Dear LPL participants,
Unfortunately I have to tell you that the Round 10 of the Season 2 will be postponed until end of Juni. Due to an unexpected business trip to Russia I won't be able to prepare and start the last round of the current season. I'm sorry.
On the other hand you'll get lots of time to get finished your bonus entry :)
So the new entry deadline and round duration:
Round 10 (Season 2 Finals) Jule 30th – July 6th.
yours
Prof.

Woo! Great news! :-)
-
Now you tell me!!!! Actually I have just finished the painting for my entry so I will use the extra time to try and get a decent photo.
Enjoy the trip, I hope its not all business and you get some pleasure time also.
-
GREAT NEWS INDEED!
At least some time to relax ... 8)

I hope it too. But I don't think so :?
The good thing is I will buy again tons of russian historical books :D
-
Damned Real Life :-[
Though speaking personally, RL may well have prevented me from completing an entry in time, so now there is a much better chance that I'll be in :)
Hope your trip goes well. Two of my bosses are in Russia at the moment. Just curious, but what is the nature of your business? Or should I not ask... ???
-
Now the only thing I need is the timely arrival of at least one armored train!
-
Just curious, but what is the nature of your business? Or should I not ask... ???
Smuggling weapon grade plutonium, of course! That's what my sources (Tom Clancy) tell me all 'business trips to Russia' are all about. ;-)

He's the evil supergenious of Pulp Adventures. What do you think? He has to sort things out with Putin and that other guy, making sure they won't meddle in his plans for world supremacy! >:D

Result! lol

No, not weapons. The Professor is no grubbing criminal or arms dealer. There is a burgeoning crisis between Russia and Georgia, and the Kodori Valley is threatened. Though small, the region contains many priceless relics, from ancient bronze vessels buried beneath dolmen to the legendary Peacock Crown of Queen Tamar, with its massive yellow-green beryl. As he goes to rescue these, he will revisit some old friends as well. Perhaps the crisis will mysteriously resolve itself, and the armies of Georgia and Russia will move back to their bases. When this happens, travelers up and down the Silk Road will tell new stories of Professor Witchheimer.

I have time to breathe again.
Prof, home you get to see the cossacks with the camels.

yes, something like this...
and a bit of mysterious occult science known under the abbreviation FE o_o

C'mon, Prof, just tell them the truth:
You met with Grimm in Hamburg for the flight over to Moscow where both of you are invited by Mr. Putin himself (who secretly is still one of the Great Game players even in miniature) to construct the world's biggest wargame table inside the Kremlin!
Of course, that's top secret, so keep on telling us some strange things about business trips ... 8)

To echo another topic, M. Putin is not someone I feel comfortable gaming with...
... but to play with the Prof :

Your attention is urgently required in Tashkent Professor Sir!

Okay, so that's either further education or fire equipment.
Let's stick to firearms export... ;)

[wiki]Fe[/wiki]? could be the Prof is engaged upon a secret Heavy Metal mission? (http://revford.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/images/smiley-pirate.png)

If it were me the abbreviation would be more like sweet FA :D

So Alex how cool would it be to paint some Back of Beyond miniatures while your in the actual Back of Beyond! lol
-
F&E would be Forschung & Entwicklung, that meaning research & development

I'm missing the Monday pics and votes; and what's worse, my model-painting productivity has gone down - aargh. I can very safely say the first 9 weeks of the League where the ones in which I completed most models - ever :)
So - how are you guys getting on? Typically, I am fiddling about with my not-an-armoured-train and failing to make any progress with my Chinese (not to mention a very stray Afghan...). Hope to make amends today.
-
I have a squad of ten finished and that was going to be that...but yesterday while garage sale shopping with the wife I came across 'The Holiday Express'. The train is basically in scale (a little small, but I'll hide that with metal plating) and came with lots of track and extra cars. I'll try to plate it up but no guarantees. I agree that my motivation has also gone down...have to see what I can get done by the deadline.
-
Arrrgh! While searching in one of my various bits boxes for a gattling gun for my newly aquired train I came across an old o.o.p. Deadlands steam tank that looks quite 1918. I may use this instead...or I may use neither...have to wait and see. :)
-
So - how are you guys getting on?
Varnished Friday, "Grassed up" on Saturday, Photographed today :)
I'll resize the photos this week sometime and send to the Prof. Without the extension I would never have made the last round.

Me too - and I'm still not done, so I'd better get a move on.
-
Finished! What a relief! Been a while since I've painted a squad and vehicle...time to get that photo snapped and take a break.
-
One week to go.....
the down side - my troops are STILL not painted. :(
The up side - well, I had fun designing and building what's going to be accompanying them. Because of the extended deadline I spent loads of time fiddling away trying out stuff. I should be done now, but no bets about that. That's me, messing around with weird vehicles and leaving the poor old troops undone - and even before I managed o conclude this post, I just remembered I've forgotten something......gah >:(
-
Troops are nearly done, but the most time consuming part so farr has been building the armored train. Drilling, pinning, green-stuffing gaps and most of all getting the locomotives axles right cost me most of today. Tomorrow I'll prime it and then colour.

Heh - maybe we should present a joint entry Poliorketes - we seem to have started from opposite ends.
-
About thirty troops plus officers ready and one vehicle. I'd like to cram a few more in there
-
I'll have to forfeit round 10 :(
Khaki combined with EFC has given me a slight fit of painter's block, and I'm not going to get a team ready.... I may send in a previous contestant, just to try scooping up a few vote points...
-
Assuming round 10 is still commencing on Monday should I be worried that I have had no "Received OK" message when I sent my entry in?
-
I guess not as the Prof is still very busy. can't tell about the exact deadline, though. I guess it's kind of in dubio pro reo
