paul!
Of all your Western minis, the Mountain Men & Lady are my favorites; even their name is cool...somewhere in the back of my mind, Dueling Banjos is playing. They look FANTASTIC wandering the streets of your LOVELY town. GREAT STUFF!
...... now I understand that the Captain took over from the last Optometrist as he left to join a travelling show as a knife thrower...nothing heard form him since!
What a fantastic town Mason. You have pulled them all together and given the town a rustic but hopeful atmosphere. Very impressive sir.
Where's the train? They must be running on city rail timetables, and not Japanese efficiency.
The train is running late because there's the wrong type of sand on the line ;)
.... I understand that the Captain took over from the last Optometrist as he left to join a travelling show as a knife thrower...nothing heard form him since!
I really wish I could be at BLAM, again. Hopefully, next year I'll be able to afford it, if ya gents'll allow me entrance. Been far too long, with house purchase, and unemployment, requiring me to cut back on gaming expenses...
You're always welcome Nils :)
Before I introduce the Good Captain, let me refresh your memory regarding Lowtardog's earlier post....
...and now to introduce the man himself...
Capt. Dickie Blood Esq.
Former Captain in the Union Army and now the Optometrist to Upsheet Creek and its environs.
Bearing in mind that this figure was bought painted on ebay, from the Steve Dean Forum (I do not know if it was actually painted by him...?) with Captain Blood in mind, I think the resemblance with the fella in the first piccie is remarkable, dont you?
:D
Uncanny Mason lol Fortune teller extra-ordinaire methinks ;)
The resemblance both to the photo and the man himself is uncanny ;)
lol
Nowhere near handsome enough!
lol
Not bad, not bad.
Be warned, my own posse of optometrically challenged gentlemen shooters is in the paint queue...
I really wish I could be at BLAM, again. Hopefully, next year I'll be able to afford it, if ya gents'll allow me entrance. Been far too long, with house purchase, and unemployment, requiring me to cut back on gaming expenses...
You're always welcome Nils :)
Thanks, Nick! :)
I really hope to be able to attend, again. With my sister-in-law living in London, I might even be able to fit in a small family vacation over there-
But, we digress, lets turn our attention back towards Mason's fantastic Old West scenery!
Uncanny Mason lol Fortune teller extra-ordinaire methinks ;)
I actually think I remember Dickie's facial hair as a tiny bit more greyish >:D ;)
Otherwise, it's a very good merger lol
(http://i1087.photobucket.com/albums/j478/themason73/themason73094/CaptBloodandNewpaintedstuffforebay012_zpsa4c98272.jpg)
Capt. Dickie Blood Esq.
Former Captain in the Union Army and now the Optometrist to Upsheet Creek and its environs.
Very nice Captain Blood, no googley eyes? o_o
This may be weird, but the good captain was in my dream this morning. I was at a 'local' train/gaming store looking for a bargain, when lo and behold the captain blood appeared. Not as dapper as Mason has developed, but very friendly. You kindly lent me your fantastic knife to cut plastic as I was/am having difficulty with thick styrene. I then complimented the captain on his 100YW thread. ;) lol lol lol :D
Oh dear Paul! :-*
What you just produced in a couple of months, would take the most of us 4 years...
Dickie does have that Ben Turpin look to him. To whoever painted him...GREAT WORK!
Haha, I dont see the slightest resemblence - much too stylish! lol
I think it is time for a line-up of the inhabitants so far soon, dont you?
:D
One word: Bloody marvellous!! :-*
I think so! It's almost like a dating game lineup.... which inhabitant is behind curtain number one?
I'm glad your worried to, ;) consider my my shock! I've dreamt of computer games, but this is a first. Haha. Too much time on LAF perhaps? ??? :o ;D
More piccies Mason! Bring out the inhabitants. :D
One word: Bloody marvellous!! :-*
That's two words. :D :D But I concur.
Bugsda's Bog ;)
It may be small, but is The Most Popular building in town...especially if you only have one. VERY WELL DONE!
Yep, that'll become real popular. lol
If there is only the one outhouse it might even be the source of the upsheet creek...
If no one claims it, I will allow the thunderbox to bear my name... :D anything for a piece of the upsheet creek action.
Nice!
Those PDF buildings are looking really good with a lick of paint on them.
I won't be at BLAM but I'm sure my name fits the bill for that buildings usage ;)
The Outhouse...
Bugsda's Bog ;)
Never did that privy serve a finer purpose than attending to the needs of the citizenry of Upsheet Creek! It looks right at home, especially with that re-base Mason (I am assuming you have re-based it since it last appeared in Krappeforte?). It looks right at home. Reminds me of that scene in Unforgiven where the second victim gets his ignoble end in the outhouse. Marvellous! :D I look forward to using it...
As cover of course!
Bert AKA Rumpo
Yep, that's about right lol
Nice khazi Paul 8)
I demand Dr. Elbows "Arthritis Balm" wagon... :D (or any other suitable joint related tonic, or salve).
It seems that there are a growing number of folks looking to move into town.
There are already a couple of wagons queueing up to get in.
;)
I shall add your name to the 'waiting list'...
:D
More LAFers could be added in the form of Wanted posters or advertising posters/stencilled onto side of building adverts.
Oh and the crapper should definitely be the Gut Bukkit lol
you need this chap from comfy chair sitting on his throne when the door creeks open ;D
(http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-DxtDZsV5VTQ/UuVdM4mVQRI/AAAAAAAAYe8/DcWA5YHRDlA/s1600/jingles+extreeeeeme!.jpg)
That has definitely given me a (horrific) idea for when my town gets its own outhouses. The poor folk's of Schitte Creek are having to use the creek, so the town is definitely living up to its name.
Not to be confused with this here Upsheet Creek which seems a much fancier, classier place ;)
Lowtardog.... :o :o :o
That is truly one of the most disturbing thing that I have seen for some time.
Thanks for that....ya sicko!
;)
GW also had some disturbing dioramas and models back in the day (http://realmofchaos80s.blogspot.co.uk/2012/12/the-madness-within-little-known-gems-of.html) ;)
If you're going for that level of realism how will you characterise the bordello?! :o
Hmmm, is Mama Mute's Ladies Outfitters really a front for Mama Mute's Fit Ladies!!
I shudder to think what may be in store for those of us not yet imortalised. :o
Steve's Disposals - balaclavas and army disposal?
Sweet balaclava Steve's baklava :)
Balaclava's Mexican wrestling ring.
Couldn't help myself.
Damas'cus Steel Wholesalers, for that knife in your life!
Damas'cene Jewellery and Bullion Dealer
Damas'k Silks
Ooooooh I love a well finished duster ! 8)
They are tasty 8)
Wow, they're nicely painted. Lovely browns. Great purchase.
Nice work! Painting is really improving.
Some good suggestions, Kev, but not what I was thinking, exactly......
Take a look at some of the other names and then consider that if I go with one of your suggestions I could be accused of being 'too nice'.....
....and we couldn't have that, could we?
:D
I am thinking that you may well be another 'travelling salesman' to add to the list.
;)
A good investment there Paul. You have bought the work of one of the masters of the miniature painting art, and at quite a good price considering.
(I was sorely tempted myself, but am now painting my own posse which will appear at some point in the LPL, and in Upsheet Creek in due course :D)
something like 'Lawless Solutions' - "domestic dynamite for domestic pest control."
For Steve:
'Stephen "Silent Invader", Travelling Proctologist'. :o
Don't blame you at all for picking those up they are great.m
I think you got a bargain with those guys, whatever the price! They are really nice work
Nice little score there Mason. :) Nicely picked up and since they are painted you have no issue with a growing lead pile.......
Nice to see additions to the sheet creek though. Keep em coming.
Gorgeous fellows...makes my Black Scorpion guys feel all...awful. lol Your project is fantastic.
They really are very nice indeed!
........especially with your LoTR campaign your supposed to be working on... ;)
Mum's the word.
In that case... How about your train??? :D :D
lol lol I thought I may get that response lol lol lol lol
Good stuff fella, good stuff 8) 8)
Love the last town shot, oh so many pages ago lol
but I did manage to find time to slap some paint on a few bits of 'street furniture' yesterday.
They can be just scattered around the streets for a bit of cover, but one of the smaller piles may be added to the Hardware Store base.
Excellent. Love the tea chests in particular.
Like them! Those taller ones could be vvery useful for gaining access to building roofs.
I also leave a few "ladders" around , just in case anyone wants to scale a building! any water troughs planned for you guys to hide in or behind?
Good idea mate and, of course, stolen :D
Good jop on those crates, mate :)
So if you have a lot of cluttering line of sight blockers, will this mean that all houses will have a full interior? ;)
Nicely done, very similar to what I have done.
I used ladders in my last game which where used by a figure hiding in a bell tower, a good vantage point unfortunately the bank robbers legged it in the other direction.
Gorgeous stuff as always. I'm about to place another order with Ainsty (or Recreation Conflict) for some more stuff to use for other games. I can't get enough of their boxes/crates etc. Heck I think I even have some hiding in a box somewhere.
I love the Brian's Mum figure! Lol. Whoever stacked them boxes is a "very naughty boy!"
I really appreciate the liberal use of theft in lead adventure, helps being people together.
As my art teacher pointed out, it's not theft, but appropriation.
My art lecturer said, 'Poor artists copy. Great artists steal'
Great clutter Paul - used a load of Ainsty stuff myself - its very generic
Can I suggest that Eric's Shed is a purveyor of such stuff :D
And doesn't have an evil clone to do Pilates and building projects. >:D
Poor Mason has no time for the fiddly stuff right now, he's busy laying track for the town. And doesn't have an evil clone to do Pilates and building projects. >:D
Nice boxes.
I have your address somewhere >:D
You'll never catch me bibbles! Shipping is too expensive ;) :D
My art lecturer said, 'Poor artists copy. Great artists steal'And my lecturer said "Poor artists copy, great artists steal, geniuses denies" ;)
Great stuff mate, nice and subtle 8)
Looks fantastic, mate. The goods for sale look brilliant
Holy crap Mason, your work is just more fantastic with every project! I have a nice little western gang that I use with my mates here in NL. They also have some very nice setups, but I dont think even combined as many buildings as you do!
Just fantastic stuff!
Oh Er, that's the duck's nuts! :-* :-*
That looks blooming fantastic Paulo!
I like the lanterns and the pan. Are the lanterns full of oil? And will they burn if shot at? The poor person going in/firing out would be flaming lucky to escape unharmed ;)
And my lecturer said "Poor artists copy, great artists steal, geniuses denies" ;)
Looking lovely, Paul! :-* Damn, this is starting to look like a town now. So, isn't it time for something else when this project is 90% done? ;)
Absolutely fantasmagorical.
Keep those ideas coming.
:-* :-* :-* Outstanding!
only just caught up with this. I've been dancin' this morning ;)
It looks great, I think my favourite of all your builds. I love the clutter. Brilliant. ;D
MamboMute. :D
VERY NICE!
Just wish I could paint as well as you!
Just gathering the last of my "wares" to finish mine off. I like the shelf above th edoor...may have to pinch that.
Holy Uncanny Photographic Mental Processes Batman! o_o
Brilliant, work of art. :-*
When do we get to see the set-up of whole glorious Upsheet Creek in one photo?
Fantastic :-* clutter certainly does give more character than a plain building. About time I added some to mine. My favourite building yet (apart from maybe the Gut Bucket lol).
One word, Mason - 'ansome! 8)
Thanks, Twinkle Toes!
:D
You can call me snake hips ;)
Oh get a room you two... does Upsheet Creek have a hotel yet? ::)
lol lol lol
It does indeed, it just needs painting.
:D
So maybe mr. Snake Hips could be the proprietor of the hotel then? lol
So, isn't it time for something else when this project is 90% done? ;)
Do we not all suffer from this affliction?? :D
Love the dressing on the building, it really makes for a characterful setting. Mr Shed is looking well too!
That shop looks well used! Great stuff! Your set dressing never fail to impress! o_o o_o
Love that building, full of character :-* :-* :-* :-*
Do we not all suffer from this affliction?? :D
No, for me it's when I'm about 10% through a project lol
Anyway, while my attention is still with the Old West I am going to continue.
I was meant to start work on this some time ago....
....but I did make a start today.
Cheers, Chaps.
You are no slouches yourselves.
It was that Zep of yours that made me notice this forum in the first place.
The Bros. Mac will be coming to town soon, I just have to source a couple of things to make it work... ;)
:o :o ??? Does that mean there will be a zeppelin tower/ aircraft hanger in Upsheet creek to accommodate the 'Wright' brothers Mac? ;) :D :D :D Go on... lol
You need a wolf too... ;) :D lol
You need a wolf too... ;) :D lol
You need a wolf too... ;) :D lol
And your "kylähullu" too ;)
lol
I had this in mind, western style of course, if and when I do a western town
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ye_E3_ik9gQ
Kylähullu translates directly as the village crazy/loonie, so term could be village idiot, of some sorts.
That looks TERRIFIC. There are still General Stores that look like that one around here...come to think of it, there were a few around where I lived on Long Island. It's an attactive addition to your town. VERY WELL DONE!
For some reason, I've found myself singing a certain [noembed]Weird Al song (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YtKHBtqulOA)[/noembed] recently.
Hmm, purple frontage, what will it be? It's probably too small for a knocking shop. I want to say printers/newspaper office, but for no good reason!
Adult 'bookshop'? ;D
I've just realised that there may be a cryptic clue in the thread heading 'the builders'!
I assume you will be adding several unfeasibibbly large extensions to the building, all in various stages of completion. :D
But why purple :(
Is my figure a Kris Kristofferson look alike from a certain vampire film ???
Just make sure you drybrush the purple with a hint of white ;D
What is wrong with a purple frontage?
Does it offend you?
;D
I prefer pink ;D
That figures, Flossy.
All that flower arranging gives you away.
:D
Cant do pink, though.
Mama Mute's is the only establishment in town that will be pink.
;)
Good! lol
Looks great. I hope they invested wisely at Maa Mutes first. :D
I hear that must have spent a few dollars, as Miss Pitstop is very fussy and Mama aint cheap.
(Or so I am told....)
Not at Salute, Mate?
Upsheet Creek looks mighty fine in those pics :-*
A nice idea; a building and terrain feature combined. I think the LAFer for this will approve!
A 28mm Hindenburg??! :D ;D
Awesome as always. I've been putting off doing a bunch of fence sections...which I should be doing. lol
Looks good already Paul!
Can't remember if you have mentioned earlier but how do you make the buildings, do you have a cardboard, plasticard etc frame first which you then clad with balsa?
Matt O'Keyshee? lol
Matt O'Keyshee? lol
brilliant !
...... I'm looking forward to seeing what goes in the empty lot next door.....
It took me longer than I care to admit to get the wordplay. Very nice!
Perhaps you should add a cat lording it over the yard.
As an added bonus the man himself seems pleased and has offered to send me something very interesting to put in the yard as it fills up.
:D ;)
Cheers, mate!Never took you for an Arsenal supporter ;D
:D
Some WIP pics from this afternoons work on the baseboard for the Builder's before the FA cup intervened....
Never took you for an Arsenal supporter ;D
Damn, you're bloody quick Paul! And doing it good by the way :-*
I'm looking forward to seeing what goes in the empty lot next door.[/b]
The empty lot is going to be the 'Builder's Yard', and shall be filled with all kinds of 'builders' stuff as and when I buy it, paint it or find it.
I aim to keep adding to this in the same way as the Hardware Store.
There really is no need for that sort of abuse, you git!*snap* Forgot you were forever blowing bubbles ;D
>:( >:(
For the record: In that particular match I was a Wigan supporter for the day.
:D
*snap* Forgot you were forever blowing bubbles ;D
To be honest mate, you got a zillion houses, a board and loads of minis. How much are you really putting in the BLAM event?! :o
I am quite new to the site, where and when does BLAM take place?
BLAM is an annual event, that is held just outside London, where a group of British LAF members (and a few from overseas) meet up and take turns to put on games for others to play.
It takes place over the course of a weekend, Fri-Sun, and usually involves getting together for games, eating and drinking.
It is an invite-only thing at present due to a lack of space.
If you would like to be added to the 'list' for future attendance, give me a shout via PM and we can add your name to it.
*snap* Forgot you were forever blowing Bibbles ;D
And once again: No!
I am not wearing a sheepskin coat for you.
;D
Wise decision
They can be a nightmare to clean
He does do it rather well though ;Dlol lol lol
Paul - this would look great for your western board...its 1/50 scale

I reckon you could scratch one bud! ;)
Always fancied building one of them :)
cheers
James
Paul - this would look great for your western board...its 1/50 scale
Always fancied building one of them :)
You just couldnt resist the "upsell" could you? You had to make yours bigger, with guns, and anti-grav devices. You should make the Shield Helicarrier ;D
Eric and Digits, he isn't allowed to until he has built his train line! :D Isnt that right Paul ;)
Somebody is bound to do a laser-cut kit for a steam paddler any day now, methinks.
Won't be the first time Mason has been steamed, and ended up with the paddle...
:D
Won't be the first time Mason has been steamed, and ended up with the paddle...
:D
Well, that as they say, appears to have killed the conversation - sorry guys :'(
I don't want any additives! :o
I was waiting until later to respond to that little remark as I have an update that I am working on, but...:
Ah! I should have known where the barriers went, they were rather nice. :D
Great idea, they work really well.
Nice! These will come in very useful.
Damn! I should never have got rid of them - such nice pieces :'(
;)
very cool - cant wait to see all this in the flesh - 5 months to go :)
Ah, so by the street trash you didn't mean the BLAM attendees ;) lol
Ah, so by the street trash you didn't mean the BLAM attendees ;) lol
That was my first thought as well!
Those look great already Paul, how many more do you need or want to have?
Deffo looking great Paul 8)
Mmmm...tasty tasty detritus...time to order some more (well, once I paint the spares i have). Nicely done!
lol glad she approves Paul, I do too. :)
Looking good Pablo. :)
Looks great mate.
Every time I see her in the pictures it makes me think of the match maker from Fiddler on the Roof... lol
I'm familiar with that character, just not the first one I think of for some reason.
Looking good Paul!!
Great stuff mate 8) 8)
Those bits of bits look great with a tickle of paint on them (I wanted them as well :-[ )
I do still have one that I did not convert. You can have it if you want it.....
Any progress will be reported here....
Nah, I'll make my own (need to do it for the eventual Boxer range anyway) :)
I rather like the woodpile. It could give a good vantage point for someone.
Yep, or roof access with a bit of a yump...
The actual character that she is based on is from Monty Python's Life of Brian, which may not be so well known outside of the UK...Monty Whatsit? Life of whowhatwhere? Never heard of it... But then again I live in mouse country, where a man can ride for days and days without seeing his aunty.
Monty Whatsit? Life of whowhatwhere? Never heard of it... But then again I live in mouse country, where a man can ride for days and days without seeing his aunty.
:'(
:o That is looking good. 8)
I don't think it's too large, but it's certainly a tidy pile. The proprietor must have minor OCD, and not be afraid of termites infecting his goods and eating his shop. Perhaps he should raise his stock off the ground on bricks, and keep it from touching the store. ;) lol
Lovely
I bet matt o keyshi does a nice line in cork buildings
All looking very good, Mason. I look forward to being shot behind/within/on top of this new terrain! 8)
Really loving this model bud. The wood pile is a great stepping stone to the roof for sure.
Nice job.
That's an impressive collection of top-notch models you have Mason!
:o
I think that you have all provided rock solid evidence that you are all stark, raving bonkers!
In fact I think you all several pebbles short of a landslide.
He's well hard.
And a diamond geezer
Thanks, chaps......I think.
::)
I think that you have all provided rock solid evidence that you are all stark, raving bonkers!
In fact I think you all several pebbles short of a landslide.
;D ;D
lol
How long can this madness go on for....?
::)
Until it hits rock bottom..? (I'll get my fedora)
It looks like you are giving us the finger :D
It looks like you are giving us the finger :D
But which one and where! Now that is the question! o_o
Oh, and bloody lovely miniature crafting there Mason! TEnd to forget the applause in all this sometimes...
:-* nice rock!
I like the basing flock, and tufts. It looks very natural. Ol Texas in spring! Where's that railroad buddy?
Righty ho.....seeing as all you fellas are completely out of silly Rock puns it is time to move on.
I have finally finished the Builder's Yard.
Well, I say finished but I will go back and add two more things, but there is nothing to stop it being used as it is right now.
Here is a brief preview piccie....
I know it is a little blurry but I will post some proper pics tomorrow.
:D
Brilliant :-*
:-* you rock the purple mason, nicely finished. I like the tarp on the wood pile. :)
I really was not happy with that roof, so added a discarded tarp and a plank of wood for effect....or is that a temporary 'repair' gone awry...?
Looks really good Mate, can't see anything wrong with it. :)
Or then pretty strong winds in Upsheet Creek :)
Great piece of terrain all in all. Now, what's next then?
You mentioned the train, so it has to be the train 8)
Looks really good Mate, can't see anything wrong with it. :)
The only issue I have with it is that it isn't mine! It looks really good; very playable. The plank and tarp on the roof works well.
Wil Jimi Hendrix feature?
I think he'd look great - I always saw him as sort of an african american indian.
I think it will be the train, track and station as a certain someone has been nagging for a while now... ;)
Oh good to hear Paul, all my Christmas's have come at once. Train, track, and station!! :) I will be a happy man :D THANKS Poco ;)
Cheers
Matt
Right!
>:D
Just because you are all being bleedin' funny buggers I think I will do the Sheriff's gaff next.
:D
They would have a sheriff in a town without a train, track and station? ::) ;)
Sheriff's gaff does sound as a good alternative for the next build though, hurry up with it already!
Looking forward to seeing what you do with this one!!
Phil
I was very tempted by that building myself, but I got one in my eBay job lot. This will look good with the Mason touch!
I may even get it done by tomorrow.....
Looking great!
A+
Nice! I like the weeds coming through the boardwalk.
Nicely done.....needs a wanted poster or two though! Lol
Looks liken the sheriff is out of town with a run down HQ like that, I guess he's waiting for the train to arrive in town before setting up shop and cleaning out the cobwebs. ;) :D
It looks pretty cool Mason 8) nice run down effect. I'd imagine wanted posters drifting over the floor inside and out, more than neatly posted to the wall.
I wonder who the sheriff is?
Well Silent Invader is a Marshal(l)...
Close enough ;)
Well Silent Invader is a Marshal(l)...
Close enough ;)
It is NOT Silent Invader*.
The Sheriff will be revealed as soon as I sort the new sign out.
Looks liken the sheriff is out of town with a run down HQ like that, I guess he's waiting for the train to arrive in town before setting up shop and cleaning out the cobwebs. ;) :D
The Sheriff's digs do look SPLENDID! AND, you have a real flair for the flora. VERY WELL DONE!
I thought that was pretty clever!
But alas, no!
I'll have to check the list and have a guess. I like your guessing games!
Excellent work mate :-* :-* :-*
Well, from both of you really :)
I think the Sheriff will be the Prof :D
Looking after everything as he does :)
I bet the sheriff arrives with the first train to Upsheet Creek, to bring law and order :)
Looking great Paul, my vote goes also for few wanted posters here and there.
You've certainly got a way with adding character to your buildings.
Ive got a sheriff office awaiting construction, I will take a few pointers from yours.
It is BLAM attendees only at present, so cannot be the Prof.
Unless you know something that I dont..... ???
The building looks gorgeous by the way. Incredible how well a bit of simple basing and set dressing helps set it off...
I've lost track of who is proprietor of which Upsheet Creek establishment so far... o_o
Am I still the hairdresser? (Bugger!)
Weren't you the optician?
iffy.
I had a look at the BLAM list and I really can't guess! If I have to I'd say Grimm or Ray Earle as they sound sheriffy.
An up to date list would be nice :D
(Think of it as the Upsheet Creek Chamber of Commerce directory... )
;)
This is a great thread; it's fun! :D
Grimm's Laundry?
Ray Earle Land Agent?
Excellent job Mason, git yer a tin star for that one ole' hoss :-*
I almost love your work on the sheriff's building. My reservation is the stucco element on the what appears to be the jail side of things. Not sure why but it just seems 'off'. I know stucco is a very old technique but for some reason it isn't resonating old west for me, doubly strange since it is essentially the same as coated adobe. Go figure. Otherwise, excellent job.
An up to date list would be nice :D
(Think of it as the Upsheet Creek Chamber of Commerce directory... )
;)
You're the sheriff aren't you :D
For the last few named characters, just buy a pack of FPW Prussians ;)
:D
I just hope that they have a sense of humour.
;)
They bought Commando magazine... I don't think humour is an issue ;)
This is all a form of voodoo isn't it? We're all doomed to suffer the fates of our characters! :D
Quite an undertaking mate. Let me know if you want any help sourcing figures. I don't need to know who they're for (it'll spoil the surprise) just what you need.
Intriguing!
Blue moon from Old Glory UK has a guy that could be a bald barber but its part of a set of Tombstone civilians for £30

lol
It is rather dangerous being the sheriff Mason. I hear it is much safer being the deputy as he gets shot less. Or so Mr Marley tells me.
Sounds like a barrel of laughs all around. This colonial certainly wishes his commonwealth 'lords' a jovial day at the upcoming gala.
Ha! You will never find anything even remotely awesome enough to replace me!
lol
I want to be in charge of the paint store. That's the first real chemistry!
Looking swell!!! :D
Now that is spot on; beautiful job Paul. I'm sorely tempted myself, increasingly so now I've seen yours.
Looking good. :-*
It must be the season for rock formations, been working on a load myself ;D
That rocks, Mason! :D
:D Glad to see you finally caved in to the GF9 rocks lol
You done a cracking job on that one and as always you've gone one step beyond just tarting it up a bit.
I've been keeping a selection of these and some aquarium rocks on my eBay watch list for some time. I suppose I'd better buy them soon as I may need them for BLAM. Yours certainly looks good (mine will need repainting too to fit in). June will probably be rock month for me.
Anybody know why the little Badlands rocks are impossible to get?
Guess What???
Definitely small Buttes.
Very nice...my only beef is that unless you have other rocks you really need several of the big ones to cover any part of a table. However, great stuff and while they're a bit specific, I'm sure I'll end up using them in other theaters too.
That's big ballast Paul, not sure a train track will fit over that ;D
I think the missus was right about it being easily confused with a dries cow pat, I'm glad the new pj has moved away from poo brown. :D
You have a nice selection of terrain to choose now :)
Egg and snot?
Guess why?
Boogie Pie
Lovey rocks!
Those are very, very nice 'rocks' - or are they 'mini-buttes'? Or are they mesas?
Definitely small Buttes.
Not Kardashian Buttes? Nice name for an OW town? ;)
I like small buttes and I can't deny...
Sheririf Mixalot
I like small buttes and I can't deny...
Sheririf Mixalot
Fnahahahaha!
MORE?! You want some More?
You may need another table at this rate Paulo. Perhaps commander bibbles mars tables and butts ;)
lol
The Trapper, The Barber and a Saloon.......
:D
...walk into a bar. Chatting together they stroll towards the counter, and promptly order 3 bourbons.
The barman replies...
"A Saloon??!"
sorry ;D it sounded like a good joke opening.
Nice hut.
That strange old lady (Mamma Mute?) does get around, doesn't she? ;)
Looking good Paul.
Looking around at old photos it would appear that many trappers dried furs on their shack walls. I have read about skins being stretched over timber frames but I've only seen images of them individually stretched.
There's some images on the link below:
http://montanakids.com/history_and_prehistory/Frontier_Life/trapping.htm
This is Mama Mute (on the left :D).....
She's showing far too much leg and cleavage. Hardly appropriate for a lady of high moral standards and a purveyor of the finest ladies fashions from Paris and London. ;)
Nice, who makes that little hut?
Perhaps a good plac for me to start building....
This site seems to show a rack:
http://www.mman.us/skinsfurs.htm
Cool! I'm well chuffed :D
I like helping with this, it's one of my favourite threads.
In Upsheet Creek, Elk hunts you.
Pegasus Mission Indians in 1/48 have stretched skins IIRC?
So many amazing updates!
Lovely stuff all around Mason!
Thanks Mason, I have seen their stuff. Do you think standard mdf laser cuts would be easier?
Nice rack, and I don't just mean mama Mute's mini...
:o
Nice scalps.... ::) ;)
lol lolAbsolutely, now where can you get 1:50 antlers? :D
Which is exactly what they are.
Elk just doesn't stop at the head....
;)
Absolutely, now where can you get 1:50 antlers? :D
They will look great on the walls!
Plain antlers shouldn't be impossible to sculpt over a bit of steel wire, though.
Nice skins Pablo, they work for me. Oh I do agree you must push some putty over wire armatures and make plenty of antlers. :D perhaps even a buffalo head or mounted stag! Or perhaps by the malifaux jackelope and stick that to a mounting board!
Arrrrrrgh!! Another mammoth thread to catch up on. Serves me right for being away.
It all looks cracking Mason. Looking forward to playing on it.
... But you are making the rest of us look bad.
To quote Blackadder.
Please please please. STOP.
what a Fantastic thread I am loving everthing I am seeing!!!!
Mr Mason you are a true artist.....
Panz

The man is a certified genius on the scenery table :-* (although we generally think he should be certified as a matter fo course, of course).
Nice beaver, is it a Brazilian? :DNot any more. :D
Nice beaver, is it a Brazilian? :D
Looks great mate. :) :)
Very nice indeed, very characterful. "Not exactly fur"? Intriguing!
Nice addition to the town
You could place some tanning vats there. Tanning leather is a vile job, that involves putting the animal hides into all sorts of chemical baths.
Not any more. :D
Great model. The 'fake' fur makes it.
I wonder what you do have in mind for the rear wall? Some native American association would certainly not be out of place.
Thanks, Gary.
Any idea what I have in mind for you?
;D
Or knowing my luck a collector of night soil. lol
Looking good fella. I need to do something similar for my teepee trader.
Given my avatar I would take a wild guess at a Chinese Laundryman. :` Or knowing my luck a collector of night soil. lol
Hu Rhu in the Night Garden. lol
For those of you without children, In the Night Garden should not be watched sober.
1/48 scale Antlers can be sourced from here - perfect for 28mm
http://www.shapeways.com/model/1545649/1-48-elk-and-deer-antlers.html (http://www.shapeways.com/model/1545649/1-48-elk-and-deer-antlers.html)
Not cheap but then Shapeways isn't always. There is a great Bear in Shapeways but exxy and I think it would be too big. OTT I'm looking for one for an Indian Canoe race game.
lol Is that actually a horse?
Paul, isn't Nick after some horses? lol
lol Is that actually a horse?
lol Is that actually a horse?
Looks like they pirated it from an Old Glory 28mm :D
I think it might be the fabled "magical" equestricorn.
A mythical beast that has the body of a unicorn and the head of a horse.... oh wait..
That cabin's the bollox, but yeah, lose the horse lol
lol Is that actually a horse?
At least it sheds some light on those Loch Ness Monster photos.
My money's on a pantomime horse.
Yup, if it were mine, that's EXACTLY what I'd do with it! Pantomime horse would be a cool addition!
Pictures to provide the evidence later.
:D
We shall be using a simple quick system that should be very easy for everyone to pick up.
That way the emphasis should be on doing the dirty to the other players and completing your own objectives without having to learn any fiddly rules.
You are describing my ideal wargames rules :)
Can't wait.
How much more? Why I can tell you that young man.
You need enough to fill my table too :D
I've been away for a while, and I love the progress on this Paul! :)
(Before the countdown starts: Shut up, Mama! :D).
There will be a little break in the progress on this for a while, as I sort out some real life issues.
Thanks, Skander.Take care mate, and I hope that the whole issues solves itself in one way or another :)
Good to see you back visiting this neck of the woods.
There will be a little break in the progress on this for a while, as I sort out some real life issues.
Any hobby time I have shall be confined to pushing putty around for a while.
I do have quite a long time to get all this done, so no problem.
;)
(Before the countdown starts: Shut up, Mama! :D).
Take care mate, and I hope that the whole issues solves itself in one way or another :)
Cheers, mate.
The issue should be resolved after the weekend, so I hope to get back into this at the start of next month.
Thanks for the support, chaps.
:D
Malingering faggot ;D
Malingering faggot ;D

There's no other way you bald short arse ;D
Malingering faggot ;D
We should be playing a test-game tonight, utilising the system that we will be using at BLAM.
:-* :-* :-*
That is a thing of beauty mate.
You must be very happy with that. :)
Upsheet Creek looks wonderful Paul! 8)
Great work, now we will have to wait for the BLAM and AAR.
That is one lovely looking set up!!!
Thank you, sir!
You even said that before the Crazy Viking comes to town.
He is on 'the list'.
Yeah, well, I don't suffer from a personality so I cannot be insulted. lol
That looks bloody beautiful,Paul :-*
I had real trouble identifying my old buildings! You've really done a blinding job on them!
Totally fantastic :o
(Ok, that is not Bibbles, just a women that was proxied to stand in for him for the evening.... :D).Heard so often.... :D
Lovely stuff :-* :-* :-*
Can't wait to get a shot (pun intended) on this :D
I'm very much looking forward to this.
looks stunning!
Great work
That's probably the best looking OW table I've seen on here so far. Well done!
Awesomesauce mate ;D
Heard so often.... :D
Looking great, can't wait to see my proxy.
It's great to come back to this... Sooo much great stuff. :-* :-* :-*
Add to that the Train and track (which looks damn awful in unpainted black plastic....)......
I also rectified the problem with the Track (I said 'Track', Bertie, ya hear me?).
Its looking really good, the whole town is pulling together, and works well as a whole. All your various details really add up and contribute to the atmosphere.
So when will you rectify the problem of no train Pablo? :D ;D
That is an amazing setup, Paul! :o
I love the clutternes! :-*
Brilliant. Wonderful to see a concept carried through with such dedication and bravado. Well done Paul. Looking forward to playing it in October.
The train will be finished before BLAM (Git! >:D)
I enjoy seeing all your efforts Paul, so I'm eager to catch more of a glimpse of your BLAM board via the confines of teh interwebs ...
Some one has to keep you on 'track' sir ;P
Add to that the Train and track (which looks damn awful in unpainted black plastic....),
Heard so often.... :D
:o :o
You are beginning to scare me, Bertie.
That sounds a little like the attitude of an internet stalker.
:o :o
They do the job mate 8)
Certainly better than scratch building them ::) lol
Very effective Paul. Works for me too. :D
No sir, just a connoisseur. ;) I'll leave the STALKERing for the professionals :D now get back to it and stop ya dilly dallying ;D
Again! You just come up with the best solutions.
Very nice tracks.
The Iron Horse trail looks great Paul 8)
Will you include a water tower with the station perhaps?
Oh, sorry 'bout that :D
So only station then and maybe a tiny house for the railroad staff perhaps?
Oh, and there will be a Choo-choo too, before anyone starts that lark again....
Right… ::)
Seeing is believing ;)
Really clever solution for making the track look more 'in place' and yet fully modular :)
Indeed. I've been holding off doing many feet of HO scale track for my Eastern Front WWII project and this might just be the wise example I've needed.
Stunning!
If you ever fancy doing another water tower please let me know ;)
Just fantastic stuff Mate! Really enjoy following your thread! :D
It's a great layout. Your set up really looks the part, it makes for a believable town.
Great looking layout.
I think the rail tracks through the centre of town brings them more into the game than being on the periphery. It gives the potential for allsorts of things to happen, with moving cover, gunfighters arriving or leaving, lots of baggage, cattle etc.
A lovely looking set up, can i ask what is the table size?
Say, are your roofs the ones from www.wildwestmodels.com ?
Actually, thinking about it, it's all crap and I hope I never get to play on it...
;) ;D
Love it really :D
::) James... lol
Looks FAB! :-* :-* :-*
Lovely set up, I was thinking of putting my track on the outskirts which seemed nicer but perhaps straight down the middle seems a more this town sprang up from the railroad and might die quickly realism! Really I need to set up my table and decide what buildings to keep and what to get rid of, then I can decide.
But the track thrpugh the twon centre does seem nice.
There was one western town that was counting on the railway to bring prosperity to it, only to find that the final route chosen took the tracks some 10 miles away from the town. They held a town meeting at which someone suggested 'Moving the town to the railroad' and they did !!!! Now that is some 'Get up & go' attitude.
Looking mighty fine Paul! Now, about that Iron Horse... ;)
Now you need to keep the same set-up/layout every time you game old west, otherwise it won't be the same Upsheet Creek :)
Are you planning on some form of campaign rules for it all?
Nice 8)
That's a lovely set up!
It's all coming together very nicely.
Long time ago, BC (Before Computers) a club I was in used to do a Western Gunfight about once a month. The organiser used to do a Newspaper, only a one page photocopy, but it was a hoot reading about the previous game. It also was useful to update new players & anyone who had missed the game. It can lead to:- extra scenery (the newspaper office); more figures,(the editor/reporter/photographer/type setter etc)and scenarios,(attempts to silence the free press e.g. Big rancher does not like what the Paper says about him).
The 'Upsheet Creek Chronical'?
Maybe the Upsheet Creek Chronicle is due an appearance (and a building).
Yeah but then you will another one to counter the outrageous lies and exaggerations that the Chronicle publishes!
Maybe that could be the Creek Paddle.
;)
Maybe that could be the Creek Paddle.
;)
You so have to do that!
Chronicle headline: "This town don't need the Paddle"
You so have to do that!
Chronicle headline: "This town don't need the Paddle"
"The Chronicle is History"
Down the middle of town is what I had decided for Calamity as well. It creates some very interesting ally ways and shortcuts.
That could be fun.
Rival gangs could be hired by the rival newshounds to destroy the others equipment....hmmm.....I like the sound of that.
;)
All part of the service!
I hope I never get to play on it...
This.
Only because it's a work of art that should be drooled over and not touched. ;)
This.
Only because it's a work of art that should be drooled over and not touched. ;)
Thats not what you said about Mason earlier..... ;)
Mr Cheeks is not as rude as some, so I do not believe a word you say, Mama, so put your claws away.
;D ;D
Are we talking about the same Thundercheeks ??? lol
Enough talk, it is high time that I got building again.
The Barbers SHOULD be next, but I may be distracted by some more rocks that I have gotten my hands on.
Just to get used to wielding a paintbrush again, of course....
The question is: Who is the Barber?
To those of you that already know: Lets not spoil the fun for the others, eh?
;)
;) Teeny Prodd... or is he the pimp in the cathouse? ;)
Nice!!!
I much admire your base work!
Paul, remind us who's left to be allocated a trade and a premises?
(So I can take a punt on who's going to get cast as the Upsheet Creek barber :))
- ah, how the long summer days fly by, with these tres amusant little guessing games, Mr Darcy... ;)
Paul I like the coffee stirrer idea for lifting the building off the ground I've been using wood that's far more expensive! Idea nicked!
Awesome work Mason.
This project is such a beast - what a labor of love.
I'm curious if the barber's a barbarian. o_o
Paul, remind us who's left to be allocated a trade and a premises?
(So I can take a punt on who's going to get cast as the Upsheet Creek barber :))
- ah, how the long summer days fly by, with these tres amusant little guessing games, Mr Darcy... ;)
Quite a workload still! :o
If you need a random encounter to spice up things even more, you can add El Pocoloco, the drunkard knife-toting Finn... erm, Mexican lol
Ha!
You will never make it! lol lol
Green Knight is not coming to BLAM, so you can cross him off your list of figures to source. Grimm is not sure whether he can get the time off work yet.
Do it! Do it! Do it!!! It's an awesome project matey.
That is COOL! Now I want to repaint mine. Is the sophistimacated barber of Danish extraction by any chance?
Hmmm. I think I have an idea of who it is :D
You are so damn efficient Paul! I might even see this thread as an inspiration and a whip on my arse to sort my stuff out!
I haven't even got half your list to finish. And I even have an airbrush to cheat my way through the process...
Any how, splendid job and I hope you'll have the energy to follow the whole project through! :-*
They WILL be done, it is getting the last of the figures finished that bothers me as my painting mojo has been misplaced for some time now and I cannot find it.... ::)
I haven't made any of the buildings I had planned for BLAM and now Bibbles and Dr De'Ath have sucked me into this 10mm Fantasy shit :o lol
Er, I think you started the 10mm 'sh!t', Franco-Prussian War ring any bells?
Its probably hiding somewhere with mine ::)
I haven't made any of the buildings I had planned for BLAM and now Bibbles and Dr De'Ath have sucked me into this 10mm Fantasy shit :o lol

Looking forward to see what you do with the railroad station as I've just ordered one from Sarissa.
Nope, it is not him.
:D ;)
Cheers, Skander.
I think....
I have never thought of myself as a whip for anyone's arse before.... :o :o
I am confident of getting this done for BLAM.
I have finished the Barber's (piccies taken tonight when I get back from work), so that only leaves two buildings.
They WILL be done, it is getting the last of the figures finished that bothers me as my painting mojo has been misplaced for some time now and I cannot find it.... ::)
Looking good Paul! If I didn't have to work I might have made it to BLAM,maybe next year(if you lot can stand a smelly old wolf :D).
German emigre Herr Kutt?
OR
I don't know his name but the fez is familiar....
I never had the Mojo. Please forward it when you're done with it ;)
Grimm.
Looking good Paul! If I didn't have to work I might have made it to BLAM,maybe next year(if you lot can stand a smelly old wolf :D).
Legionnaire Bert then?
lol lol
I've not met Bert (yet) so the hair clue passed me by quicker than his last haircut. :D
Lovely sign too.
Awesome work mate, that sign is the mutts :D
Outta here good!
Legionnaire gave it away. Only wiv a toad spellin'.
Now we need us a good ole hangin' or you's gonna loose yer follerin'.
Another great looking building :)
The Barbers Shop & it's background story are WONDERFUL...GREAT WORK!
I see that the Old Lady is still wandering the Town, probably in search of her shopping cart.
Great stuff Mason!!!
You said for a hanging we would have to wait for the Law to come to Town...? Well there is a place a few miles away called Tow Law.
Love paint job :-* :-* :-*
The sign is inspired :D :D
That's one beautiful Barber's Paul, excellent work! :-*
What are you planning for the picture on the sidewall? Snake-oil that makes hair grow back? Sharp scissors and other such utensils?
Yeah, I think a Hair tonic poster would be great.
That's not a hare, its a big Rabbit........
Super Paul, the sign works well to get the name you want, and the weathering is particularly nice sir. I agree that a stencil art sign or hand painted sign on the side would be appropriate. ... I think you have the skills for something truly smashing.
That ended up exceptionally cool!
Now move on. You're behind schedule and not making 2 miles of rail per day.
I foresee a vignette featuring a tree and two lengths of hemp..... :'(
Another fine mess you're getting yourself into, there! ;)
Joroas and I see ourselves more like:
.....but maybe a bit cooler....8)
Butch and the Kid also end up pretty dead... lol
Bert has come to town!! Awesome. Love it.
Keep the chair free for me Berty old chap. My barnett is getting rather long and unmanageable.
Aaaaaand I'll have a case of the tonic and something for the weekend please sir :D
I would like to think we look like these:
.........
But we probably are more like these:
.........
Butch and the Kid also end up pretty dead... lol
Seriously...?!?
I can honestly say that Bertie is amongst the last people on this earth that I would be letting near me with a pair of scissors!
What a scary thought!
:o :o
yep, given what a state I make of my own Barnet I wouldn't let me cut your hair either! But I AM cheap ;D
I am honoured with my Upsheet Creek avatar, Mason. I just hope I age as well in real life as the Legionnaire Bert the barber; that is a very natty beard. Wears a fez well, too. And the background fluff? Genius! :D Well pleased - and magnificent work on the building as per usual - a superb addition to the town.
Right, who's next for 'the usual'? ;)
Great! 8)
Nice mini and company logo, I bet mr. Cheeks (the real life version) is a happy chap now :)
Mr Cheeks!
He has not been called that since his last trip to the sorting office.
lol lol lol
I bet mr. Cheeks (the real life version) is a happy chap now :)
lol lol lol
Wow! Paul do you even sleep? :o :o :o
Lon
I think Mason's wardrobe is full of these...
....
I am indeed!!!! Thanks Masey me old chum, it's an honour to be part of the Creek. I've been watching Deadwood lately and it's hard to resist gaming this period.
Oh, and going to the sorting office is always a moment of dread for me these days lol
It really is going to be an amazing table. And it has been great watching the town grow.
I must get a game of this at BLAM! I have my own posse to bring for a little look -see round this Upsheet Creek place.
Now quit teasing and show us some action shots.
Thanks, Doc.
I hear that you shall be attending, so I will have to see about including you in the 'cast' as well now.... ::) :D
Great figure, he looks like he is armed with a Pepperbox revolver (which is nice) :)
Yes lovely mini, do you know who makes it?
I am really looking forward to hopefully playing on the table. With or without a 'mini-me'.
Here is the link for Agent H and other figures that may be suitable
http://ironcladminiatures.com/en/24-victorian-sci-fi-characters
Incidentally, my phone now recognises Upsheet in predictive text!
That is cool! The slow unveiling of the Upsheet Creek cast is fun. Incidentally, my phone now recognises Upsheet in predictive text!
lol lol lol good to see that our little electronic pets learn our likes. Upsheet works in mine too ;)
It's all looking very good.
Thanks Mason and BB
Oh smashing effort there Pablo, you are being very productive!!
I think he may need some of those t-shirts boys, perhaps take a few to BLAM lol Bibbles could do with one too while your at it :D
Far too clean cut for Paul (Overlord), although Paul (Matakishi's) namesake certainly calls the man himself to mind... :)
Wonderful stuff. Paul.
Can anyone see why meetings of the British Lead Adventure chapter are so confusing now...? ;)
At least I'm not adding to the confusion for once lol
Brilliant work Paulo
Game shots are the mutts mate ;D
Great looking game there Paul! :-*
Brilliant!
My boys are gonna have themselves a good old time in Upsheet Creek!
:o WOW :o
Looks f#*€ng amazing! Most definitely the nicest looking western town I have seen!
I bet a lot of fun was had on that table!
Game shots are the mutts mate ;D
cheers
James
As you can see, that train really does need a lick of paint and weathering...
It so sheet...... ;)
Totes, I'd say. :D
It looks great Pablo, can't wait to see it and play on it. :)
Splendid, can't wait to play on it at BLAM! :-*
Amazing!! :-*
A real triumph Paul.
This table is SO full of life and character. Again you lucky, lucky bastards who will be attending and playing on that.
It so sheet...... ;)
I'm not saying anything Pablo >:D you did lol
Lovely work Paul :-*
Fantastic set up Mason :o
Fekin gawgus old boy! :-* :-* :-*
Wow! I must say that it looks the whale's penis,
Wow! I must say that it looks the whale's penis, the buffalo's horns or or the elephant's tits... or some other hopeless British idiom. Splendid work!
Stop it you. lol lol lol
So glad I invested in a tea-proof keyboard and had a spare flatscreen in the cupboard. I'm sure the neighbours thought some heinous crime was going on over here.
...OR the Bee's Knees...or not! Whatever the expression is that is an UBERCOOL LOOKING gaming board. Have FUN at Blam!
All the little extras that you put in really do make it bloody awesome, mate
The attention to details is just mind boggling!
Oh spot on! That does look good.
*a pang of envy strikes*
You have a nice pallet of colours, shading and weathering. It all comes together seamlessly.
John Ford would have loved to do location scenes in that CINEMATIC environment. FANTASTIC WORK!
That Mexican posse looks striking in red! Who makes those figures?
that is the Bogs Dollocks matey :D
More great pictures. As you say though I think the electric light ones also have a certain quality.
I with the viking this really look 'the random appendage of the random animal'.
.......... and the Saloon is well under way.
Piccies of the progress shall be taken tomorrow.
:D
Nice work :-*
I have finished the new signs for the Barbers..........
You really do have some cracking buildings mate. :)
Here is a list
Violin.............Heifetz
Piano.................Lang Lang
Model Buildings..........Mason
These are all virtuousi.
'nuff said :D
WOOO! *Party Dance* Looking very spiffy Pablo! 8)
I must say that the 'Creek' is looking fantastic. Can't wait to see it in the flesh.
More Bog's Dollocks, although I can't help wondering about the term 'Man Salon' - sounds a bit dubious to me lol lol
This thread just keeps getting better
Haha, nice fig. I can see why he is called a B*****d, he runs his establishment with the end of his shotty. I imagine this oldest establishment has a few holes in the wall and stains that sawdust and time hasnt been able to erase. :D a big blast above the door announces to all who enter - tread lightly around the B@#$@#d. lol
Nicely done, sure wish I could be at BLAM to see the whole works.
Lovely work.
Some of the pigs from the LAF range are great and full of character.
Nice job there Paul and I really like the Swearengen angle!
I might have a solution to the pig shortage ... Give me a mo and I'll take a photo ;)
I bought these from Essex Miniatures but they might actually be by Hovels.
The two pigs are the same model - somewhat surly looking and painted as the Old Essex rare breed - alongside a TAG mini for scale.
If you'd like these Paul, I will very happily send them to you (though don't feel obliged ;))
Steve :)
Cheers, Burt!
Lets hope I get 'whole works' finished in time.
:D
Cheers, Colin.
I did consider them, but need to get hold of them quickly and SI seems to have a very cunning plan.
;)
Cheers, Steve.
I am glad that you approve.
You did a great job with the build, I got the easy job of slapping a couple of washes on it.
Cheers!
:D
Cheers, mate!
I shall take you up on that offer as they would be perfect.
:D
KAAW BLIMEY! That has turned out well. I'm loving the sign and the stone chimney. Nicely done there Steve and Paul.
What a kind gent, perhaps in honour of your patron "Sheet" should be changed to "Steve"? Up Steve's Creek ... lol .. on second thoughts perhaps not. ;)
Will Steve have some in game benifits at BLAM? A re-roll or two? Hahahaha
Great as usual.
Wonderful work :-*
B*astard is full of character... and characters if B*astard really has eaten those poor pigs :?
And his Place looks like a proper den for lowlifes... hmm... I meant respectable attendees of BLAM, of course :D
LAF pigs look good but Architects of War have a pack of 5 pigs, one of whom is sitting back on his haunches, very satisfied piggy indeed.
"Related topics" gives me Schitte Creek Saloon (http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=53566.0).
Can't argue with that.
lol lol
Yep, Gutbukkit has made me aware of the similarities, although I have also been informed that Schitte Creek is a lot rougher place than my little Town.
;)
Tom looks like he's about to shoot one for breakfast! :o
Schitte Creek is certainly very rough of late considering how I've neglected it for so long :(
Fantastic additions to your fine town Mason, this thread is a joy and inspiration.
Tom looks like he's about to shoot one for breakfast! :o
What a B@$7@&d! :(
lol
'Shoot one for breakfast'..... Now that is what I call a rash(er) statement.
Mmmmm pork scratching's.
I like your pig sty idea, I think I will add one to my Chinese laundry base a la Deadwood.
Should be very easy to build.
Will the stage 2 see another new building for the UC in a form of loonie house, if strange things start happening in the UC more often?
Dont mention the Laundry!
:o
That is one of the things on the to-do list, but it wont get done until the building of the Creek reaches Stage Two after BLAM.
::)
Damn, that was one of the buildings I was looking forward to at BLAM. :'(
To my shame, I had completely missed this thread. All I can say is bloody marvellous and up to the usual high standard we expect from Mr Mason.
Cheers for inviting me over, mate. Had a blast and look forward to having some more games at Upsheet Creek (Photos came out great but it looks so much better in 'real' life. Really blew me away!) :)
Well done lads :)
Looking forward to a game on this set-up myself in a few weeks time... :)
That comment has just made me realise that it is only a month away!
I had better get on with some stuff this week.... ::)
Yeah, thats four weeks!
Get on with it Slacker!
:D
I am really looking forward to shooting up Upsheet Creek at BLAM!
Ooooh!
Get her....!
Who rattled your cage, Mama?
;D ;D
Four weeks today! :o :o :o
You can stop that, right now!
>:D >:D
Three weeks and six days...
lol lol lol
lol lol lol
FFFFFFour weeks and counting!
lol lol lol
Well even less, it's almost Saturday here :D
tick tock
no train yet? ;D lol You will be fine, you have a bunch done already. Press on matey.
Three weeks and six days...
;) lol lol lol
I'm going to slap you (and it's not even my thread).
Start that on Doooorset and I'll nuke them >:D
See?
I am not the only one who thinks he is a plonker.
:D
lol
Its getting to you I can tell lol lol lol
Ps Whats a pink omment ??? lol
Should there be a yellow stripe down the side of the breeches, or is that pure Hollywood I'm misremembering?
Very nice paint job on one of my troopers 8)
Only for Officers and NCOs ;)
Haven't you made the Black Hills of Dakota yet? ;)
I've been consuming prodigous quantities of 'Hell on Wheels' via Amazon Prime, just to get in the Old West mood. I'm halfway through season two already... Very much recommended if you like cowboys, Indians, Jonny rebs and choo-choo trains.
Not quite 'Deadwood', but somewhat similar in places...

I love that show! It just keeps on giving... (or taking really!)
Ok some characters you may(or may not) be meeting in Upsheet Creek.
Some interesting characters there Jeff (and great paint jobs), who are they made by?
Ok, I have finished the Railroad Offie and platform.
Nothing special as I see it as how a station starts life.
Just a Railroad office and simple landing.
........
Pictures of the latest addition tomorrow, as I am waiting for the glue to dry....
lol
Great play on words!
I will resist the urge to remind you of the time remaining ;)
This is gonna be great!
A quick question; if we are bringing our own Old West gangs are there any requirements, such as minimum or maximum numbers, etc?
Hahaha! I admire your ability to find puns in our usernames. lol
Too bad you will never make it all.
Lovely work chaps,impressive!
OK, now I had to dig that figure out from the lead pile to join the one I had already put aside for use as a railway man (holding lantern aloft).
Looks great, all the growies etc really bring it to life. ;D
Cracking work mate and I love the word play (figure needs more of a belly though ;D )
Great addition to the town :-* :-* :-*
Cheers, mate.
Be careful, though, as I am undecided exactly which of two higures is going to be 'Bibbles'.... :D
Looks excellent,mate! Cracking job
A cracker! I'm liking the newly cobbled together station for the 'essentials'.
I was planning my own town and discovered that a small building wouldn't have a long enough platform to service the train?!?! Better to intentionally small rather than just coming up short ;)
Very nice; reminds me of the train stop in Sergeant Rutledge 8)
I have no 'belly' anymore ;D
Looking fab, Paul! :-*
While the work is excellent as always, I think Upsheet Creek deserves a real station.
Cracking work mate and I love the word play (figure needs more of a belly though ;D )
cheers
James
A couple of weeks? How many days, exactly? :D
Oooh, you bitch! :P
Very nice Mason, trains and plants, how could I not be impressed :D
Lovely characters - all of 'em - Mason.
(I thought Doug might have been the town undertaker but I guess that job might be done by Paul Bearer?)
Apologies in advance
and of course if Paul needed assistants (after all Upsheet Creek has a lot of dead bodies to handle) he could always hire Mort Isshun and Phil Graves?
Is this the Doug? Does he have a mule called Emma Four? (he thinks it's a nice name for a mule and can't be bothered changing it).
Doug......
Named for what he spends most of his time doing...
'What did you do in them there hills, Doug?'
'I dug 'em for gold.....
He has not had much luck finding gold, but he sure has a lot of joy adding to his collection of lead and tin.
;)
Lovely figure, but I don't recognise it. Where's it from? Cheers
Thanks, I've briefly looked at Tiger Miniatures and they've got some nice stuff.
Considering how Dirk spells my name on the Future Wars board, I'm lucky not to be represented by a baguette.... lol
Regardless - Mason, what can I say? I'm truly, er.......
Doug (making the arrogant assumption that he is The Doug).
ps - can you confirm your vpostal address to make the job of my ;awyers that much easier...? :D
I'm looking forward to seeing this at BLAM - I may have to pinch some ideas for my town :)
'Doug 'em for gold...' ;)
hahahahaha BRILLIANT! Well played sir.
Oh do please show us more :D
Brilliant! Another cracking figure. Who makes that one?
I can't tell you who makes the figure...but I can say this: that guy's probably a dick*.
*:referring, of course, to the figure, not the mystery sculptor.
I'm pretty sure it's one of Mike Owens not Gangs of New York figures from Brigade Games.
And yet another excellent addition to Upshot Creek.
Bullshott.
Barman, bouncer and all round assistant to Tom the B*stard, Bullshott is one of the fixtures at the Bastard's Inn.
He is as well known for his 'hair of the dog' restorative, the Bull-Shot, as he is for his trusty plank of hardwood for keeping the rowdier customers in line.
(Hope dont mind too much, Dave...)
Brilliant! Another cracking figure. Who makes that one?
"Little Nicky"? ;D
I like it :)
What's the little fellow's name?
Jimmy? :D
"Little Nicky"? ;D
lol lol lol
We have a winner :D
That can't be right!!.....should the wee boy not be holding a Mars background instead of a crutch? !? ;)

That can't be right!!.....should the wee boy not be holding a Mars background instead of a crutch? !? ;)
I think your right Andy, It seems Pablo forgot to paint a 1/48 landscape on the 'head' of the stick. :D
lol
The cross floats into the box and it's Svennn with a volley into the top corner! :D
But..!?lol
The Cavalry always arrives in time - And trains are never on time.
I am completely confused o_o
I think something like this might cause a tear in the space time continium.
But..!?

Lovely Cavalary, Paul! :) Pity that I'm missing BLAM due to all that is work, family and family :( I usually curse myself for having kids every time there's an event I'm missing out on...
But..!?

They're taking a Japanese train?
I cannot wait for the real chaos that will occur in a week's time.
Quality stuff! But who is the sheriff?
The list.
Or should I say the Upsheet Creek Chamber of Commerce...
There are some 25+ participants at BLAM, all of which will be a character in the game with a figure to represent them.
There will also be thirteen 'named' buildings relating to some of the characters.
I may do more but thirteen is the target for buildings in time for BLAM.
Starting with the buildings, so far there are the following:
The Hardware Store (Eric the Shed)
The Ladies Outfitters (Malamute)
The Bath House (jimbibbly)
The Physician (Dr De'ath)
The Brewery Warehouse (Thunderchicken)
The Optometrist (Captain Blood)
The Builder's (Matakishi)
The Sheriff (TBC ;))
So, eight 'named' buildings finished (apart from the signs on the Sheriff's place) with five more to go.
There are also a few other builders that do not have names attached to them, although Gutbukkit has laid claim to the Khazi.... ;)
As for character figures, the following have been finished:
Hammers*
Malamute
Dr De'ath
Eric the Shed
Elk 101**
Tom the B*stard
Captain Blood
Hu Rhu**
Dewbakuk**
* Not sure if he is actually coming but the figures has already been done anyway.
**These have not been named on the thread as characters yet, but they will be added soon.
;)
I also already have figures of the following characters that need painting:
jimbibbly
smokezombie
Damas
Silent Invader
Overlord
Elysium 64
Doug Em4
Ray Earle
That leaves the following figures to be sourced:
Matakishi
Thunderchicken
Legionnaire Bert
AndyM
gamer Mac
Andrew May
Dr the Viking
Grimm
Vikotnik
Green Knight
Nurgle HH
10 days....Just sayin'... ;)
You are almost there.
If you just stopped loitering about on internetforums with questionable people obsessed with counting days.
You will definately make it.
Good work, Mason! 8)
Have to say, I really enjoyed the tester game we had last week, all good, clean, psychotic fun out amongst the cactii.
Bring on BLAM!
AND THE TRAIN! ;D
*skeddadles away from any thrown items.
Wow... is it only ten days?
That's not a lot! lol
Shut it, Bertie!
>:D
(I had genuinely forgotten to type that. Git!)
Polyphasic sleep is the key. A 20 minute nab every 4 hours. To Cosmo Kramer!
All the cool kids are doing it. From Da Vinci, Napoleon, Tesla to Einstein.
Could this years expression be ....I am the sheriff !
Paul you better buy one of those plastic badges for James to wear :D
Do you have any relatives in Vietnam? It might explain many things. ;)
The longest recorded period without sleep is an astounding 33 years, performed by 64 year old Vietnamese man named Thai Ngoc, who claims to have lost his need for sleep after a sickness in the 70′s. Surprisingly, he experiences no ill negative effects from this condition, not even the normal sleep deprivation effects such as fatigue, loss of concentration, and so on.
Hahaha lol lol lol. Glad to be indispensible with the project then sir. :D I shall have to come up with the next big thing once you knock them out of the way.
Have you noticed a complete lack of wagons and passenger cars in my OW thread??? ;) building em is harder than I thought.
Congrats Mason, 100 pages of OW gold. Keep em coming, it's been a huge inspiration to my own project.
Cheers
Matt

Can you get plastic bath house attendant badges?

What? Einstein is reported to have enjoyed a solid 10 hours of sleep every night and naps in between. o_o
100 pages of western joy! woo hoo 😃
Don' forget the Iron Lady
Who is the Sheriff? I have found this helpful leaflet on the Interweb.
A visitor from Imperial Japan, maybe the original Japanese tourist.
:D :D
Hu-Rhu is probably not his real name, but it is what he is known as around Town as he is always walking up to people whilst uttering what sounds like' Hu-Rhu??'....
He is a particularly neat and dapper chap, unlike some in town and rumours abound that he is going to attempt to introduce the idea of laundering your clothing to those in need of instruction.
;)
Deepry honouled to be incruded in most honoulable Cleek. Prease to show way to raundly. lol lol
Great paint job by the way
Does his hat say "I♥UC"?
Or would it be barbaric?
No camera? He's not a real Japanese tourist! :D
But he could wear a face mask.....as half the population of Tokyo seem to do.
:D :D
Next up......Ray Earle.
:D
Very good. lol
He looks like trouble. Will probably get shot by the natives his first week in country. ;)
The tracks are exactly what I want to do with mine. Is that a length of ply or mdf you've used? I'd previously used lengths of a heavy grade plasticard on my terrain only to find it warped terribly. I like it and the new additions to the Creek! I'm not sure I trust that Hu Rhu fellow though:D
The station and tracks look bloody brilliant, mate!
keeps getting better and better
Cracking pace Mason! I like the friendly chap who asks 'who-r-u?' :D
Cracking! I'm honoured to put in an appearance at Upsheet Creek.
Eli Simon is a nice touch, I was wondering how you would deal with Elysium!
Love them, I to am honored to be on the rosta. Not so sure about the "rich" part of the descriptor, I think he is more of a Walter Mitty character who is fooling himself that he has enough income for all his projects, ah, now that sounds more familiar lol
Eli Simon's House ought to be built with grand aspirations, but none of it is quite finished ;D
Your ability to make puns over usernames is just as impressive as the actual build of the creek. I am looking forward to see how you will handle the crazy Viking.
It is a shame that time is running out as I would have liked to have gotten the other version finished.
I think you have a good idea of what Elk looks like in his 'casual' gear already.
101 to come.
;)
Yes, I have a very good idea of casual Elk! Looking forward to seeing 101, don't worry if the painting is a little ruff. ;)
I'm getting very excited about all this now, I just need to finish my own contribution.
Cool stuff. I'm working on some Western Aeons. I have two questions though Mason,
How did you make the tracks?
Where is the Bag Man from?
The Bagman is Dr Watson from Ironclad Miniatures
http://ironcladminiatures.com/en/24-victorian-sci-fi-characters
Only a week to go... I'm officially excited :-* o_o
Shall I bring my LPL posse, or would you rather people didn't besmirch your work of art with their own shabby figurines? :D
(I shall bring them anyway, and they can pose around on the edge of the table for Hello Magazine ;))
Well I'm bringing my shabby figures! They are also a League for my Pulp Alley game though.
I shall try and get pictures of Silent Invader and Damas sorted this evening.....
lol
Very apt (And not a balaclava to be seen!)
That's just brilliant! I could see him as a nice rug in my trapper's cabin.
I'm wondering if Damas might also be fauna based?
lol
Very apt (And not a balaclava to be seen!)
Or sharp implements. ;)
Excellent, not at all what I was expecting. lol
We'll need to have a picnic basket objective.
Really...?
Read again... ;)
lol
Bear La Clava... lol lol lol
I am far too busy sculpting/converting Scotsmen at the moment.... ;)
That's not something you hear everyday. lol
Now he has me worried :o
Very nice, I have been looking for a bear recently and I believe that is the one that is near the top of my list. Is it the LOTR Beorn? How does it look up close? I can't tell from pics if the face is bear enough... I'm guessing if you're happy I'd be happy.
Love it Paul!
lol
I like the big rocks in the pan too! You think of everything don't you.
I am however starting to get a bit nervous as to my own appearance in the Creek.
Nice ass Mason.
I had a feeling that was coming lol
Paul...is there a mini for Eric the Shed?
It seems such a long time ago you put together the wonderful building but I don't think I ever saw Eric... :'(
Really glad that you like him, especially.
I wouldn't want to offend.
:D
There SHOULD be a mini representing all of the LAFfers attending BLAM.
(If I manage to finish the last seven this week, that is..... ::))
Here is Eric the Shed displaying his wares....
The characters are actually going to play a very important and focal part of the game so those that are paying attention may well have a slight advantage.
;)
Crystal ball again, or am I becoming too obvious?
:D
Any guesses as to what will happen with those remaining...?
:D
D
It is indeed the old Beorn model, and very nice it is.
You should not be disappointed, mate.
:)
For a moment I thought it was going to be just the damn Ass, so I'm glad there's a human along side him! :D
Cool... :D :D :D :D
Not obvious, it's just what's would have done! lol
Maybe his first name is Alexandre and he writes a little too.
Thanks
Who is left?
All jokes aside - we know you can do it!
tip of the genius iceberg!! 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8)
More than the beautiful building, modelling and painting, it's the way you've incorporated the names of all the players that's the pure tip of the genius iceberg!! 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8)
So the last building is for Colin and Andy? For Gamer Mac the only thing I can think of is a gambling house. Andy is a harder one to guess at but if they're both part of the same building maybe he's the house poker or faro player
Dr Zombie and Smoke Zombie could be linked as it's going to be hard to come up for something for zombie, unless they're wandering Caribbean émigrés?
NurgleHH? Nurgle is also called The Great Unwashed One, so that could be interesting! lol
Marvellous, fiendishly clever scenario plotting, but then I didn't expect anything less. ;)
Call that fiendish?I'm not sure if I should feel slighted or relieved not to see your artistic interpretation of 'toobocoo' lol! Just loving your project Paul! My Black Scorpion minis are staring at me from the mantle wondering when they get finished!! Looking forward to seeing this 'play out'!
I forgot to mention that the players will be moving the Civilians as well, so all sorts of chances for bluff and counter bluff, or just plain nastiness if you know who someone else is 'after'... ;)
Oh, and no tape measures or measuring sticks will be used....but dice without any numbers on will.
:D
And a few random events should add to the chaos.....but they shall remain secret until they happen......
So the last building is for Colin and Andy? For Gamer Mac the only thing I can think of is a gambling house. Andy is a harder one to guess at but if they're both part of the same building maybe he's the house poker or faro player
Surely he's not building a Zeppelin hanger?...........is he? :o
I'm not sure if I should feel slighted or relieved not to see your artistic interpretation of 'toobocoo' lol! Just loving your project Paul! My Black Scorpion minis are staring at me from the mantle wondering when they get finished!! Looking forward to seeing this 'play out'!
Surely he's not building a Zeppelin hanger?...........is he? :o
Maybe a take on the Wright Brothers or a balloon observation service redundant after the Civil War?
I am not THAT mad, am I..?
::)
Hmmm, well....... Ehm........
Ok....you fellas have caught me out.
Please bear in mind that this is only a WIP piccie, though....
:D
It is still better than my terrain builds...
Please take plenty of photos! :D
A coat of paint and some Silfour tufts and that'll look the dogs bullocks mate! I don't know about the 'mad Scots' part though!! >:(
This is the 'real' building....
....although it looks a little different now.
;)
My guess is a 'house'... :D
I do think there may be an appearance from a hobo coming up though?
The dirigible shed isn't quite up to your usual standards I'm afraid. It's a little too Le Corbusier for me.
No idea for the Glasgow boy's build, you've stumped me on that one.
I'm assuming that you've increased the base size... there is no was you could fit a zepplin landing pole on that small base.
Either that or it is the UpSheet Creek Air Clubs 'Office'. Andy you better bring an aeroplane/gyrocopter to the game after all. ;)
I don't know about the 'mad Scots' part though!! >:(
My hobo guess was based on the NurgleHH - Great Unwashed One premise and is entirely likely to be complete bollocks!
I would imagine you're a little bit incensed now though lol
I await with baited breath.
Genius! 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8)
A&C Mac Engineering. Brill. Feck knows how you ever came up with that!!
You knows I is only teasing about the 'Scot' thing! ;)
Paul, how do you do the signage?
...dont be daft, Bibbles.
Andy knows that I am only pulling his leg.
Right.....?
Shamazing ;D
If Andy shows up tomorrow with a face full of blue wode you're on your own Mason! o_o
Incidentally, I am quite happy to be referred to as a 'sassenach' if it will ease cross-border relations somewhat - we are not all the ignorant southern swine Mason is...
Splendid love th ACME joke
I am not bothered about the Scot thing, i was a soldier many moons ago, normal form of address. It's the mad i object too we are perfectly sane so the knome on my shoulder tells me.
Great stuff and the effort on the figures is applaudable.
I shall post the Creek later, as it is almost dry (I hope...!).
Well well well, the creek certainly has a sheet colour to it, so it seems aptly named ;) lol lol
Loving the shrubberies and rockeries Pablo.
Will you be constructing a water race for gold panning too?
The creek looks great, looking forward to more of it... ;)
Paul, Hats off to you with this list to complete in 24 hrs
........
That would take me at least a week of full time work. However given your work rate, I have faith that you will make it on time...just!!
Keep going, mate, you're almost there! The rush will soon be over and all the positive and gushing comments you'll get about the Creek will take the edge off the nervous tics you must of picked up trying to get this done lol
I just have to say Mason that this whole project is totally inspirational. :)
Not only does everything look amazing and is so well thought out, but the ridiculous deadline you have set yourself to complete an ENTIRE high caliber game is just jaw dropping.
I have been prepping for a small game myself and have had to paint a handful of miniatures and 2 simple terrain pieces, and I've been sweating on finishing that simple task. Imagine your stress levels!! :o
I really hope all your efforts are appreciated mate and can't wait to see the AARs from your amazing game.
Hats off to you Sir - what an effort!!
How does Mason do it?
"Sleep, rest - a Jedi craves not these things!"
Mason's perhaps more like the Terminator - a cyborg painter sent from the future to build the entire world - and he absolutely will not stop until it's finished!
I just noticed. There is no Mason in Upsheet Creek!
Someone quickly cobble together a shop for the stonemason (see what I did there) and bring it to the thing.
Hahahaha!
Brilliant! ;D lol lol
Outstanding Paul - cannot wait to see all this come together.
This is what BLAM is all about...Thank you
Now I need a catch phrase. ..
Brilliant!
"CRAZY NORSE STUFF"
It is an old danish attempt from the seventies to make a western. I don't know if it makes much sense if you do not speak danish, but the acting and special effects speak volumes I think...
lol
I would never have guessed those ones, great stuff.
Ok, some of you will be aware of the German 'Cunning Plan' to ensure that they get a sunlounger whilst on holiday.
Not many know that it originated in Upsheet Creek, though.
;)
Here is the evidence.....a table set up and 'Reserved' for the Teutonic visitors in Town.
Pre-sunlounger period, but this is where it all began, folks.
You take my word for it.
:D
Rumour has it that the Germans are otherwise occupied, but they usually manage to turn and take their seats at just the right time......
lol
Those boys have a good sense of humour, I'm sure they'll see the funny side. Probably.
The amount of dedication & single minded effort you've put into this WONDERFUL creation...game is too mundane a term for anything of this level of magnificence...is TRULY IMPRESSIVE!
Is that Colin on the left?
Wow you made it. :o I had faith ::) Look forward to actually playing on it. :)
Congratulations,Paul! I'm sure the game will be a blast and can't wait to see some piccies of games in progress. Well done, mate
I am an equal opportunities git.
lol love Em! lol
lol lol lol lol lol lol
Brilliant Mate, what a stellar output at this late stage. Breathtaking.
You said it ;D
Well done.
Matt
Well done. So - what's on for next year? :D
Well done Mason
Wish I was going....
Brilliant! :-* :-* :-*
You've obviously done proper research into the Mac Bros tartan.
BTW That's not proper form! Finishing a BLAM project a DAY before the event!!
This has been some non-stop fun! Can't wait to see some shots from the day.
Great sprint to the finish there Paul!......and yes we did finally get to see the train lol lol and it was worth the wait.
Lon
(http://i1033.photobucket.com/albums/a416/blindbeggarminiatures/traindone005_zps022fad62.jpg)
Shamazeballs. ;D
I can see my house from there! :D
Don't pack this away without me playing.
Awesome sauce :-* Where is the train from?
Well, it seems you have captured your unicorn Paul! Perhaps you should call her Eleanor (gone in 60 sec reference)
Very well done!! Now will bibbles finish his mountain church... ;)
Great looking set up.
Have fun this weekend.
after the frantic dash to finish...Mason at BLAM? lol lol

You gets to get killed on it today.
:D
And I hope from now on my back door gets a rest from all that fisting. ;) :o lol
I did! I did! lol
One of the best games I've played for a long time. A truly original idea to introduce all the BLAM attendeees, complimented by superb terrain and a very original set of game mechanics.
Effing brilliant!
And I hope from now on my back door gets a rest from all that fisting. ;) :o lol
Paul mentioned next years game was going to be Hannah Montana!
...and one of the most fun games I ever played. Period. ;D
Can I steal them, Richard? :D).
Be my guest :)
....What next, few weeks of vacation to recover your nerves and hobby mojo?
Although I think we should all be worried! Paul mentioned next years game was going to be Hannah Montana! !! :o
I am going to try and a little get together soon so we can play again, and I may even cook dinner for you as well, you lucky bastards.
Mason, you are a dirty little man who wants to catch innocent man (like jim bibbly) for games with fisting in his chamber. ;):o :o :o
I'm a bit disappointed that you didn't do more for BLAM than just some house and minis. Here's for hoping that you will do more next year!:D :D
I love Hannah Montana :-*
Mason, you are a dirty little man who wants to catch innocent man (like jim bibbly) for games with fisting in his chamber. ;)
But seriously: These were one of the games made for convention. Six player (or more?), fast mechanism, great table. You should write down the rules and publish it.
:o :o :o
I love German humour! lol lol
Paul, mate, it looks amazing! And I'm so glad that it went as good as it went! Although, I'm a bit disappointed that you didn't do more for BLAM than just some house and minis. Here's for hoping that you will do more next year!
:D :D
Oh to be in England...well last weekend at any rate.
The game was hugely fun and it certainly wasn't clear who was winning as things changed dramatically during each turn (which is much more fun). Tom the B@stard certainly lived up to his name! lol
:o :o :oYou should ask Jim Bibble if he also think it is humor. For him it means a dirty job, but some got to do it. Poor james! lol lol lol lol
I love German humour! lol lol
I am not sure that you will approve of what is going to happen, then.... ::)
Yes indeed. A truly wonderful, inventive, clever, beautiful and fun filled game.
Having run it through no less than five times on Saturday, it's no wonder that Mason got completely wankered on Saturday evening... ;) :D
Don't let the missus read this post, Mason - proof in print! :D
His name's Dave now you know? ;)
You should ask Jim Bibble if he also think it is humor. For him it means a dirty job, but some got to do it. Poor james! lol lol lol lol
Considering your state Saturday evening, I'm surprised you're already up and answering forum posts! ;) lol
Work of art my son :-*
Not to sure about Hannah Montana though Paul, and the less said about fisting Nick the better. :o
That's a mental image I could well do without lol
All of this is just brillant.
What an acheivement. I wish I can have such talent and dedication to build a project that big and well done on such a limited time.
Damn, now I'm a real sucker to do western table :'( I don't have the time!
More pictures of this wonderful game are now up on my blog...scroll down about half way
http://shedwars.blogspot.co.uk/2014/10/blam-2014-photo-album-100-pictures.html (http://shedwars.blogspot.co.uk/2014/10/blam-2014-photo-album-100-pictures.html)

:o Wow Paul, to see the game in all its glory is truly inspiring, well done to you go and have a well deserved lie down lol.
Jeff
Don't let the missus read this post, Mason - proof in print! :D
His name's Dave now you know? ;)
Yeah, he was quite clear about that.
Dave
I may make a start on something next week some time.
May.....
;)

Hell on Wheels...
You should be mate, it looks fab :)
the train came out fantastic! and I know what I am talking about...
Looked great. My only complaint would be that it needs to be longer to help Indians who are daft enough to run along the top as it is nearing the edge of town
With Bryan's Mum having a nose around as usual...
Very cool, I've looked several times at acquiring more rocks like those - you may have convinced me to do so! lol
That is a little fishy
;)
lol
But seriously, nice strata colouring. :D
In fact it was so easy that I had a crack at another couple of a different design as well.
I am waiting for the glue to dry on them and will take some piccies in the morning before going to work.
The other one....
...will have to wait as the 'Computer says 'No!'.
Grrrr!!!
oh, here we are at the fish topic again! lol
very well pimped, Your scenery - they literally "rock" ;)
I'll get my coat....
what else?
they turned out very well, especially the sediment colouring. Well done!
They're very effective. Where did you find the layered ones?
So, here we are, another plastic aquarium rock tarted up...
That works very well. Where are they from?
They are all from ebay, Paul.
I shall send you the links later.
;)
I shall send the details to you too, Phil.
Be warned, they arrive in a hideous orange/brown colour and need a good solid undercoating first.
;)
Rocks look great! What are they made out of? Would you mind now that you're post-BLAM to do a pic of your full set? I'd really love to see a few different angles and all the various details. The game shots were great but of course were not taken to show off your work to their best as people were busy rolling dice :D Yours and Za Zurman's are my favorite OW projects, just a joy to follow.
I'm not sure exacly where your town is set, but I lived in Arizona for about 3 years and at least in a good portion of that area of the south west the rocks have a very interesting oxideish look to them. Not a heavy rust red, until you go north, but sort of a dusting. Just thought I'd mention it for that 'over the top' look which you could probably do with a light dusting of a pigment.
I was wondering when you were going to bring up that creek lol lol I think the creek has become what the train was - that mirage in the distance :D
Their lovely Paul, he's one of my favourite painters is Mr Bugsda.
the Apache, they rock too!
I can't help myself but to notice that the colour palette reminds me a lot of the 54mm "indians" of my childhood, that noone seems to make anymore.
cracking additions to the collection!
They look good. I love that big one in the first photo.
That last one was gneiss whereas this one is schist
(http://flexiblelearning.auckland.ac.nz/rocks_minerals/rocks/images/schist10.jpg)
And my geomorphology ends here, because I would not know how to bring these two formations together ???
Was the very big one the one you had to fill? If not (because I can't be bothered with all that) where did you find it?
Everything is nice btw (goes without saying, not going to repeat myself).
and maybe a few more pictures of the real nature ;)
You will notice that nothing is equally distributed all over the place
I am slightly unsettled about all the various styles of rock, I'd reduce the styles to round or layered cow pat if I had the choice. If you go eBay shopping be sure to get some you already have. Don't buy any new ones :)
I would rather do some low rocky elevations for height variation, platform style - I think You have enough rocks
Maybe like the Bed said, some lower stuff could suggest an ancient flood-plain or centuries of erosion and help to situate Upsheet Creek in a more natural manner.
well, the Bed's going to bed now, for he has a CRISIS tomorrow - good night
now, where did I leave my coat again?.....
I think that all looks crackin!! Those aquarium pieces really work! :-* :-* :-*
Nice work on those citizens Jeff,my favorites are the housewife and lady with the kids.
Nice work on those citizens Jeff,my favorites are the housewife and lady with the kids.
Same here. Where are they from ?
Very nice Jeff!
ZZ Top sure is a character lol lol lol
Cheers
Matt.
Upsheet Creek will soon be overpopulated! There won't be rooms for the b- ... ooops :D You know who...
Hey Pablo, did you gather those rules you used at Blam somewhere, or did I miss them? Hard to say with all the comings and goings on this forum.
You are on that 'list'.
Oh smashing news. I thought I may have missed it somewhere.
I have been searching the Web here in the States to find these most excellent aquarium rock formations that populate your Old West scenery and have not yet found them. Are these available only on your side of the Atlantic? I would be interested in knowing where to get them.
Forgive me if the answer to my question lies somewhere in the 1770+ posts--obviously if it is, I have missed it! :D
The red suits them great, I'm glad I chose it for my bandito gang as well :)
oh, very nice, very unusual
like them, and they again remind me of 54 mm toys
CONGRATULATIONS on some WONDERFUL additions to town, Paul...you Gringo you!
Ok, forget lighting and background, I've taken the skin tone up a level. I hope you can see from this picture. The building is from Snapdragon which I believe are sadly no longer available.
Adios Hombres!
Very nice, lovely to see it get a lot of use.
It is a grand set up mate 8) 8)
PS were you using your own rules a la Blam or something else...
Wondeful looking set up once again Paul :-*
How did the scenarios go?
Great set-up Paul!
would You give it a try askew next time? I think it can only profit
:-*
Well that works for me mate! It's a gem sir! Ooh and that train :-*
Cheers
Bertie.
This time (and any other time that I use the tracks until I make more) I could not as the track only looks right going straight across the table.
Thank you, Bertie.
You are making up for past transgressions with those kind of 'train' comments.
:D
Beautiful table! What a spread!!! :-*
Brilliant stuff, mate! Sounds like a great couple of games and the table looks stunning as always!
why?
but OK, I understand, You write that the track indicates the part of the town south of it, etc
but the straight grid would work askew too
maybe You need two more special figures lurking outside the local hardware store and smoking indian weed, one of them all too silent ;)
I'm going to have to debate your definition of transgression. ;D Being a nupty doesnt break any bourdaries :D :D lol
ps. Nice train! Who painted it? ;)
Great games mate! I'm sure they were a lot of fun!! A scenic treat for the eyes too!!
I like the folded laundry Jeff, that's a cracking figure 8)
Any custom work or are the figures "out the box"?
Loving the livery on those tong, the shirts are great, obviously you have experience with ironing Jeff lol.
Absolutely chuffed with them, mate.
The first of the Chinatown elements of the Creek.
There shall be a few more to come.
Cheers, mate.
Love 'em
Glad your happy with them Paul
Cool 8)
Jeff, just make sure the open quote starts where you want it, and the trick is to make sure the close quote is correct. Forget a bracket "]" and your response will also be in the quote.
Cheers
Matt
Lovely, who makes the Tong in the Top hat?
Not Mr-Wu. Great figure.
COCK-SUCKER!!!
I've been tempted by those Brigade laundrymen myself, though I must admit that the top hatted fellow from Old Glory may be my favourite.
The Brigade Games figures are very nice, I simply had to buy them when I saw them.
Top Hat does seem popular, but Fu-Manchu is my personal favourite.
I should get my hands on Jeff's latest efforts very soon and cannot wait to get them based and put in the Old West cabinet.
Almost there with the OW collection.
It will soon be time to move on to my next project whilst playing loads of OW games.
:D
Yes agreed on Brudage and The Top Hat, but at 25 bucks the set it's a lot to get 1 mini....
Just getting around to catching up on the thread and read your report on last week's games, Mason. Two broken hands and lost an eye? Ouch! :o Dunno why, but that mental image made me laugh! That is until I play on Thursday and possibly suffer a similar fate!
On reflection, think I am gonna stick with my original bunch of outlaws as they've only played a couple of games - Rumpo's Riders shall ride again!
Oh to finish a project! So what is the next project?
I somehow remember a shipping of Pulp jetpacks already years ago.
are You cleaning fish breeding tanks with them?
or duck ponds :D lol
Thought you were interested in VBCW Paul??
lol
They were supposed to be used on my US Marines for VSF, but as that force has fallen by the wayside they will be used elsewhere.
Eventually.... ;)
Not enough chinese ghosts. So I disapprove of this!
Or more precisely, first thought it said 'necromancer', but apparently it said 'newcomers'. Very disappointed :'(
hopefully not by the time I have my Zeppelin troopers and Airship ready... ;)
send home what?
The population of Upsheet Creek is expanding rapidly. Will the new residents need new accommodation ;D ?
I think it is time that I took a break from building and painting stuff for a while.
The mojo needs some time out.
That wilderness terrain with railroad track begs for a train robbery scenario! :)
That aside the terrain looks TERRIFIC & VERY Southwestern. GREAT STUFF!
Lovely setup :-* :-* :-*
That wilderness terrain with railroad track begs for a train robbery scenario! :)
It brought to mind the rescue of The Fair Damsel tied to the railroad tracks by the Constantly Sneering Villain a la The Perils of Pauline.
I hope it only means OW mojo and that you are planning furiously on continuing or starting another project :D
Cracking set up Gromit! It's reminiscent of Red Dead Redemption.
Look fab mate! :-*
Still no chinese necromancers :'(
I will sort through the pictures of the recent games later and post any that survived my attempt at pointing the picture-box.
:D
Sort it out Marty :D
I shall sort out the pictures later.
Git!
Tactics? Who needs them. It's a better tactic to rig the dice ;) lol
Wibble....
More wibble....
Solid looking lead slugging match! :D
Do you play the game at all or just GM over the happenings, Don Pablo "Marty" Campo :)
Silly boys...... ::)
But you love us Marty, especially the fact that we don't post stupid pictures or videos ::)
cheers
James
But you love us Marty, especially the fact that we don't post stupid pictures or videos ::)
Congrats to the Painter, he gave my boys one hell of a whuppin'!
Unlike this?
Stop it, Bertie, you silly boy.
>:D
:D you love it. I know you do ;)
Any old man and his dog can take this hobby seriously... But having good old fun while playing with your toys - that's the place to be. And LAF has just enough of that banter to make it worthwhile.
What are you working on at the moment Paul? it is good to see some lovely games as well old chap.
Plenty of irons in the fire at the moment
I am not some kind of Grinch.
So while Bibbles is cutting tiny foam squares and placing them with toothpicks
A railway/trestle bridge would be a great addition 8)
What are you working on at the moment Paul? it is good to see some lovely games as well old chap.
Hobby wise?
The only thing that I can show what I am doing at the moment is pushing some green stuff about.
Pictures of that work will appear tomorrow, most likely.
:D
Are you making an Eiffel Radio Tower? Or an UpSheet Creek Railroad bridge?
That, I want to see.
A railway/trestle bridge would be a great addition 8)
It must be what he's up to. He was awefully chuffed getting that train done, I can only imagine a wrought iron bridge is the next step.
When do we get to see it Paul? >:D
That wont be for some months, though, too busy with other stuff at the moment.
;)
Ooh,very nice, what ranges are these civilians from ?
I recognised those cracking Obelisk figures, I wish someone would release those again. I wonder what happened to them in the end?
I'm looking forward to seeing the wagons, and yes no point in having them gathering dust it's them so hard to paint.
Does one of the wagons belong to a snake oil salesman? I can see the middle one in that picture looking great with some advertising on the side
Looks like a command module. Perhaps the railroad survey team/bridge constructors? :D
so you keep pushing Paul towards the edge...
Looks like a command module. Perhaps the railroad survey team/bridge constructors? :D
Haha, so you keep pushing Paul towards the edge... edge of his railroad tracks that is, ending on the wrong side of the Creek since he has no railroad bridge! lol
I think you need a third so you can start the Great Snake Oil Wars as the "merchants" hire gangs of thugs to try and put the others out of business ;)
Aha!
Someone else has rumbled Bertie the Bastard.
:D
I have made a start on a couple of the wagons.
I should get one finished at some point tomorrow.....
Those seated figures look lovely, mate :-*
Great job on the wagons too
Great looking additions mate 8)
Excellent additions.
The covered wagon looks ace. :)
Eh, Pablo! The drivers look just the part. 8) 8) your sculpts look great perched up top. Your baggy clothing works well for OW genre mate.
Excellent stuff, Paul, I admire your tenacity in making projects :)
Your paint job on the stagecoach is great but I don't like those pencil sharpeners, they just look wrong to me. ::)
I finished basing (and 'crewing') another of the wagons earlier.
I shall see if I can sort out a quick piccie or two before I go to work tomorrow.
Its quite a wagon train you have now. ;D
.....are we going to get a group shot of them in laarger with a hoard of screaming indians surrounding them?
(P.S. I must confess that my first thought was: 'Why does Bibbles want them in lager? Weirdo!').
Spelling Marty, spelling ;D
Spelling indeed, Hagrid....
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laager
;D ;D ;D
Joking aside, I think it would be good to take a few pictures of the 'wagon train' when they are all finished.
:)
Do it Marty, Do it! :D
Great to see those figures in situ Paul, they finish off the excellent work you've done on the wagons nicley and I can't wait to see the whole train all together in one photo.
The wagons look SPLENDID, but for a real Wagon Train you will need a mini that resembles Ward Bond
...for the Wagon Train Purists.
What do you mean nearly there??? There is only 128 pages so far....... lol lol
Like the "gravedigger "mini best but all look great.
:-* I like the look of Robinson Crusoe + dog.
Lovely work Jeff especially Robinson Crusoe. :-*
Fantastic, I love it! A cracking figure with a lovely paintjob. I see I have my portable skin stretcher with me!
:-* :-* purty. Very purty Jeff and Pablo.
I did a few more this evening.
I shall post a piccie in the morning.
Where are they from Marty?
Dunno if you can call UC a town anymore though, it seems to get quite crowded lately :)
I finished basing the latest Tong that Jeff painted for me...
And here they are with the earlier batch (and their mysterious leader ;))....
Plenty of uses for this lot.
As well as Citizens of Upsheet Creek, they will form their own 'Gang' in our Old West games and can also be used for Pulp, VSF and Strange Aeons.
Very versatile.
:D
You may have out "Tonged" yourself! Great work!
Wow, what an amazing project. Brilliant stuff. Now where did you get those pencil sharpeners?
Gotta admire the scale of the Project, very intimidating :)
Still no Ghost.
Paul, these Tongs are an impressive bunch, I like the green color you've used for them!
Great work. What will you use that many for though?!
Those are lovely! What's the source for your Tong figures?
The Tongs are FANTASTIC...GREAT brushwork & color selection! VERY WELL DONE, Weed Hopper!
The Thong Song
I notice that you've got a video of Upsheet Creek in WI's ipad edition this month... it all looks fantastic put together. The Tong are also looking brilliant
Thong, th-thong thong thong ;D
Really?
I was completely unaware of that.
I will have to try and get a butchers at it somehow....
Really?
I was completely unaware of that.
I will have to try and get a butchers at it somehow....
You, sir, are a stupid boy.
Not to mention an arsehat.
;D ;D
Thong, th-thong thong thong ;DLeet mee see thaaat thooong, baaaby, the thong thong thong thong song.
cheers
James
Yep. There are some photos in their coverage of BLAM, but in the ipad version there are also some videos panning across some of the tables. The first one is Upsheet Creek :)
They've also got a picture from one of my blog articles from ages ago up there without letting me know :-[
Leet mee see thaaat thooong, baaaby, the thong thong thong thong song.
I finished another one of the wagons today.
I shall try and get some piccies taken over the weekend.
Very good :)
Cheers, mate.
:D
We have a game planned for tonight where Rumpo's Riders are going to try and ron the Upsheet Creek Express.
Of course, being Rumpo, things may not go according to plan.... ;)
Piccies later when I have set up.
:D
Ron the Upsheet Creek Express?
Thats a new one on me... ;) lol
Given the names you're giving to all of this is it safe to assume that one of those hills is called Benny? ;D
lol lol lol
I like that!
I think there will certainly be an area in the vicinity known as the Benny Hills.
Thank you.
:D
Is Rumpo Kid based on the Sid James character perchance ;)!!! (I AM of foreign persuasion but have learned a thing or two here in Blighty, evenchually :D).
You're welcome, in my Jihadistan games I have a Benny, Harry, Graham and Jimmy Hill - not least because it sounds like the names Brit troops would use but it also makes places really easy for players to remember.
Rumpo will never have a dime novel dedicated to his exploits at this rate....& Rumpo Rides Again has such a nice ring to it. GREAT report & BEAUTIFUL terrain & minis!
Are the Dooschbaggs related to the Wright-Burke's lol lol?
What a successful train robbery lol lol
With successes like that, I'd suggest Rumpo 'recruits' a talented spin doctor/publicist. He may need it. I'd suggest he was protect'n the train from wild savages. ;) ;), a noble deed worthy of lofty tales, and a pretty price from the right railway company :D not that I would condone a 'protection racket'. ;D
Lovely, but I feel a little ripped off the title does say train.... just saying....
Rumpo did not get to see the train so I don't see why you should.
;D
I too feel bit cheated by the fact of not having the chance to witness the train!! :'(
But only if you are good boys!
:D
But only if you are good boys!
:D
Sure thing boss, full steam ahead for you and we will behave and will not derail this thread so it won't go off the rails this time.
What is the chance of that? lol lol lol
Great setup and battle report by the way. Are you still using fingers, fists and no dice symbols or have your rules moved on?
I have finished the next wagon, I just need to make some modifications to seat the 'crew' as the seat is pretty small on it.
So your table is wider... Will you extend your boards? Make em bigger? :D
Great stuff Marty, your sculpts bring them to life. :)
Superb Wagon homeboy 8)
You could add one bag 'falling' off the back ;) .....
You've certainly had good use out of that bowler-hatted bonce :)
You could add some arrows sticking out of the side :D
Finished wagon is indeed a nice vignette on its own 8)
The genttleman is encouraging the horses and his lady seems to be fearing for her life :)
Looks good to me mate 8) 8) 8)
You could add some arrows sticking out of the side :D
Why? You dont have James's luck with new Nefs do you? ;D
I have finished basing some more inhabitants of the Creek.
Piccies later when the glue dries.....
Nice additions. I think I recognise the guy on the bottom left! :D
Lovely little set of characters, my favourite is the chap in the pillbox hat.
Nice additions, I like the professor most. :-*
Just a ball park figure but what is the population of the town now?
glad to see them going into action!
Superb Thread
I'm very jealous of your ability to stick to just one project!
Actually when I saw those dusters and hats I immediately thought of the Marshall and his Posse from Pale Rider who were definitely the bad guys! Nice work though
Nice work on those Jeff, love the duster coats.
Thanks lads the two colours used for the coats were GW Balor brown and Iyanden Darksun (which I don't think exists anymore). I added white to each colour for three or four highlights to give the colours some depth. Nice figures, Paul will know the manufacturer I'm sure.
Oooh lovely! Great additions they are.
I hope to add another band to the Creek tomorrow.
Fingers crossed.
;)
For the record, there is no such thing as an ex-confederate. ;)
How many more teams you got planned mate? Is she near completion?
No Big Mac...?
;)
I really like those figures. The dog is nice, where's it from? Is it the Gringo one?
You could add one bag 'falling' off the back ;) .....
Nice idea with the luggage tipping of the bag. :)
ooh shiney! *waddles off in another direction*
lol
I know that feelin' mate, i expect to see something completely different in a few weeks hahaha.
Not looked in in a while. I love the bolting wagon, so much so I just ordered myself some that luggage!
Nice little touch that mate, goes well with the horses 8)
Excellent new Upsheet Creek episodes, beats Coronation Enders hands down :-*
Excellent wagon work again 8)
Looking for ideas here as I start building my own Adobe church. I've only ever built one Adobe structure so it will be fun. What will you be doing with it?
So who will be the Padre?
Nobody pimps as well as you Paolo ;)
Does it have interior?
And was it made by Belgian?
Most of the painting has already been done this afternoon, so I MAY get a picture of the basics up soon.
;)
Well done!
*and as a new poster, your index on page 1 is a Godsend!!! Though I still went through all 138 pages anyway :)*
Looks great Don Pablo! :D
Will there be a cemetery later on? (just adding things for you to make for the UC ;) )
It needs a bell and some pews for ecclesial gatherings / shootout barricades :)
Thanks for the vote of confidence, chaps.
:D
That is yet to be decided.... ::)
If anyone has any APPROPRIATE ideas, I am willing to listen to them.
:D
lol
Not quite sure how to take that, Riccardo.
;)
Interior?
No.
I dont intend any of the buildings in the Creek to have interiors.
It was indeed.
A fine, well made, little piece.
The basic paintjob completed...
Progress will continue in a few days....
It needs a bell and some pews for ecclesial gatherings / shootout barricades :)
The church looks superb. :-* :-* Your 'light pimping' is masterful. I don't know how you do it.
I like what you have done with the Spanish style church, the drybrushing has certainly worked.
You mean pews pews?
That did paint up BEAUTIFULLY...a nice Southwestern vibe. GREAT WORK!
Just awesome! :-*
It is just begging to be attacked by Indians ;)
Excellent wagon train, the Apaches are gonna' love roasting those Pinda likoyee over a slow fire ;)
Not if the Comanche see them first. :D
Remember who are the lords of the southern plains ;)
lol
Man that is a nice wagon train!
I'm in the process of building one too. Very very nice!
Oh Pablo. You've outdone yourself again.
Beautiful wagons, self sculpted drivers, glorious pictures and a nice little story to boot. :-* :-* :-* :-* :-*
That is simply brilliance all around! I hate to be like that annoying kid in school who keeps raising his hand and asking questions all the time, but... I notice 4ground wagons in the train, how did you make the covered part?! Those look amazing! Would love to know what you did there.
*painting and weathering is amazing as well!*
WESTWARD HO, Pilgrim! The wagon train looks WONDERFUL...I used up my Ward Bond line awhile ago. GREAT WORK!
Glad to see you make all the women walk lol
Hopefully something will be along so you can Circle the Wagons!
A fine collection of wagons
It's been a while since my last comment on this thread. But I agree with what everyone else said. This is some stellar work.
That church is looking great, but the wagon train! :-* :-* :-*
Glad to see Elk getting an airing!
Church looks great. Loving the walls.
Amazing work, keep posting updates real inspiration
Amazing!
And thanks for the link to the wagon covers - though being in the States it looks like it may be a bit too much to get them over here.
It's disappointing for a Yank, you guys have the cool accents and all the cool miniature accessories!
Cheers, Amigo!
:)
lol lol
Naughty boy!
Thank you, sir.
There are more Apaches on their way, so that becomes a distinct possibility soon.
;)
Work on the Church has continued.
I have added a couple of walls and done most of the basework....
...just a little tidying up and the last few details left to do.
Wow, any pointers on the further painting steps you have done as it looks superb! The walls are a very nice addition!
Where's the bell? Is there a bell? There is a bell right?
There's no bell.
:(
Perhaps Nick will lend you his.
;)
Brilliant, the details on the base are excellent.
Yeah that looks top draw and I see the cross! No one will have any jewelry left at this rate! ;)
I hate all you adobe builders. You are stealing my focus!
That church is gorgeous...I just emailed someone looking for more Adobe structures myself. Awesome work there.
Lovely church, my gob is well and truly smacked :)
Keep up the good work.
Nice looking tree Paul. Reminds me of the one in sleepy hollow. Most cool 8)
Great work Paul, the church and wagon train are superb and I am looking forward to seeing it finished.
The Chapel turned out WONDERFULLY. AND I LOVE the Tree. GREAT STUFF!
Ohhh, nice church! :-* :-* :-* Up to your usual high standards mate!!
Now, all this stuff about the bells has to stop. We must let the bells end. Get it...bells end!.....Sorry, I'll go home!!
And here I was hoping for a hanging tree.
Five days away and what has been offered for our viewing pleasure!!! :o
That wagon train does deserve an outing on a gaming table, as much as possible, even though I'm rooting for the Native side to win at the end :D
Church is just fab! 8) Looks to miss that cemetery still, though ;)
That tree will be a nice addition, I have eyed similar ones at local pet stores and now you might have give me a reason to get one :) Are you using it for the M.O.O.S.E as well so basing it good for both settings?
And did I spot you mentioning a ranch? ;D
But: Yes! I will be making a small hacienda style adobe ranch for games out of town.
I already have the buildings so it would be wrong not to, wouldn't it?
::)
How do you find the time to do all this, I wonder, for me it takes ages to complete one single build :?
I work shifts, mate, so often have time to myself during the day when the missus is at work.
Gives me time to get on with things undisturbed.
Aha!
I now NEED one of those for out of town lynchings.
And a Lynch Mob too.... >:D
I've been working nights in shifts the last 5 weeks (5 nights work, 2 days off, 2 nights work, 5 days off, etc.) and especially the 5 days off periods suddenly have given me a lot of time to get a lot of stuff done, so I totally get that!
Love the church!
Yup, you've got to get yourself a hanging tree. Mine is made out of a cutting from a mature ivy (hedera helix in case Dean is reading!). It looks suitability deformed. I haven't based it or re-foliated it yet though (along with everything else for my Old West town).
Mate, do you want a little bell? I picked up some in a $2 shop in the "craft/fabric" section a while back.
;)
Matt
Oh well, my Project with the real medieval castle ends at the end of this month :'( So if I don't manage to conjure a sudden work immediately, I will have lots of free time... I guess I can get some hobby projects moving then.
So to help Paul a bit, I made a list: ;) :D
- cemetary
- hanging tree + minis for that
- ranch + cattle + vaqueros
- creek (we haven't seen that yet, have we?)
- railroad personnel
- apaches + camp
- comanches (somebody has to get those done! ;) ) + camp
- wild life (buffalos, wolves, cougars (the animal types)
I guess this thread will go on forever!! ;D
I've run out of space for a gallows. I'm also too tight to buy one!
But the gallows are only for official hangings. Any self respecting lynchmob needs a hanging tree.
I thought that in Oz, our police were known as Troopers (Waltzing Matilda ref) rather than Constables? Perhaps Constables in a largeish town.

Let's not argue about who killed who...
I'm in Mason's OW project!

I heard you shot the sheriff, but apparently you didn't kill the other one; whatsis name?
I heard he fought the law, but the law won.
I am still working n the little additions to the church and hope to finish the tree later.
I have also picked up some new members of the Apache tribe, again beautifully worked on by the brush of Bugsda.
Piccies of them soon.
:D
Very fine job indeed! :-* :-* :-* Blooming lovely more likely! :drool smiley:
*sorry, was picking my jaw up off the floor* :o
Bugsdas is one of my favourite painters, lovely work. :-*
Geez, I wish I had a Bugsda to pass along the hundreds of figures I need painted lol
Isn't DMH going to come out with Aussie outlaws pack at some point?
Mason, I have a confession to make here. Your old west project is always such a pleasure to come back to, you have something for everyone there and must make a lot of people envious of it, wishing we all had time, talent, inspiration and friends to use in it! I don't know what to say that fits this the best, but I STAND TO ATTENTION HERE AND SALUTE A TRUE MINI TROOPER!!!! lol lol lol
Keep up the good work mate.
No idea, mate, but surely it would be easy enough to convert some old west figures yourself?
What would the main differences be, as I have no idea?
??? ???
Basically not much. If one starts with a good 'duster' coat, a hat swap should suffice. though Ned Kelly would need a simple GS armour plate on top of a basic 1800's attire. Sadly my GS skills aint that good.
West Wind do a not Ned Kelly in their EotD range.
Just having a peek as haven't been on the forum for a while. Awesome stuff, Mason!
I look forward to getting shot outside the church or in front of that tree sometime soon.
Currently got a fully painted posse, so let's do some LOTOW soon :).
Bert
Useful bit of scenery that Paul.
The tree looks excellent,mate
The tree looks excellent,mate
Ha.. Masons got wood!! Teh hee hee! ;)
Doctor, I have heard of wooden arms, and even legs, but a Hickory dickery Doc ?????
I have run out of space to put everything on the table at once, but that is a good thing.
It just means that every time you set up it will be different.
;)
Splendid stump Paolo :D
You mean you don't have a predefined map for Upsheet Creek and it's surrounding area that you effectively "scroll" around for different games? Shame on your sir, shame ;)
I'm with Paul on this - my own town has never been set up the same way twice. MUCH more fun to be had that way!
Thats the first and only time anyone has every said that to him ;)
Re: The Tree. So, you've relocated your town to redwood country, then? That is one whopping monster tree - very finely done. This thread needs a special condensation of all the worthy photos for easier drooling.
Pictures of Don Pablo Diaz and his crew should be up soon......
Very nice,mate
Very nice and who makes Maria and her children?
Ay caramba! Splendido banditos muchachos.
You're going to need a bigger town :)
Or, as suggested before, a monster table with Upsheet Creek one side of the Rio Grande and Malamute's marvellous San Antonio on the other.
Now that would be a Salute-worthy display / participation game.
Maybe next year ;)
The Banditos look MAGNIFICO...AND they don't have to show you no stinking badges. VERY WELL DONE as always!
Don Pablo Diaz and his Band?
Pah! Not one trumpet? No sign of a guitar? Some band. Old Murray Hatchy will be spinning in his grave.
Nice harmonious painting though ;)
Chickoutta red shirt and fancy hat! :D :D :D ... :D
She and the rest of the family look good - nice work Pablo.

Its a tempting prospect! ;D
Yes do it. But bring it to Tactica or somewhere else closer to me.
Aha!
Someone got it.... :D
The Don himself seems to have got away with it though.
You have yourself a deal!
In fact I have just bought a house, so can you hold on the shipping part until I have got setteled..
You better not be making a reference to the US Batchelor tv show... >_>
Great looking Mexican gang Paul 8)
I guess it's actually formed by Don Pablo and his family plus all the extended family of cousins, uncles and whatnots who work for Don Pablo's estates :)
So cool, can't wait to see the hacienda!!! ;D
Not at all, mate.
Oh good, I was worried for a moment there, I'll tell Bibbles we don't need an intervention afterall ;D
I ended up reading all the posts from everyone around the time of the last few manic days before BLAM last year and it brought all the memories I have of that time: the mad rush to get it all completed and the inspiration that all the responses provided to help me get there.
Bendy plastic WotC SW Mos Eisley.. right !! Goes with the Mexicans ;) ;) ;) ;) I'll join you in painting figures :D
EDIT: I think you've made the right choice Paul, Its been such a blast so far it would be a shame to not finish it.
No one will complain if the Creek makes a return appearance, it was great fun. I'm happy to help out too, especially if you want to play something else. You have more dedication to specific projects than I do, I've got my Old West project, my modern project and bits and pieces from half a dozen others on the go. It's admirable!
A good project is one that ends :)
A good project is one that ends :)
Do something new mate! Sci-Fi perhaps? Or classical Post-Apocalyps? It will inspire you to do more stuff, and more strange stuff :)
If you ask me - your project is way to historical at the moment. Add a dinousar, some martians and perhaps an angry spirit set on the worlds destruction and you'll have something fab for BLAM.
Well done Paul - the right decision !!
Damn apaches..........on route to ya partner :)
Have you built a Cat house for upcreek?....Saloon girls n stuff?
Well for what it's worth I think you should take the Creek to BLAM because I want to play with all those toys........me, selfish never ;)
Me .. Me.. Want one.
Put mine together first thing this morning and slapped a bit of paint on it (I'll add it to a new post I'll be starting in a few days) and it looks great! Cheers,Paul, for the towers and the very kind words
Very cool idea. :)
OOh that's smart, Well done James - your a top lad!
May I suggest that one of those towers to added next to a corral so that when you roll the dice, the dice roll out in to the corral and not disperse amongst the gaming area... Of course what happens to possible minis inside the corral is another matter :D
It was Bobble, not Bibbles, who designed these, mate.
Bubbles shall be designing the next one.....
;)
All under control, mate.
All four establishment with Towers added will have a 'yard' or similar to contain the escaping dice.
:D
I hope to make a start on the first one tomorrow.
I hope James makes one that fits his factory building... one can pour the dice into the factory chimney and all that :)
Can't wait to see your dice towers ready Paul, I will surely nick your ideas ;)
Dice towers as terrain pieces...most excellent. I was contemplating it: nice to see it executed. Hopefully there is no copyright on this idea, as you can consider it stolen. lol
I've seen some nice versions of this idea at conventions. Very cool to see it here.
Have you built a Cat house for upcreek?....Saloon girls and n stuff?
Dice towers? Dice towers?
Right, that does it.
I'm going to put a volcano on top of my cave system, and the crater shall be the dice rolling receptacle!
;)
...Actually, thinking about it, the rules I'm codging together are going to be entirely sans dice (yay!). So scrub that idea :D
<q>wait until you see the size of it for a start</q>
I shouldn't think they'd be that impressed in a cat house.... lol
Nice paint job on those Pinkertons. :)
Great work as always. I am amazed at the spin offs and directions this project has taken. All of them marvellous. A really great thread to read.
Looking good. I really like these under construction building. They really add a nice frontier town feel.
Do the dice rool out on the table or inside the building?
Looking good. I really like these under construction building. They really add a nice frontier town feel.
Looks brilliant,mate :-*
Do the dice rool out on the table or inside the building?
Think the plan was for them to roll out into a fenced in enclosure.
Is that a lid? Do you remove it then stick the dice in the top?
Glib remarks aside, those WIP construction sites are great!
Cheers
Matt
Very nice. 8)
Oh go on, buy some more. Any surplus buildings can find a home down under easy enough :D :D
M

F
:-I
lol
I thought that it might give you a funny turn.
;D
He's not feeling very well this week either, now you've gone and made him feel worse lol
He's not feeling very well this week either, now you've gone and made him feel worse lol
I'm glad that you're taking the time to finish it off and not leaving it in it's raw state (which I know you wouldn't).
To be fair I couldn't have felt much worse but it didn't help lol
Ooh I like the construction materials lying around. Looks like one of those chaps that hasn't quite counted the cost before building, and has suddenly realises he needs extra planks, fibro, and stairs!
The lack of stairs with a mostly finished top floor is disturbing me now I've noticed it. Go the cheap option and make a ladder to stick in there?
Including a ladder.
;)
Oh I knew I shouldn't have fretted, that the Master Builder would have had everything in hand. Though you may be breaking some building codes not having suitable safe access at this stage. I at least hope its fenced off with suitable warnings.
The constables may have to inspect the site. ;)
Looking good.
Quick basic question, what material are you using for the base of the building ?
Is that wood ?
Have you built a Cat house for upcreek?....Saloon girls n stuff?
Health and safety in the Old West???
lol
I hope you're going to put Wild West signs on it, like you have with all your other buildings... ;)
The fussy sod doesn't look to happy that his house has moved outside. lol
And that his name is The Doink.
Oooh, that house under construction looks good. Reminds me of Deadwood.
I could do with one of those 1:1 cat houses. we've been 'adopted' by a local cat too. It's a refugee for exactly the same reason as yours lol
Not surprised, the cat's grumpy that its house is not finished to the same standard of details and painting than your other buildings. The window is a nice touch, though!
It's weird with cats, they choose who they will hang out with for the most part. It's that non-pack instict I think, unlike dogs.
Seriously, this thread is great. :-* :-*
Keep it coming for i´m loving it.
Nice additions :-* :-*
The trees are nice and the colors you choose mix well with your scenario.
Well done.
Very nice.
Do my eyes spot small painted knots on those coffee stirrers?? o_o :-* :-* :-*
Well, you've polished a turd ;D
Looks good mate, I really like the details on the inside that make it look like it's still being built 8)
That's just crazy insane detail work :o Just Amazing!
Aha!! Scenery bits. :-* :-*
Always enrich the scenario.
I must get my hands on some of those items. :D
I am honoured, Thanks Paul :D
Sad but true lol, I have started on another project recently, I hope this one gets finished, It has now become an ambition of mine to present a game at BLAM, now aiming for 2016 ::)
Are you thinking about throwing some kind of tarpaulin or canvas over it to keep the rain off the beds? Just until it's finisehd?
Another masterpiece.
Is it the numbers on the playing cards, only just noticed on a closer look.
Is it the numbers on the playing cards, only just noticed on a closer look.
Just awesome! I love the worker site out back! :-*
D'oh. That passed me by..... I spent a while trying to work out if they were a sex joke! :D
More top notch work Paul, you just need some half clad beauty's to tempt in the passing potential customers lol.
Thanks for the mention to the blog Paul...always does my ego the world of good...
It is also a great article but I see you made no mention of 'fisting' - wonder why ::)
Big congrats, mate! I shall get a copy tomorrow and have a read
I'll have to buy it and bask in the reflected glory of having been there! :D
Well done mate.
I have just read the article about Upsheet Creek in Wargames Illustrated Issue 331.
I can't remember if Upsheet has got a printing press / newspaper building, if not it'd be a good edition to the town.
And yes that was an exceedingly poor joke but adding a news building could be fun :D
Besides the printing press (which is very cool idea me thinks), did you already have a Chinese laundry? Prospector's office or whatcmacallit?
(Thanks for the mention :))
I occasionally go back over bits and have myself a chuckle. Well done.
All of the inhabitants of the Creek should get a mention in the next article.
;)
Congrats Paul, well deserved exposure of a cracking looking game that I hope to play in October ;)
Jeff
I totally have to get the next issue then. So I can bask in the reflected glory af having played on that board and of being a resident of the Creek.
One of the things missing, indeed.
Maybe the Paddle could be its name, but it may be better off without.....
Paul,
I'm totally psyched by the threatened Chinatown!
Lon
lol
I vote for Upsheet Creek with the Paddle
"Your local news splash"
Read the article today! Congrats mate. Well deserved recognition. :)
Seconded, congrats Mason!
lol
I vote for Upsheet Creek with the Paddle
"Your local news splash"
Sounds good I'll need to get a copy.
Local youths peddling the paddle to passersby would be a sight to behold...
Unless the paddle is an old abandoned paddle boat, a local hang for a band of delinquents.
Then upsheet creek would really be without a paddle ;)
lol lol lol lol
It would be rather special wouldn't it! Upsheet creek with a broken paddle... ;) It would be an awful lot of work though.
lol Thinking is free Paul, it's only when you start buying things that it's costly ;)
What a naughty boy I am. >:D My sketchbook and brain are full of ideas I want to do, and my workbench is littered with just started projects. It is a joy to share some of that "brilliance" with you. :D
Just bought the mag, the first time for years I think. I'm looking forward to reading it later.
Couldn'd find a copy here yet, but I will hunt one down! :D
I read it today.
Great job! I am looking forward to the next article.
You may want to see what others say first before hunting too hard.
:)
Did Bugsda already have his namesake in the Creek? If not he'd make a very good Native I guess... :D
You jammy git, their lovely :-* :-* :-* :-*
They are crackers, :-* not sure about the leopard print wearing one though... lol
The article was great, it brought back the game and all the fun playing it. More please!
Lovely Apache Scouts! :o
I do hope the forked tongue white men don't prevail against the Apache in BLAM >:D
They are crackers, :-* not sure about the leopard print wearing one though... lol
Cheers
Matt.
Leopard print?! :o Can't you recognise a fucking Laura Ashley floral chintz when you see one! Sometimes I don't know why I bother ;) lol
Leopard print?! :o Can't you recognise a fucking Laura Ashley floral chintz when you see one! Sometimes I don't know why I bother ;) lol
Betty has a bit of an attitude ;)
lol lol lol lol
As we say here in Massachusetts! "Wicked Awesome!" My apaches are downright grimy compared to this bunch!
Stunning work mate, they really pop. :)
As we say here in Massachusetts! "Wicked Awesome!" My apaches are downright grimy compared to this bunch!
Those Indians are very very nice.
However! Everytime I read the word Apache my mind goes to this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f6tnj7IEI0E
Wow. Love those Apache (even Betty!!). Do you know who makes them?
lol lol
I can just see you dressed up like that.
:D
Sadly it has been some time since I could fit in to my Indian bikini...
However! Everytime I read the word Apache my mind goes to this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f6tnj7IEI0E
Betty has a last few in his hands right now to finish off the band, when he stops faffing around in the LPL that is.
::)
He has other more pressing work to do at present ;) :D
I did notice a few Texians making an appearance in the LPL lately.
You obviously still have those pictures in your possession that keep convincing him to paint all that earlier stuff.
;)
According to Burt Lancaster in Ulzana's Raid. "Apache war parties come in all sizes... sometimes with a hundred braves... sometimes with one. :D
Why 26 Paul? You have me intrigued! What and why is this the magic number? :)
Wow !
Very nice miniatures. Different brands mix very well together.
Is there going to be a train for my Indians to ride on in this game?
Co-operation, or the lack of it most probably, could be the key.
;)
He looks appropriately intense :)
lol
Looks like he's been sniffing superglue to me... ;)
Very cool bear! Lol! I was going to introduce a wolf that always seemed to get into trouble around town but a bear....THATS trouble!
...The bear was hilarious last year.
Excellent figure, where did you get him from please?
Great additions all round mate although I think an entire group shot is in order ;D
Oh, and when have you ever seen anyone at BLAM cooperate with anyone else lol
Great mini but the colors.....WOW!
That Clean Shaven me looks very dapper! - Nice job

;)
Thank you I have just ordered a set while I remember.
I dont have a problem in mixing things up too much, so long as they are not too different in proportion.
An 'irregular' band like this is much easier to mix and match as well.
There are a several manufacturers represented in there: Black Scorpion, Foundry, Galloping Major and DMH.
The next few will include a couple of my own figures that have been converted to Apaches, so there will be five different brands in there by the time the band is finished.
Love it! Thanks very much, mate! It is an honour and a privelage to be part of Upsheet Creek :D
But they all hang together remarkably well - I hadn't even considered them being different manufacturers to be honest.
The chief with the headdress and shotgun - would work equally in Necromunda as a Ratskin, as I'm sure you've already considered. :)
Another resident of the Creek.
Not a BLAM attendee this time, but someone who has been supportive of this thread from the very beginning.
Meet 'Poco Loco', the 'leettle, crazy Mexican'....
A Mexican who reside in town as a gambler and gun for hire who occasionally works for Don Paulo Diaz and his Mexican 'Family'..
This is pretty nice! The colour choice is excellent, and the paintwork is outstanding :o
Cool additions. I see I have a rival in the trapping business. :D
:o :o :o :o
Such an honour! 8)
Love the mini :-* I think I need to provide you with a soundtrack of me cursing in Spanish so you can play it every time Don Paulo needs El Poco Loco and his steady (?) sixshooter arm :)
Just taken some pictures of the next few.
Fingers crossed that they are ok when I upload them.....
I am just putting the finishing touches to a few more Citizens right now, between that and painting the hall, that is.
It does seem a little strange going from painting little fiddly chaps to great blank walls all afternoon.... ::)
Glad that you approve, mate.
Everyone at BLAM should have a character done before then.
There are still a few more to fit in
Must have another foray down Upsheek Creek way, mate, the last game we played was a killer :).
Well I'm coming to BLAM this year and you haven't met me before, so just to give you an idea do you have a figure a with a firm jutting jaw and Greek Adonis like body because that will do ;)
author=Mason link=topic=60011.msg965161#msg965161 date=
Jeff965 is not easy but I do have a couple of ideas, along with the others that I have not made a character for yet, but if you are insisting upon a big chin and a an Adonis-like body.... ;D
Just be careful what you wish for!
Ok, I suppose short fat and bald would be more accurate lol.
Ok, I suppose short fat and bald would be more accurate lol.
Great paintwork (as you'd expect from Bugsda!) and nice sculpts - especially the one in the middle lol
He also painted Captain Mancave for me at the same time, hence his appearance in this picture.
Dont worry, he wont be appearing in the Creek (but I may sneak him onto Captain Blood's Cave Wars table at BLAM :D).
Excellent band of apaches you have been collecting.
Sshh. Don't tell him!! He might not notice. lol lol lol
Wow, i dissapear to the land of the rising sun, and all these visual treats await my eyes upon my return.
....As is man-cave! well done Bugsda on that one.
It is nice to see one painted up at last.
My
Mine is to be done this week.. :D
Captain Mancave would be powerful ally for the Apache, white men would be doomed! :D
Great additions all round mate although I think an entire group shot is in order ;D
Cheers.
Do you want one...?
:D
While the Apaches look wonderful, that fellow in the middle rather steals the show,
Yes please :)
Please tell me you have the Teen Angels somewhere to go with the Captain lol
Inspiring work!
Hope you get well enough soon Paul... but not too soon enough so have time to take that pic of everything included :D
Glad you put the most important people at the front :D
It had to be done with thigh-flashing like that going on.
:D
I quite agree, if you've got it flaunt it lol
I quite agree, if you've got it flaunt it lol
Amazing! :o
That's a real crowd indeed!
She might be baring a thigh but she needs to look over her left shoulder :D
lol I thought the same thing 'glad to see I'm right at the front in the middle' ;)
But Malamute got there first! lol
(The deranged egotist!)
;)
I see my alternate figure in the second row :)
Great photo! It's more "where's Mally?" than "where's Wally?"
...... (not forgetting Jeff and Bugsda too, of course ;))
Keep at it Paul, there is still the river and railway trestle bridge to come :D
The promised 'Crowd' photo of all the inhabitants (so far!) of Upsheet Creek and the surrounding area....
There is definitely somebody missing as far as I can see. One of the town's builders, perhaps? A specialist in stone working I think. You need to sort out a figure for the mason, Mason!
Fantastic.
That's a crowd Millwall would be proud of! ;)
I was just looking and said (too loudly in the office), I can see my ass in there! Que strange looks from work colleagues! :D

There's always Pablo the Ass:

The Mexicans....

The extended family and henchmen of Don Pablo Diaz.
;)
You should be used to those kind of looks by now.
:D
You do seem have overlooked this one several times, Mama:
But it would have to be a Masonic mason, apron, gloves, level and square, giving a funny handshake.
Oi! I resemble that comment! >:( ;D
Oh I'm so envious of those who get to play in UC >:(
Happy that you blast rest of us with good AARs with lots of pics :)
Pablo is no Don. ;)
lol
What a great collection of figures and buildings you've amassed
Nick is right, we need Mason the mason next
Stunning collection. Maybe you need a little boy (ma' son):

Or just an Ass. :D
Eee Aww :D
How about a drunkard with a mason jar? ;)
But there appears to be an imposter in the Apache photo, at the back second from the left, there appears to be a white man?
Great set of figures :-* :-* :-*
Love the crowd shot.
But there appears to be an imposter in the Apache photo, at the back second from the left, there appears to be a white man?
He was the Elk stand in at last year's BLAM! Friend of the Indians. I, however, gunned down most of them in the game I was in. I'd been really nice up to the point I was attacked without provocation (Dean!).
Just wait until you play this year then.
To win you will need to co-operate with the other players on your side.
Co-operation?
At BLAM?
lol lol lol
The Apache band of Geronimac....

You forgot to add MANCAVE in his distinctive Laura Ashley floral chintz. ;D
Wonderful, Paul! :-*
I always keep away from the updates to get as much goodies as possible when I click on the link. It's fab as usual!
It just occurred to me that I am fortunate that I do not have to come up with a character for your username for BLAM.
That would have been more than a little difficult, I reckon.
It just occurred to me that I am fortunate that I do not have to come up with a character for your username for BLAM.
lol lol More characters than most soap operas. "Wild West Enders"
"Cent-Arse Inducer". No, wait, that's just worse. Let me try again...
"Cents Reducer". So nicknamed by the town grocers for his tendency to haggle.
;)
Senor Centucer?
Well, now I'm imagining "Señor Seducer", a Mexican Don Juan / Pepe le Pew kind of character in one of those gaudy ranchero outfits...
Senator C. Deucer?
:-* :-* :-*
Still a bloody silly name, though..... ;D
I just hope I last longer than the second turn lol
I am glad that you approve, mate.Mate, it is so lovely!
:D
Still a bloody silly name, though..... ;D
Not if you happen to like centaurs :D
Cracking show mate 8) 8) 8)
I just hope I last longer than the second turn lol
You can get a prescription for that, y'know. lol ;D
Mate, it is so lovely!
What's silly about me being a seducer who specialises in centaurs? ???
I especially love your creativity
You do have to be a little creative bearing in mind of the usernames of the people who attend BLAM.
If you ever meet any of them you would not be too surprised to discover that they have some weird names attached to them though....
;)
And said creek will need a trestle bridge over it for the railway and a gold mine/prospecting area.
Also, a trans-dimensional portal to Barsoom. ;D
Judging by that photo I assume Overlord has some sort of beef with Elk 101...? ;D
Yeah, weirdos.
(everyone assumes you don't mean them lol)
Judging by that photo I assume Overlord has some sort of beef with Elk 101...? ;D
I hadn't noticed that! Perhaps he wants the furry parasol?
While pictures of the entire population of Upsheet Creek sure is nice.
I cannot help to shake the feeling that you are just distracting us all from the fact that you have not actually buildt the Creek itself. You are not slacking of are you? :D
And said creek will need a trestle bridge over it for the railway and a gold mine/prospecting area.
Also, a trans-dimensional portal to Barsoom. ;D
Yeah, and its not like we are short on Mars stuff to use either. ;)
Jump to it Slacker! :D
First read "Tommy Two-Glands".

lol lolTime for some green stuffing we all assume? Three laughing smileys in a row sets the new name in stone :D
That too.
:D
He's twice the man we are, and we all look up to him. ;D
Well those are some MIGHTY FINE looking Folk, Pilgrim. GREAT WORK & COOL NAMES!
So when do we get some photos of the entire town?! :o
Time for some green stuffing we all assume? Three laughing smileys in a row sets the new name in stone :D
Cheers, Al.
Would it interest you to know that one of those 'unnamed' Citizens is destined to be called 'Deaf Al'....?
;)
The next time we get a game in I will use all of the buildings and take some photos.
:)
Right, now that horse worrier has been dealt with...... ;D
Back to the other 'Named' Characters....
From left to right.
(Username in brackets if different to the character)
Back row: Eric Shed (Eric the Shed), Brian's Mum (Scale Provider and General Nosy Cow).
Middle Row: Hammers, Lord Over (Overlord), The Mac Brothers (AndyM and gamer Mac), Thunderchicken.
Front row: Elk the Trapper and his dog '101' (Elk 101), Mama Mute (Malamute), Hu Rhu, Earl G. Ray (Ray Earle), Dr De 'Ath.
Wow Paul!!! Your output and dedication is phenomenal. I love the pictures of the whole population together and then seeing the BLAM characters. Keep up the good work.
Now that would be cool...finally getting in a game...OH BABY!
Would actually all characters have a home, or some sort of a roof above their head?
Wait a minute, wait a minute... I thought Mama Mute was the old biddy... Now he's become a hot young babe - that's not right... ;D
You should have shown Thunderchicken as the Invisible Man :D
(Sorry Neil - cheap shot... lol)
Mama has always been the cheap tart in the pink dress..... ;)
I have never been cheap! >:(
A tart maybe :D
lol lol
That woke you up, didn't it?
:D
Especially after a leaving do at work last night. I really shouldn't drink on a school night ::)
I too thought Mama was the old lady, but now.....
well Hellooooo Mama !!!!!
You have left out Dr. the Viking and myself. Why are you discriminating against foreign traveling doctors? Not to mention ze germans.
Don't make me take of my belt and get over there!
Especially after a leaving do at work last night. I really shouldn't drink on a school night ::)
School night? I know you're the right height but I don't need an image of you in short trousers and a peaked cap! :D
And, finally, the Germans....
Reserving a table at the Creek.
Pre-sunlounger period, but this is where it all began, folks.
You take my word for it.
:D
Right. Now don't do it again! (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hdIAEpSyYTw)
School night? I know you're the right height but I don't need an image of you in short trousers and a peaked cap! :D
Hahaha!
Knowing you that image has been in your mind for sometime and you didn't need prompting! :D
lol lol
It's funny because it's true...
You can just make out Dirk under the table after his third bottle of Merlot... ;)
Just to go off on a tangent from the current discussion, but the weathering on the table and floor is excellent.
Love that table! Those dastardly Prussians are everywhere!
Wonderful.
You should totally do that. I expect it finished for BLAM.
This. Now get on with it. :D
(http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a605/andymac2105/Mobile%20Uploads/san-diego-arizona-railroad-185B25D_zpsxanugia5.jpg) (http://s1286.photobucket.com/user/andymac2105/media/Mobile%20Uploads/san-diego-arizona-railroad-185B25D_zpsxanugia5.jpg.html)
Do this one >:D >:D >:D
Do this one >:D >:D >:D
Te hee-hee! Would you like the rod I made for your back also? ;)
Wonderful work on the table, you are full of great ideas Paul! 8)
Will be great to see what kind the end result will be for the Creek and the track :)
Maybe include a railway tunnel on the other cliff piece?
Wonderful.
You should totally do that. I expect it finished for BLAM.
This. Now get on with it. :D
Yes, GET ON WITH IT!
:D
Do it!
Do it!
Do it!
Do it!
Do it!
:D
I'd say it's an excellent way to get a striking scenery peace, depending on how you do it you could either go,
Shallow creek with translucent/colourless water effect or if you wanted a contrast go for a brighter more aquatic/turquoise colour for a more Hollywood style water effect.
I suggest photographs of Zion Valley as good inspiration, as it's a water source you could introduce some greenery.
Do this one >:D >:D >:D
Oh yes! >:D
lol
Once you done it could you cast it as I'd like a copy. ;) lol
Brilliant idea! Look forward to watching this develop.
Paul, if I were you, i'd agree to build it providing Andy draws up the precise construction plans... ;)
Challenge accepted!
So it's just a quick sketch, nothing fancy.....
......
Te-heehee! Only kidding! But there's plenty plans out there....
lol lol lol
Ah, ye wee genius! ;)
I've already got a jig sorted for making trestles...
But you're not having it >:D
Looks like you have it half built already Jim - should be finished in no time at that rate of going (especially with the painting league finishing up)...
Every time you think this thread couldn't get any more amazing... :o
If this happens, what could possibly be left to do?! lol A Back To The Future-esque 1930's version of the Creek for pulp/gangster games on another table right next to the original Creek? :D
Well, the bridge would obviously also need to be modelled in a second, collapsed state. And a third, still-under-construction state. Why, anything else would be downright miserly ;)
Not really my idea, mate.
It was Andy's suggestion.
Piss takes aside, Paul. If you do jump at it, the end result will be damned good.
Ah, the table I was referring to was the miniature one, with the Prussian flag on it ;)
So you are full of good ideas :D
Brilliant response Paul lol
It certainly will, but he needs to get his skates on though ;)
TTG
:D
I can see with all this talk of a train bridge Paul is railing against the idea...
I'll get me coat.
It would be awesome once done though :).
Be careful lads, he might conscript you at BLAM for some 'teamwork' bridge building.. ;)
Que Bridge over the river Kwai theme song.
So it's not done yet ? I'm seriously disappointed by your productivity Mason !?
Want some help on the cliff building... ???
I have it sussed, but if you can still source that cork bark, that would be much appreciated.
:D
I'll drop by my source later this week...
how much do you want...
HOLY CRAP!! that bark is cheap in the UK!! :o
HOLY CRAP!! that bark is cheap in the UK!! :o
Now I can understand how you guys can build entire tables made of that stuff. I thought you must just be made of money.
In Denmark the amount of bark in that picture would easily be 80+ pounds.
I am bringing an extra suitcase for BLAM just for bringing home tree bark!
Bluefoam is even harder to get hold of in Denmark.
I know a guy who can hook you up with a midget to carry you around at parties (seriously!) But bluefoam that is waay to exotic.
I know a guy who can hook you up with a midget to carry you around at parties (seriously!)
This thread should be renamed "A lot of pages spent not building the bridge".

While the bridge might be a spectacular looking piece of scenery, does a long narrow span across a space eating chasm actually have any gaming potential? To be blunt, it seems like a project that will consume a lot of time & a fair amount of energy & cash that could be used for more practical &, probably, more enjoyable gaming projects. There now, I've played the Devil's Advocate...it's rather a fun thing to do.
I must admit I did wonder myself given the time, effort and space involved how practical the application of the piece would be in the game. Given space constraints surrounding storage, is this a practical idea...?
When has that ever stopped any of us from building something a little crazy? ;)
Thought the same thing when I built that XXXXXX volcano >:(

Take your common sense and rational thinking elsewhere. That sort of thing is not wanted here. A railwaybridge however is. :D
+1
Thought the same thing when I built that XXXXXX volcano >:(
lol
But look at the pleasure it gave everybody :D
Fear not, chaps.
I have a plan!
;)
The whole thing will be built in several pieces, alleviating the storage problems, with all the river sections in one box, the canyon sides in another and the 'bridge' sections in a third.
They will all be able to be used indepently of each other in a variety of configurations (Andy's sketch got me thinking. Cheers, mate! :D).
I dunno, this modular idea all seems a bit radical...
A radical modular bridge, sounds very promising! :D
Although, the bridge will be the last thing to be built.
Usually tends to be the case, though a levitating bridge from nowhere to nowhere might have been fun ;) :D
Edit: actually that's quite 'Dr Who' in concept and could provide the basis for an Aliens versus Cowboys game
getting a native american patterned carpet to tie in with the gaming table - such dedication.
looks like the builders are struggling to complete that hotel in time. Also love the attention to detail... getting a native american patterned carpet to tie in with the gaming table - such dedication. Oh, and the town doesn't look half bad either.
I wondered where my poncho had gone... :D

n' epic
Fuckin' epic my son :-*
So many wagons! o_o So many beautifully individual buildings o_o ...
Mmmmmm...MMMMM! ;D
Pure joy.
I saw pictures of the whole town as I was scrolling down on my phone and immediately got on the computer instead!
:o Brilliant Mason!
They will, of course, cooperate fully to increase their chances of success.... ;)
You keep on using that word, I do not think it means what you think it means o_o
lol
You keep on using that word, I do not think it means what you think it means o_o

From the BLAM Concise English Dictionary :
Cooperate: verb (used without object), cooperated, cooperating. 1. to apparently work or act together or jointly for a common purpose or benefit only to screw each other over at the first opportunity, when least expected, or when most expected. Actually, who are we kidding, pretty much at any time.
2. to work or act with another or other persons willingly and agreeably up until the point where it is much more amusing to screw them over.
From the BLAM Concise English Dictionary :lol lol lol Pretty much my understanding of the word co-operate :D

Big and lovelly town. :-* :-*
Indeed you need more buildings for all those citizens. :)
Wonderfull work Paul.
How big is the current board? Four by Four? If so double it! Immediately! (If not sooner!) This kind of Old West goodness certainly deserves a two fer!
COOL! Not only is the mini pretty accurate & BEAUTIFULLY painted, it shows a kinship to ZZTops. GREAT WORK!
It's an honor to be part of The Town...Pilgrim!
That's great, he looks just how I imagine Al to look!
Does he also play banjo in a three-man blues band?
Great character!
Guess there will be some mushrooms in the backyard of the Gunshop :D
Brilliant, Paul, I love this interpretation of me lol
Liking the fez :)
Splendid. He certainly looks like one of those foreign types. ;) ;D
Nicely painted gent in his smoking cap and jacket.
What make is he?
Perhaps he is a spy for the dastardly huns? Maybe a wayward schnapps salesman?
The Mini Prof. W. is an appropriately classy act...VERY WELL DONE!
Unfortunately, I have no idea.
I thought it was a Westwind figure but I cannot find it anywhere on their site.
Maybe someone else knows.
???
It's part of the old Design28 range (now Black pyramid)
I'm interested Paul, I don't play Wild West games but if theses rules allow gangs of marauding miniatures to wander around the table beating each other up I'm sure I can convert them to other periods.
Perhaps we could get you a certificate to show your worth, then you would be certified.
As always your work inspires, long may you continue.
very nice 8)
Hello Mason,
I'm interesting by your roolz set.
On the modelling front, there has not been much going on as I have been mostly working on 1:1 scale stuff around the house but I have finished a conversion for the main character of this year's scenario.
Proof will be provided during the week.
;)
The scenario has been given the provisional title of '3:10 to Surbiton'
The scenario has been given the provisional title of '3:10 to Surbiton'

I now have to convince Bugsda to paint the new version to match the original.
You could always try appealing to his sense of duty, or honour, or his wallet. ::)
I like it already!
lol
Thats priceless,
Oh this gets better and better! I'm really looking forward to it. I do have a great deal of sympathy for Geronimac though (despite shooting that figure in the back, though I hasten to add it was not THE Geronimac at the time).
You could always try appealing to his sense of duty, or honour, or his wallet. ::)
Of those three I think only the wallet will appeal lol
Interesting... :o
Geronimac, of course. ::)
What is this co-op-er-ate you keep bringing up!?
Not sure I like my character being in chains :'( :'( :'(It just sets everyone up for the squeal GeroniMac Unchained!
FREEDOM
Not sure I like my character being in chains :'( :'( :'(
FREEDOM
"Man is born free, and everywhere he is in chains." Jean-Jacques Rousseau wrote that, not me but nevertheless I also demand freedom for Geronimac!!!
Great GS work with the poor chained Geronimac :-*
Will be great to see the mini when coloured by Bugsda :)
I know what cooperation is I'll have you know! It's when we gang up to thump someone just before turning on each other.

This thread is totally amazing 8)
I love the idea of the 'great Chief in Chains' 8) But I feel very sorry for the Cavalrymen who captured him considering your Apache Army :)
Looking forward to hear more about the scenario featuring the chained chief.
Cheers!
Should we be worried now that the Scots will show up i blue facepaint?
The pictures of him at his mate's place in Westminster wearing an orange bra may help.
;D ;D
Alright, I'll do it :o
lol
I know what cooperation is I'll have you know! It's when we gang up to thump someone just before turning on each other. This fella knows what's up lol
This fella knows what's up lol
I've been to BLAM before! It's brutality at its most refined. lol
Mine's packed in boxes for a week now, cards printed and dice ready. Woot! ;D
Well done Paul..... I'm still painting minis!!! :o
Mine's packed in boxes for a week now, cards printed and dice ready. Woot! ;D
That is just not serious. Where is the fun in that?
Slacker!
You should be attempting to make at least one more ship.
;D
Oi! I resemble that remark. :D Of course I'm making more ships, off the top of my head I've got 4 you haven't seen yet on the bench and about 20 odd planned and researched. (Not including more fighters.)
... contrary to the belief of some, I do have to sleep sometimes.....
How do you manage that with only 24 hs a day? ;)Well, he has admitted that he sleeps, does miniatures, drinks (a little, apparently ::)), no mention of any work though. ;D lol
Well, he has admitted that he sleeps, does miniatures, drinks (a little, apparently ::)), no mention of any work though. ;D lol
At least he is going to the station and not straight to the gallows (which looks like a very short walk from the sheriff's office) ;) lol
I am sure it will be great to play as per the last one, can't wait, four weeks to go.... :D
Looking superb Pablo!
All the work has paid off :-*
Looks great! 8) 8) 8)
I can't say it often enough: Your gaming table is awesome! :-*
I love the overall-buzzy theme of your western town with all those waggons and civilians scurring around 8)
Greetings :)
If you put all the civilians on the table at once, it might look like there's a civil insurrection going on! lol
Quote from: FramFramsonIf you put all the civilians on the table at once, it might look like there's a civil insurrection going on! Laugh
That could be fun too.
Cheesy Wink
That is one impressive looking table!
Wonderful setting. Your gaming table is one of the best old west I have everseen and is surely a great inspiration if I wasn't so lazy at the moment.
That's a MIGHTY FINE LOOKIN' Town you've built, Pilgrim. VERY WELL DONE!
That could be fun too.

Maybe some sort of 'Gangs of Upsheet Creek' beat down 8)
I am sure that you have some Minis fitting the Set, do you? (a Butcher, some irish folks, firefighters and so on)
As for lots of civilians, we played a game once where the sheriff had to hang two bad men. Obviously lots of civilians came to watch. In amongst the innocents were friends of the bad men. The lads playing them handed their action instructions to the umpire, who not only moved their figures but also some of the civilians. I was the sheriff & neither I nor my two deputies had any idea where the threat would come from (not a good thing to shoot an innocent by-stander) . A very tense few moves until the firing started.
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE give us a detailed report from BLAM - with LOTS of pics and commentary. No excuses of having too much fun to have documented it!!!
As I'll post these on the blog shortly after the event...which is a month away !!
Still feel a bit put out and picked upon what did my poor little Indian do?
Still feel a bit put out and picked upon what did my poor little Indian do?
You mean apart from running around on trains and generally shoot up the place?
Looking great Paul I am looking forward to sorting out all the injustices to the minorities at BLAM, that would be Apaches and Scots :D
Surprisingly, I completly missed this topic, and wonderfull minis and scenery ! :-*
Two weeks, five days and counting... :D
AND: Bugsda is AWOL with the chained version of GeroniMac!
Anybody seen him?
I might have to form a posse and hunt him down.
:o
Mohawks?!?! That boy is supposed to be on to Dayaks!! lol lol
Looks great Paul...
I still have a significant amount of work to complete for mine.... >:(
The Tong...
I spoke to him last week, he was busy painting Mohawks :D
Mohawks?!?! That boy is supposed to be on to Dayaks!! lol lol
Arhh yes, He did mention Dayaks last time we met up. ;)
Looks great Paul...
I still have a significant amount of work to complete for mine.... >:(
I concur with both sentiments! :D
I know I asked this before but who makes the non Foundry Tong?
Obelisk, now OOP IIRC.
I am awaiting something big 8)
Keep us updated! :D
I might have an idea of what's coming up ;)
Nine days and counting... Just sayin'. :D
Unless of course you're counting Thursday then it's only eight :D
You can try and apply the pressure but it wont work.
I don't REALLY need to build it for the game....but I will.
;D ;D
Pressure, I never mentioned pressure? Are you feeling pressure then? Relax only eight days to go now. lol
I managed to snaffle an hour at the table this afternoon to make a little progress.
Then I need to start working with a very different material....
;)
Cowboy jelly?
I just hope it all dries out quick enough, there is a lot of watered down PVA on that roof......
Fingers crossed.
:D
Only five days to go now, best hurry up Eh Slacker? :D
Hmmm. What would be the purpose of covering the timbers in a tarp unless something was being hidden there?
A DeLorean!
The clock is ticking and you still have a rail carriage to do :D
cheers
James
Wibble, wibble, wibble......
More wibble.....
lol
Predictable, but perfectly timed gents. lol lol
The tent looks good Paul. Not something I'd have thought of straight away, and a pity you hid so much of the mdf construction, I really liked your last in progress building, but it came out well. And certainly adds variety to the creek. Could be used for railway camps too ;)
Dont encourage them, Bertie, and they may bugger off.
Not a chance, we're always watching you... >:D
Building looks good though :)
Weirdo's....!
;D
So long as the WE does not include Steve, I aint bothered.
I'm watching now ...........
He's always watching you from the shadows. >:D
I'm watching now ...........
lol lol lol
Lovely :-* :-* :-*
You miss - lead me I thought you were building a building under construction! If that makes sense?
Lovely :-* :-* :-*
You miss - lead me I thought you were building a building under construction! If that makes sense?
He snared me with that one as well.
Haven't seen Hell on Wheels but I've seen the style of building in some other programme (may be Deadwood?).
Excellent Paul though some of us have finished you know lol
Brilliant! I hear the proprietor is fond of imported wines!
Paul, great house of fun, I think. Only Red wine, no cheap beer... lol
Dirk's is the cathouse - hilarious Paul lol
But Dirk is such a clean living boy... ;)
I love Hell on Wheels. It's not quite Deadwood, but it's not far off.
That reminds me, I need to start watching season 4, which I noticed the other week has slipped quietly onto Amazon Prime...
lol
That'll do nicely :D

I like the way you incorporated Nurglehh.
Btw it just occurred to me that Dirty Dirk's is where the fun takes place beneath the (canvas) sheets!
Wonderful stuff, creating the right atmosphere of grime and allure around Dirk.... and the buildings not bad either :)
Haven't checked this thread for a while. Things are looking great as usual. I love the makeshift look of the bordello.
Great addition mate!
Awesome as always. I love the canvas work! 8)
Great mobile brothel Paul! The language is perfectly right, although the signage will probably not attract many Amish people...
I like the way you incorporated Nurglehh.

Perhaps we should call him Dirk Diggler ;)
Brian's Mum having a nose at Dirk's goods.... ::)
Considering the nature of his enterprise this could be an interesting sensation...
Looks like a...erm..a... nice place to go.. ;D
That's an excellent way of using the surplus camping gear. VERY WELL & IMAGINATIVELY DONE!
Does Dirk have the appropriate permits and planning permission for this structure? Otherwise it's an unlawful erection and may have to be pulled down.
Oh, and you beat me to finishing the train, well done Paul :D
Careful how you use that thing Mason. No-one wants to suffer Boxcar Willie. It can be very embarassing.
Alrighty, then. It's called a box car but it has an open end platform, covered. Not really a combine (passenger, express combination car), it's not really a box car, it's not really a drover's caboose. I think you've invented something new to railroading. Or were you working from a photo or plans? Never seen anything quite like that. I wouldn't call my self a train spotter but I am into trains, for dang near fifty years.
So, what is that thing, really? :?
I don't check in this thread for a week and see what I miss?
Lords below, Mason. You've been busy. A damn fine job for a man under the gun!
Great job Paul
The only thing that does not meet BR Standard specification is the lack of a safety rail in the smoking area to stop the guard falling (getting pushed) out.
Not a train spotter but a Railway emgineer for 30 years so I am supposed to know what I'm talking about. Put a sign saying mind the step and you'll be ok
You've made it Paul! Well done.
Hope you guys enjoy blam, take lots of photos and share all the laughs for the rest of us.
Ps. May the constable win.
The offending article....

As previously mentioned, something I made up and threw together last night to act as the Government Snatch Wagon for the BLAM game.
A very quick paint job, but it will do.
Now, the question is: Will GeroniMac get to ride in his new wagon or will his band rescue him from that fate?
EXTRA! EXTRA!
Earth quake in Uptown Creek! Several casualties!
Looks like an "Artistic interpretation" of a London and South Western Railway 10 Ton Goods Brake "Road Van" 5706 (How it got to Upsheet Creek is another matter!)
Definite train spotter lol lol lol
An advantage of 15 mm is being able to put a full train on the table and still be able to have it "go somewhere". Of course, by a full train I mean about 3 to 5 cars behind the locomotive. And I plan to have a railroad yard, at least three tracks wide with a spur serving the stock yards. Got to have stock cars for the old west! (for carrying those long horned cattle to the eastern slaughter houses).
Perfect for chaining vengeful greybacks* up in too ;)
Cheers
Matt
*Hell on Wheels: Season 1
Those two remind me of another pair of Germans.....

That conversion work is why I checked out the boxcar - wanted to see what Mason's talented hands created. Love the finished look and hope the car survives the one game. Again, nicely done.
You know that you can do it! http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=35212.0
...and yes, you´re right about stock cars:

*Hell on Wheels: Season 1
Exactly!
Think of a British TV programme with a French cafe owner, his singing wife, several waitresses, etc and you'll know who I mean!
Nice to see that you are using the 'Trench Coat' Guy, too. I really love this sculpt! 8)
It's hard to tell which of them to use as 'Dirty Dirk', because both models differ much in Character.
I would say the Tough Looking Guy would make an ideal 'Barrombrawler'-Assistent, who's capable of throwing out all Roughians and Cowboys which are going to far. In that Case 'Dirty Dirk' would be the dubious looking Trench Coat Guy who don't seem to be tough enough to help himself getting out of trouble. So you would have Dirty Dirk as the Brain and his Assistant as the muscles.
Changing both Characters would end in a really hard, tough looking Dirty Dirk who knows exactly what he's doing (being able to beat his opponents up in a brawl) and of course the Trench Coat Guy who would be an ideal Spy-Assistent for some kind of dubious Boss who's affairs are way to illegal. In that Case Dirty Dirk would be the Tough one while the Assistent runs all the dirty background works (bribing, hiring Mercenaries and so on).
I think it is up to you which one to use as Dirty Dirk ;)
And thanks for the great Idea of using an capable Assistent for the Amusement. I've recognized that the traveling Cathouse I built has no 'Security Guys' right now. Maybe I find some real tough looking Brawlers, too 8)
As a not influenced guy from a land without these dirtyness I think some red lights are missing in front of the signs. And yes, the left guy looks like these dirty Dirk. Terrible guy, I think
Saw this at BLAM and would have loved to play but was hosting my own shenanigans at the same time .... One day Paul, one day ;) :D
It was riotous! The bloodthirsty players mainly seemed to be Apaches!
You know I was thinking, off all the games I played at BLAM this is the only one where I was on the winning side. As Apaches we ran rings around the Cavalry and managed to get Geronimac free and off the table with minimal casualties.
A classic game Paul, I loved it. Now I think it needs another character for the town ( have you sourced a 28mm sheep yet?) :)
I did not take any pictures at all as I forgot to bring the camera. Again.:o
:o
Unless you are able to produce some, I ban you from your own topic.
There are some photos of this most excellent game now up on my blog...
http://shedwars.blogspot.co.uk/2015/10/blam-2015.html (http://shedwars.blogspot.co.uk/2015/10/blam-2015.html)
once again this was a real highlight - especially as the English Apaches were able to give the German 7th Cavalry a good old drubbing :D
It seems, going by this picture, that the Apache had already attempted to 'interfere' with the track....
Stunning!
Perhaps one day I'll see it "live" and "live"
Cracking game yet again mate! Thanks for letting me get a shot! :)
I have no idea what you are referring to. ::) :P
Saved by Eric.
This looks awesome Mason.
That looks like a brilliant game, great to see our US Cavalry and proto-cowboy taking part at BLAM as well as all those 18th Century types :D
I thought the stealth aspect gave it a different feel to last year's game and the mobility advantage of the Apaches was a fun touch. There was a lot of 'kicking men while they were down', which meant figures were getting taken out quite rapidly at one point, though in fairness I think I started it with the guard on the shack roof :D
The town itself is brilliant and you have created the situation where people probably want Upsheet Creek every year! I'd certainly like to play again but I'm aware you may well want to try something new.
I think I have some pictures as well ill get them sorted when I get home.
As for future projects - I have 5 words.
Canoe racing down Upsheet Creek!
You could get the creek build with rapids and waterfalls. Imagine loosing your paddle in a race down Upsheet Creek :o
I'm certainly interested in playing again!me too now my character is out of chains :D
I'm certainly interested in playing again!
me too now my character is out of chains :D
The Apache brave "falls of stuff" gets on a horse and promptly falls off.

All three games were won by the Apache, with GeroniMac now well and truly Unchained!
Yiihaw! So the good guys won :D
Totally looks awesome :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o

That IS a mighty fine looking Iron Horse 8) 8) 8)
I'd just like to take this pause in proceedings to say, it turned out great. Bet you're glad Pablo I nagged you about it all last year ;) ;D lol
This is what happens when you are not constantly reminded to Mind the gap.
(http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t75/Fredejensen/3D3DBE8D-51AA-42DF-900B-DD21F772A9A3_zpskxq7rnz4.jpg) (http://s157.photobucket.com/user/Fredejensen/media/3D3DBE8D-51AA-42DF-900B-DD21F772A9A3_zpskxq7rnz4.jpg.html)
Thank you, sir.
You were most helpful with your 'encouragement'.
>:D >:D
At one point there were five Apache laying about beside the train after failing to 'mount' it.
Most amusing!
There was no one telling the indians to mind the gap. How could they not fall over and hurt themselves.
One has to be reminded to mind the gap!
We used the Creek scenery to start our Inquisimunda campaign the other day.
Not at all bad Paul, that works really well. Its nice how rustic boarder towns can span decades quite seamlessly.
That not fair, how are the Apache suppose to get on top of those with all those nasty gun turrets :'( :'( :'(
Now I am freaked out lol
I sense a "Firefly" game in the offing ???
But yes, as Colin says - that is very 'Firefly' :)
Not a fan of Firefly, I am afraid,
Cowboys and Aliens maybe ?
Me and you ain't taking anymore :-[
Been away for a month or two! Love these new additions. And your focus on this project is amazing! :-*
Pfft - I see I'm a trend setter now. lol
I looks really cool with the modern vehicles in an old western towne though! Star Gate comes to mind. ;D
Or just an episode of Star Trek. :D
Next you are going to tell us you don't like Star Wars and Dr. Who.
But I cant stand Star Trek
A fair point, pulse rifles are cool!
Hey mason, are those Escenorama containers I see in your pictures? I remember sending some money trough indiegogo and then nothing a few years ago for a set of those...
Lovely stuff Paul :-* :-*
maybe I should bring some sci-fi to my Victorian scenery. Oh hang on that's War of the Worlds! Hoorah!
Well that's a cool mash-up!
They certainly are.
I waited for two years, constantly emailing and posting comments asking where they were.
I suggest that you conatact them again and link to that 'Serious Issues' post saying that you feel the need to continue the thread as you have still not received yours.
;)
Thanks, I hate to threaten companies like this, but it seems like that is the only way to actually get the things I paid for. But such is the crowd-fund blues I guess.
Nothing "Sci-Fies" a building like an antenna cluster perched like a chimney on the roof-peak. Best part is that you can make it a simple removable piece. Another nice one is a solar array that hangs down one side of the roof - and those are dirt-simple to make!
Looks like fun.
Mason,
Real live took over so I haven't visited LAF for the better part of a year (or even more) and I just spent this evening catching up on this thread and it is STUNNING. Thanks for the inspiration now it is time for me to start again on my own town :D
Thanks Mason.
Cheers,
Za
They will obviously work in a sci-fi setting, as they are utilised in the picture above, but do you think they would 'work' in an Old West setting?
What do you reckon?
While we're speaking of lighting, does anyone know where you can find 28mm scale kerosene lanterns? I thought about mounting some on some of my scenery/buildings.
You know what you need ..... Kerosene lamps on posts ! lol
I have some among the sale goods on my Hardware Store.....
....from Tiger Miniatures.
Which I may now have to decorate the rest of the town with as there are no lamp posts.... :D
Thanks Mason... thanks to you I just bought 40 charm lamps of eBay lol There will be enough light in Hickory Flat soon lol
Of course the city will need to employ an 'old lamp-lighter' to make those evenings brighter. ;)
lol lol
Dont go blaming me for your lack of control on your wallet, mate.
;)
I don't. LAF is an unhealthy place for your wallet. All kinds of people with great projects you think "Ooooh need to do that for myself".
Search in ebay for charm lamp
http://www.ebay.it/itm/free-shipping-lot-20PCS-Antique-silver-alloy-Kerosene-lamp-charm-pendant-16mm-/361241312781?hash=item541ba8fe0d:g:YxwAAOSwNSxVA5Zb
They are perfect for 28mm
I am hoping to get back to area of the Creek next week with a new building which will be usable either as a place on the outskirts or a more solitary out of town house.
I had been awaiting delivery of some vegetables that have now arrived.
;)
I bet you´d rather be playing X-Wing instead... :D
Looking good mate :)
Looking great Paul. :-* :-*
How about taking the picture in black and white?
Nice building, .....
Thanks, chaps.
:)
I shall take some proper piccies of the church soon as I cannot seem to find any 'finished' shots on the thread.
It is.
Whoever built it made a cracking job of it.
I only 'pimped' and painted it.
;)
Just reread this thread, and holy guacamole, it's quite the project, isn't it... ::)
Im glad I've ever found this thread in the world wide ether, as it's every time you read it a joy to me!
Nice work, mate.I agree, nice work on those minis Jeff :)
You are right, those little faces are lovely
:-* :-*
.
Cheers!
:D
Nice figures!
Been away a while, just caught up bud. You have some great additions, what's next?
Mason, this is amazing! Your terrain is fantastic, it's really inspiring and made me build some sci-fi wild west colony buildings. Wonderful!
I need those women and children. Shut up and take my money! But speak first, so I know how to get them! lol
Paul - that's a shifty looking bunch 8)
Glad to see the nefarious population of Upsheet Creek is still growing :)
I am not sure who makes them, maybe Old Glory.
I do have a few left over, though, so I can send you them if I can find them in the pile....
;)
lol lol My first thought was - yes they look suitably Grumpy, then I realised it was Scrumpy Tom. oh well.
Very nice figures though :) as is the building, did you buy the shutters or make them?
Great to see the Creek in action again ;D
Brilliant to see this get a run out. Who were the dastardly outlaws taking part?
Good to see. And good to see the track on roadbed. Looks good, lots of wheeled conveyances. But needs more unarmed civilians! Refer to epic scenes at the end of Open Range if you please.
....needs more unarmed civilians....
Quite a lot of them are unarmed.
;)
But all of them very, very dangerous. :D :D
"Quite a lot of them are unarmed." Well, that's no bull. And no bull! To fight the bear! lol
Eee by eck as they say where I come from, I've missed this, one of my all time favourites. I don't suppose you fancy creating a game report - just for old times sake - not to set anything in motion you understand. ;D ;D
Thanks for posting
You know you want to really. :D :D
More seriously do you know how I can get to a specific page on your post, I seem to only be able to page forward 4 pages at a time. :'(
That is the only way to do it at the moment, I am afraid.
Sorry.
::)
You need an index ;D
I did one for my, now defunct, Mars thread and it worked a treat.
and secondly, that will use up a fair amount of the allowed content per post and negate the point by stopping the contents page being added to eventually.
;)
There is a contents page.
Page one, opening post.
;D
Not doing a direct linked thingy as, firstly, I really do not have the time for that, and secondly, that will use up a fair amount of the allowed content per post and negate the point by stopping the contents page being added to eventually.
;)
Also, if you got a smart phone you could do it anywhere ;D
Don’t let them get to you Paul. It’s ok to be a technophobe. (Snigger)
There is (was under last server) a character limit per post as I hit it once with a Sales thread (when I thought it’d be very clever to add every new sale to the front page). It must be pretty big though.
EDIT1: with the new forum software you can advance by 50+ pages at a time. Just hold your finger over a number in the ‘pages’ section at the bottom of the page and it will expand to give you a wondrous range of possibility! ;) :D
EDIT2: sorry : it’s double tap not a finger hold :D
EDIT3: finally worked out what I’m doing... it’s not a double tap. You press over the series of full stops between the numbers ;D
It’s just a little bit worrying that I couldn’t quite work out what my finger was doing .... :D
Does your wife know you've been pinching her rollers to make scenery, she'll go ballistic. :o :o
Sacrilege! :(
Lol
Hey Mason, page 200 at the doorsteps. Page 200!!! What a flow of constant creative work! :-* :-*
Sacrilege! :(
Lol
....who will hooef have as michelle fun on it as we did at several BLAMs.That sums up how much fun was had, right there..... :D :D :D
That sums up how much fun was had, right there..... :D :D :D
Doug
This thread is what caused me to order a pile of figures from foundry that i am still waiting to arrive. I hope to start scratch building structures soon using Dr death's 3d printed framework idea, and this threads photos for inspiration.
That sums up how much fun was had, right there..... :D :D :Dlol lol lol
Doug
So what are you building next?
Still, stoked to see what you tackle next fella.
Maybe the new management can finally end the bear problem in the thoroughfare. And perhaps also but a stop to some of the below the belt shenanigans going on there. Fistings and fingerings in broad daylight...
Perhaps a new settlement Downsheet Creek would be more reputable..
Bear problem? There's a wolf problem now ;)
I looked at the past photos 2 days ago and they were all fuzzy with the photobucket logo on them, today they are all crisp and clear!
Just spent a happy 4 hours going through the last 100 pages of the thread :o :o :o
Thanks for a great post.
Cheers
