Nice painting!

Very nice Richard, not sure but anthropormophic warriors were often Tlaxcalans who were enemies of the Aztecs, he looks lovely and the shield desing is cracking 8)
-
Wicked cool brushwork. :)

Piggy's revenge from Lord of the Flies????
-
At the risk of being chastised, I must say that it is highly doubtful that any native warrior would be wearing a boars head helmet. Pigs are not indigenous to the New World and were introduced by Pizarro and de Soto well after the fall of Tenochtitlan.
Nice painting though.

It seems that The Assault Group is guilty of this too. I thought I had a boar headed Tlaxcaltec Zoomorphic warrior in my collection. lol

Fantastic painting and a fantastic figure - as one would expect from Gringos.
Wasn't impressed by Cecil Gaybody's reference to Gruffalo - rather uncalled for I thought, given the excellent quality of the painting and the figure itself. Rather insulting really. i thought the idea of the site was to support each other and give constructive observations.
Brilliant painting and another great figure range Ged.
Best Wishes DaveL

Thanks Dave :)
Cecil Gaybody likes to joke. He's assured me nothing personal is meant by such remarks. I take it in good part.
Mostly >:D

After a visit to Wikipedia, now I know what a Gruffalo is. :)
Fantastic painting work, really nice. And the miniature is also really good. I´m really interested in this period, and I am only waiting for more Conquistadores.
Figures so beautifully painted as this one make me to begin the planning... :)

As someone mentioned earlier that it is highly unlikely that a native warrior would be wearing a boars head helmet. He is correct. This helmet represents a peccary or more commonly a javelina. Javelina are native to Central Mexico and range from Northern Mexico and South Texas thoughout most of South America.
This is a nice figure and very well painted.
