Hi guys!
i finally finished my 4pt orcish warband for SAGA.
The warband includes 2 units of warriors, 1 hearthguard unit and 1 mounted hearthguard unit, who are led by a unnamed orc captain.
After a long time playing LOTR on the GW rules, i am really happy about getting some variety through the unoffical Middleearth battleboards for SAGA.
Cheers!

Gorgeous. Absolutely gorgeous. They really make me want to pick up LotR again.
-
These look really good.
Well, I used Rohirrim as Dark Ages troops, they look good as they are, I nearly bought some Saxons and then realised I already had a painted force I could use.
I haven't seen the Battle boards for LOTR, do you have a link?
-
Fantastic. Some really nice conversion work going on with those orcs. Especially like the warg riders.

Wehooo!!!!
Amazing!

You might have them in your inbox by now ... lol
HvM,
Love the orcs and the wargs; very inspirational. Great photos, too.

Thanks, Harvey, I'll take a look. I like it when you can play a new game with figures that you already have PAINTED and BASED! Like, how often does that happen? :D
-
really beautifull miniatures ! :o
-
Fantastic :-* :-*
Backdrop, groundwork, figures, all a joy to behold :)
cheers
James
-
Really nice, good idea!
-
Magnificent work. Best thing I have seen on LAF in ages :-*
-
Excellent work, great looking force.
-
Where do I get those LotR battle boards boards, please?
I just purchased a full set of SAGA rulesets at Horisont V, and ordered 5 sets of dice yesterday, thinking that I could just use some of the existing factions as the base for various LotR warbands, but if exact battle boards exist already, I think I should have a go at those!
-

More and more often, if you ask me lol
I almost entirely paint minis that I can use for several purposes these days.
-
Those are among the FINEST LoTR Orcs I yet seen. The brushwork is SPLENDID & the bases make each group a BEAUTIFULLY crafted vignette. VERY WELL DONE!
-
can i also get a copy of the battleboards or a link cheers

me too.........

Good lord! They are top pjs.
So... What's all the big deal about SAGA?

Me three! :D

Good lord! They are top pjs.
So... What's all the big deal about SAGA?
Saga is a fun system. The order dice mechanics are a way of moderating the turn sequence and reflecting the unique flavour of each band.
-
Is it for playing stand alone games or is there provision for the development of a warband in a campaign setting?
-
Good lord! They are top pjs.
So... What's all the big deal about SAGA?
Sounds like a Secret Society...would explain why they just don't post a link.
-
Stunning painting!
-
Gorgeous stuff.
If you don't mind me asking, where'd you get those little fern sprigs?
-
Lovely paintwork. :)
-
Really lovely stuff
-
Fantastic looking warband. I am planning a similar one but it won't look nearly as good.
Where can I find the LOTR battle boards?

Haha! I assumed a venerable greybeard such as yourself was already a SAGA member.
No offence intended Alan. ( also hoping that reference is not too British centric.
On topic.

I agree.
Are you sure you're not Frank in disguise? ;)
(That's supposed to be a compliment :))

You've never said anything offense...at least to moi. I had/have no idea what SAGA means. Wikipedia says its some form of role playing involving Fate Cards...whatever that means.
-
So can we get a weblink or not for the boards bud? ;)

Great stuff HvM!
Wonderful paintwork and piccies!!
:-* :-*
I am doing something similar myself (when I stop being distracted by Old West town building, that is... ::)) but with different figures.
As for all you fellas screaming for LotR SAGA Battleboards, I think that this quote from Frank is what you are all looking for:
Thanks you! :D

Thanks for the info Sir B. & Mason.
-
Just fabulous!
:-*
-
Very nice... but for a bit of button-counting, I'm pretty sure, 'olog' means 'troll' lol
EDIT:
Any plans for Southrons and Easterlings? Would love to field a Mûmak ;D
-
Love Them! :-* Beautiful force and awesome photo display. Only problem is if playing a game against them I'd now insist on resting my chinm on the table and making you hold up the background behind your minis at all times ;D
going to have to look into the LotR saga battleboards now
-
Beautiful work! Are they based in the thin bases like your dwarfs?
-
Wow, this is so good!
I'm sure you are inspiring a lot of incipient LOTR SAGA projects around here with your beautiful brushwork. Me included. Just lovely!
-
That is just awesome! :-*
Love your painting style and the choice of miniatures. Full of character.
Great pictures as well.
Cheers

Lovely looking stuff. And I am inspired to give this a go!
-
very nice indeed
-
:-* I think you just pushed me over the edge to try Saga.
-
This is, indeed, fantastic stuff......

A pleasure and a delight to view such impressive works of art.
-
Perfect - both, painting and presentation.
Thank you so much for sharing thisbeautiful pictures with us.

... yes yes yes ... but, the ferns?
-
Having missed the previous go around, thanks both to HvM and Mason for bringing to my attention and providing the post with links. I've already PM'd Frank with my praise.
Seems a bit counter-intuitive, as the dice/orders mechanics can seem fiddly, but I really think SAGA works surprisingly well with beginners. I'm not good with 'hardcore' rules, and most GW detailed play and special abilities leave me snoring. However, after first being daunted by the choices dice placing gives you, I found myself able to make choices, even if not the best. ;)
Bottom line: I had fun.
Will definitely try these down at the store!
Doug
-
IM very impressed with the photography set-up. Can you show a photo of the board?
-
yes would be nice to have a picture of the board
-
... so, the ferns?
Perhaps I should give it up.
-

I think HvM is only a light user of LAF, not a full-on addict - he only pops by occasionally ;)
I'm interested to know about the ferns too.
-
They look like the brass "etched" ferns that Scalelink used do;

Well, as he is from Germany, it might be this lasercut fern stuff from german railroad company Busch; here is a set on german Ebay:

Lovely, thanks.

Four of the new Mirkwood Palaceguards of the december release!
I am really looking forward to see the 2nd Hobbit movie next week! :D
(http://s14.directupload.net/images/131208/2oriciad.jpg)
-
That is nice, love the atmospheric photo.
-
Gorgeous! It could almost be a still from the movie.
-
Amazing work. The webs in the trees are an excellent touch.
-
Excellently painted models in a gorgeous surrounding. Absolutely great.
-
Brilliant work!
I was fairly happy and content with my painting,my terrain and even my photos were getting better but your work has just spoiled my day! ;)
I must try harder.
-
Crikey! You painted those rather quickly!!! :o
They are lovely models...I really want to do a 6pt Saga warband with the new Mirkwood Elves but have so much more to paint I can't justify the cost at the moment... Painting like yours is not making my resolve an easier to keep!
Very VERY well done - and I LOVE the scenic photo...really, really good!!! :-*
Now see if you can do some of the new rangers and see my resolve crumble entirely ;)
-
Next step in your photos is to add smoke.
Seriously, "just" add smoke in the background to simulate the atmospheric depth.
-
What a great project! I'm thinking of making boards for my Otherworld Minis. Maybe make one for 'Adventurers' and another few for different bands of monsters....
-
Great project!
-
The Pointy Eared Ones look WONDERFUL & the background is FANTASTIC...that really is a splendid presentation. VERY WELL DONE!
-
ooo now those are great!! :o :o
-
Gorgeous scenery and PJ but the minis themselves look like Easterlings as they are designed by Weta. Odd...
-
Great set up again :-*
The figures themselves look a bit odd (not really having seen anything of the new film yet) but that doesn't detract from the cracking paintwork 8)
cheers
James
-
Love the setting and especially the atmosphere that you've created, awesome! The paintjob is great, well done!
I also downloaded all of the battleboards. I've been meaning to suggest Saga to my regular gaming group, but most of the guys aren't into anything historical. These might just work, especially since most of them will be useable for general f antasy as well. Many thanks for making them and putting them online! 8)
-
stunning
-
Full of win!!
-
Wow! Really well done photo! Great job on the minis too (excellent colour scheme)!
-
Out of this middle world, stunning. THE CID.
-
Beautiful stuff. I wish my gaming group would have some interest in LotR.
HvM, What parts did you use for the orcs on the fell wargs? It looks to be a mix of the Fell Wargs kit and modor orcs or LotR warg riders.
thanks

Thank you guys!
Update 14.12.13 - Beorn
(http://s7.directupload.net/images/131214/vrkqlydr.jpg)
-
Brilliant painting. :)
BUt my initial reaction was more like 'No! Say no to ugly!'
I must say that I find the Mithrill Miniatures Beorn both the right size and proper look. I think this Beorn figure will be one to split the opinions.
But let's not go down that path in this otherwise splendid thread. lol
-
Lovely stuff!
-
Wow, you've really put some lipstick on that pig! And by that I mean you've taken a figure that seems to be garnering a lot of dislike, and made it look fantastic! So many times, GW has mediocre paintjobs and when someone like you gets it, and does that type of great work with it, makes a mini come to life! Well done!
-
Gorgeous! It could almost be a still from the movie.
It could if the guards were in the movies for more than half a second ;D
-
A SPLENDID paint job & an EVOCATIVE setting...VERY WELL DONE!
The mini could double for Wolverine.
-
Lovely work! :-*
-
I won't comment the mini (as I don't like the concept and the sculpt).
I'd like to talk about photographic technique.
You may want to put your camera further away and go with the full zoom. And more depth of field to "cancel" this aspect of minis.
Is this real smoke or photoshop ?
(To be clear, I adore your work, and try to find a way to reach the excellence it deserves)
-
Is there a link to the battle boards for the LOTR SAGA anywhere??

I posted a link to Frank's LotR Battleboards on page three of this thread.

Very nice indeed. Inspired to follow in your tracks.

Awesome photos. I still want to see photos of your studio set up though. THe scenic boards, lights etc!

Congrats for all these awesome paint jobs!
Cheers,

The BEAUTIFULLY painted minis have received a suitably cinematic presentation. The Mirkwood is, in particular, an inspiring sight. VERY WELL DONE!

Stunning !!! :)
-
:o :o :-* :-* WOW! Absolutely amazing. I never thought I'd say this about elves, but they are really quite excellent. Great photography too, very atmospheric.

Incredibly inspiring work and amazing presentation!

Just stunning work!

-
The painting, the photograph and the posing to the scene are all amazing. I am very impressed.

Remind us why you aren't head of gw photography? You're doing a better job than they have in years, these are art! :)

Still can't stand that dragon model, but your photography makes it look the best it's ever been!

I'd buy a book of this stuff if I could... lol

Wowsers! Even better now!
-
Great work again with your photos, painting and framing. I'm looking forward to what you do next.
-
Wow, this is just many kinds of awesome!
Thank you for inspiring me to get my photography to a higher level too. The scenic presentation is just wonderful.
What set-up do you use?
-
Just jaw dropping :o

Astounding work, both the painting and photography are seriously jaw dropping :-*

Just when I thought your painting and photos couldn't get any better....WOW!!!!
Thanks for sharing both with the rest of us humble humans...

Great style of presentation!
Not to mention the overall quality of your painting. These pictures cost me hours of my life staring :o

Inspired!!!!!

Thank you guys!
I'd buy a book of this stuff if I could... lol
Yeah i am really thinking about designing a book of my miniature-pictures. But i think the effort and the costs are too much for just a couple of books.
Daniel
-
It would be worth doing just for yourself to have a copy of it I think. The effort you must go through already to make the pictures must be pretty big.
-
Thank you guys!

There will always be effort involved to create a good book, but with print-on-demand services the cost is born directly by the purchaser so you wouldn't be out of pocket and those that want one can get a lovely book ...

Maybe not.
Lots of artists simply use the photo-book system software from Aldi,Lidl,Rossman etc.
It is a cheap way of producing books in small numbers
-
Would also be interested in such a book as I like lotr (wargame we play the most), but in the end it really depends on the price. ;)
-
Absolutely beautiful work in this thread. I have been trying to think of something unique to say, but can only think to echo others.
-
Thank you!
Update 30th Jan:
Finally i have decided to buy one blister of the new Laketown guards. The sculpts ain't so good this time but with a good paintjob the miniatures look great i think. I also bought the new perry medieval civilians and use them as people of laketown. The buildings / frontages are just decorative pieces, so no whole houses :(

I agree, the minis themselves are kinda stinky, but you def hit them with a smashing paint job so they look just fantastic! Bravo Mate!
I really love your project!
-
Excellent as always :-* :-*
Not keen on the design of the Lake Town guard to be honest but you've done a great job on them 8)
cheers
James
-
Great painting and a great setting!
Not sure what you are better at: Brushwork or photo composition as you obiously good at both.
:-* :-*
Not keen on the Lake Town fella's either.
I never considered Lake Town that way....never really thought about that much, but certainly not like that.
I think a few of Perry Civvies are good for my own use later, though, so thanks for putting them in mind.
-
Lovely photo an PJ but I agree with the above: they way Laketown is described I have something Norse rather than Rus in mind.
-
The WONDERFUL paint jobs & the SPECTACULAR background more than make up for any deficiencies the minis may have. CINEMATICALLY WELL DONE!
-
Oh dear, amazing set-up :-*
-
Great painting and spectacular photography. :-* :-* :-*
-
I insist on a book filled with this gaming awesomeness...(reminds me of being a kid)

That lighting!

Ooooh, love your work on these photos and minis! The orcs are my favorite so far. ;)

Wow, this certainly is one of the best threads in the Fantasy Adventures forum. The level of the painting, photography, setup etc is second to none! And together with all these other SAGA/LoTR threads it has inspired me to dig out some 'Uruk-Hai I purchased several years ago but never got around to painting. And flat bases, they look soo much better than those slottas.
Just one question, where do you get your backdrops? Are they from posters, calendars or something?
-
Thank you very much gents!
I really appreciate that

Most of the backdrops are just printed pictures from the internet.

Wonderful painting and photography.
:-* 8) :-*
I love the smoke/mist effect.
How was that achieved?
Please dont tell me that it was a mistake and you just happened to set light to your shirt before taking the picture.......
;)
-
Once more the Orcs & Elves are BEAUTIFULLY painted & the photos are WONDERFULLY cinematic. INSPIRING WORK!
-
Truely beautiful painting and fantastic enviroments :o
-
Thank you guys! :)
I love the smoke/mist effect.
How was that achieved?
I did the smoke effect with a electronic hookah cigarette i bought for a few bucks. It works pretty well but i think there are many more healthier ways to do it :D
-
Great colour tones on the elves, and very inspirational photography
-
Your painting is superb. So much so that I'm at a loss for words!
:o :o :o :o :o :o :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
So are these only for display or will we see a batrep at some point?
;)
-
Great painting and more than great picture. very atmospheric.
-
Drooling... Gosh, you are good at this. Both the painting and the composition are outstanding.
I have a question about the Background you are using. Where did you get it and how large are those pics? Because they certainly add a lot of flavor to your pics (not that they needed it - the models are great on their own).
-
Uh oh... the photos aren't displaying for me anymore. Anyone else having that problem?
(I know they were working earlier - I saw them)
-
Nope, good for me.

Same here. Going cold turkey. :'(
2hours later: They are back! Want more now! Quickly while it lasts!

Yep, working again now. Well that was odd.

Beautiful and inspiring!
Thanks

-
These pictures and models are fantastic. :-*
Please can you explain how you do your photographs?
Where do you get the backgrounds?
What exposure time do you use?
What lighting do you have?
Thanks
Mick
-
sauron appearing behind those eldar would look amazing u know. Excellent paintwork ad ever.
-
Fantastic paint jobs and wonderful photo's.

Thank you guys!

I'm just using some landscape picture i found on google and print them on usual Din A4 sheets.
What exposure time do you use?
What lighting do you have?
Usually I set the aperture on f2.0 tip 8.0. That works pretty well for more atmospheric picture settings. For the lighting i use two lamps with Daylight bulbs.

The more people will pledge, the more photos and stuff you'll put inside!
-
Once more your FANTASTIC PHOTOS present the minis in a WONDERFULLY DRAMATIC fashion. GREAT WORK!
-
just one word : STUNNING :-* :-*
-
Jaw dropping :-*
-
Your palette and execution are exemplary. Utterly gorgeous.
-
Thank you guys! :D

I'm really getting used to that idea. Or what do you think about a calendar for 2015? Of course that would be less work than layouting a book.
The thing is i don't guess that many people still using analog calendars in the era of smartphones and computers.
Cheers,
Daniel

I'd buy a calendar :D

You don't have to layout a huge book! but, well,... a calendar doesn't sound so appealing for me :D
-
Well there are eighteen photos on this thread so far, so you've already passed the needed list for a calendar. Personally I'd be happier with a small booklet with maybe twenty to thirty some photos. I'd love to see more, but I'm not greedy. I don't think you'd need much fluff, unless you really wanted to get some writing done.

IMHO, the best thing should be a "Digital photography for miniatures", with some of your masterpieces and with some tutorials, with the setups and the technique you used. This way you don't have to fill the whole booklet with only photos... that might be the most interesting product, IMHO. :)
-
I continue to think you should have more depth of field with something like f8.0 at least.
A real photo with tele-objective doesn't have this amount of blur between the foreground and background.

To get more depth of field I'm guessing he'd have to change the lighting, and that's one of the best selling points. Besides, these are obviously painted miniatures, well painted to be sure, but none the less painted miniatures. Why not enjoy them for the small subjects they are, rather then creating an illusion of reality.
-
Nope, it would require a longer exposition time.
With less blur, we could admire more the minis... ;)
-
Thanks again buddys!

Yes I already tried that! But what can i say, i just like this amount of blur :D I think it gives a great balance between the realistic created landscape and miniature-photography-effects.
In the meantime i built a small hobbit hole for my Shire project with my Jomada-team-blogger Marc. Hope you guys like it. As a little extra, i put some flickering LEDs on the inside for eventually upcoming nightshots

Phewwhat! That is SOOOOOOO cool.

There's an Oooooo, here's an Ahhhhhh.
What did you use for the window glass?
-
Gorgeous.

That is a LOVELY creation; WONDERFULLY crafted & BEAUTIFULLY painted. The photo with the interior lights illuminating the scene actually conveys a cozy feel to the piece. FANTASTICALLY WELL DONE!

I would be interested on that. Even as a PDF.

Top job :-* :-*

This thread continues to impress.

Lovely piece of terrain that! :)

Thank you guys!!

What did you use for the window glass?
I found this blanked out thin metal sheet for those window bars, than i just covered with some model water and let it dry. Done!
UPDATE: In the meantime i painted Farmer Maggot and his three dogs Grif, Fang and Wolf as an addition for my other Shire miniatures. Hope you like em! :)
Cheers,
Daniel

-
impressive indeed!
-
I always completely fall off my chair watching your photos!
-
Lovely work. Well done sir.
-
While the miniatures are BEAUTIFULLY painted, & the scenery is WONDROUSLY crafted, the FANTASTIC photography raises them to PURE ARTISTRY. INSPIRING WORK!
I always completely fall off my chair watching your photos!
...viewing your pieces is best done on a low chair.
-
Wow only just found this thread. Some absolutely stunning work here. :-* I love the Hobbit Hole. It's beautifully done.
-
Really stunning work!
I picked up Farmer Maggot and his dogs at the last FLGS auction I attended and despite my meager painting skills, you've inspired me to paint him up!
-
As previously said that middle dog is a bit special. That also looks a very impressive field of corn in the background.
-
WOW!! awesome works!! :-* :-* :-*
-
Beautiful. Just beautiful.
-
Brilliant!
-
Thank you guys!
So here comes the next update on my Shire project. I painted some models on the weekend and combined them with the hobbit hole I built a couple of weeks ago. Tried to create a dusk light mood on the picture. Hope you guys like them! :)
Cheers,
Daniel

Just lovely!

This is in my Top 5 Favorite LAF projects! Your pictures are only rivaled by the minis and terrain themselves. Just beautiful all the way around!

That is a BEAUTIFULLY staged scene...GREAT WORK!
-
Really lovely scene you have created. I'm in awe.
-
Always look forward to another piece of your work and when it is shown it never disappoints. Very nice.
-
Pics like that remind me why I always wanted to live in a Hobbit hole.
That's not weird, is it?
-
:-*
Keeps getting better and better.
You, Frank, and a couple of others are really pushing the boundries with top fotos of well painted figures. It really inspires me to keep on trying harder.
-
This thread is almost annoying. Not only do I have to improve my painting, but I also have to improve my photography skills, and composition. Please keep making me feel incompetent. I get more done when I'm frustrated. :D
-
Sorry i forgot to thank you for all the compliments!
Was quite busy the last two weeks but i will work on some more middle earth miniatures in the next days.
So hope it won't take long till i can show you some new pictures!
Cheers,
Daniel

Gorgeous work! If I may ask where are the little fern-like tufts from?

Excellent paint job and superb background :-*
-
I do LOVE these theatrical pieces...BRILLIANT brushwork & staging. BRAVO! ENCORE!
-
Awesome as always!
What's the quality of recent resin releases? They look to paint up beautifully from your photos but I'm a bit wary after some early finecast mishaps.
-
Awesome paintjob and photography as always :-*. Very atmospheric.
-
Brilliant painting, terrain and photography :-*

The quality of the warriors of dale was pretty good. Quite contrary to the elves :(
UPDATE:
Today I have a new photograph for you, a mini project that was really cool: the charge of thorins company in the battle of the five armies. I know the third Hobbit movie was full of mistakes, but that scene was one of my personal highlights of it. It guaranteed this typical epic middle earth feeling to me. The miniatures are great sculpts and I really enjoyed painting them!
Cheers,
Daniel

Very nice setup, the photo as always is great!
Unfortunately the third film is so bad... i watched it yesterday, and it's... embarrassing. :S
-
Awesome picture :o
Those miniatures actually look great, I'm tempted to get some now..
-
:-* :-* :-* very nice indeed
-
The miniatures are BEAUTIFUL creations & the cinematic setting is WONDROUS to behold. VERY WELL DONE once more!
-
That's fantastic! Great paint jobs and a really atmospheric photograph. :-* Nice ground work too by the way.
-
Speechless! Awesome photography and painting. A feast for the eyes!
-
I'd never come across your thread before ... but I spent the last half an hour stuck here. Your photographs are incredibly beautiful.
-
As always, the painting is really good, but you teally know how to take beautiful and atmospheric pics... :-*
This thread is always a joy to open...

That!
Will be following this in future, not a fan of LotR gaming, but incredibly inspired by your photographs. Absolutely beautiful.
-
Seriously beautiful photographs of some seriously beautiful painting. :-*
-
Many thanks!
Very nice setup, the photo as always is great!
Unfortunately the third film is so bad... i watched it yesterday, and it's... embarrassing. :S
Last weekend I had a cool talk at the bar with William Kircher (Bifur the dwarf) and John Callen (Oin the dwarf) at the Hobbit Con in Bonn, Germany. They told me that they shot so many cool scenes that didn't make it into the cinema version of the movie. So lets hope for a better extended version :)
-
:-* :-* :-* :-*
Stunning photography and painting. Too lovely for words.
-
More please! Let not this thread fade away...
-
Taking painting and photography to a whole new level, on a par with Mr. Dallimore! Magic stuff!

From what i gathered, HvM is now abroad for some time for studying purposes, and he couldn't bring with him the hobby-related gears. That sounds quite like a great loss for all of us, but it happened already. :(
Hopefully he'll be back soon-ish, and with abstinence munchies that will make him recover all the lost time!
-
Just beautiful work, all the way around!
-
It’s been now 1 1/2 years ago since my last picture in this thread. Because of GWs missing support and releases, the active middle earth community became smaller and smaller. But after Forgeworld released now the long-overdue Iron Hill dwarves, I felt like it would be time for a come back to middle earth!
I managed to get Dain Ironfoot and 12 of his warriors yesterday. I painted Dain himself last night so I was able to take a cinematic shot this morning that shows his arrival at the battle of the five armies.
I hope you like the dwarf!
Cheers,
Daniel

Lovely paint job and photo skills :D
-
Nice - it is so good to see new Hobbit minis out. Hopefully this will have a positive effect on the longevity of the LotR:SBG.
-
Welcome back HvM! :)
-
love it :-*
-
Very nice indeed. Can we see the Iron Hill dwarfs please? ;D
-

Oh my, I've heard what those are sold for - good that you're able to give the minis such a nice pj. I have no idea, though, how you manage to paint to that standard so fast. Would have taken me at least a week 's dedicated work to get anywhere near that result... :?
-
Lovely painting and photography on a mini, that I would never put into a Tolkien connection. I felt very bad when the movie turned out to stray too much into GW-spheres.
I like Middle earth dwarves infantry only style. They are never shown as cavalry in Tolkiens books as far a I know.
But your generic fantasy dwarf cavalry figure turned out very well :D
Cheers

I think all the superlatives have been said, but I'll throw my cracking job Daniel in the mix ;)
Question on the scenic base(s) - what are the dimensions you use? I have a square photobox that is approx. 50cmsq but I assume you don't have 50cmsq scenic bases made up?!
Cheers
Gary

The miniatures are BEAUTIFULLY painted creations AND the photo is WONDERFULLY staged. VERY WELL DONE all around!

That always depends on the specific scene I want to create.

Great work, very dynamic and cinematic.

More fantastic work. Hopefully they release more units for you to paint. :D

These are beautiful! Like many of others perusing this thread you make me want to revisit my LoTR models.

just gorgeous :-* :-*

Hey everyone!
Today it’s the 15th anniversary of the movie release of the first LOTR movie (10th Dec 2001). So here goes my most recent cinematic photograph to honor this day:

Excellent :-*

15 years?! Thats madness...
Lovely pic as always, they all have a very steely "let's get this job done" look in their eyes.

15 years?! Thats madness...
I feel old now.
Amazing models, as always :)
-
Fantastic painting on those Fellowship minis. :-*
-
Lovely, lovely, lovely...

Wonderful!
Especially the 'blacks' on Boromir.

I missed the shieldwall picture, which is also sublime.
:-*

Beautiful! And 15 years ago.... Damn
-
Outstanding work, thanks to this I have been digging my unpainted lotr stuff out
-
Very nice work!
-
Very beautiful! The painting and the photography.
Fifteen years...time flies. Those movies are responsible for my entry into this hobby...I loved the Rohirrim and bought the GW starter set in 2002 :)
-
Another fantastic photo Daniel. Keep on posting.
Cheers
Robert
-
Now I really feel old! I still think of the films-based minis as the "new" range of Lord of the Rings.
-
Great photo and very well dome pj. I wait for other pics of your work!
-
Thanks again for all the kind words!
I finally managed to take a picture of the new ogres, the dwarven commando and Dain in The Battle Of The Five Armies.
Hope you like it :)
