Well my site isn't up yet but What The?! Miniatures as of right now we have 2 minis in 34mm of a Luftfaust B grenadier and grenadier NCO with a C96.  I am going to be doing several rare WWII weapons by the end of the year.  Probably a couple USMC Marines armed with the Stinger hybrid mg, Germans with HEAT grenades and other rare and weird real weapons of WWII.  I'm a one man show so it is slow going but keep a look out for me.  You can buy the minis from my Battleground Weird War II forum (http://battlegroundweirdwarii.com/forum/index.php?topic=207.0) for now.  Official site will be up in July.

I like Mr Sims' WW2 figures but ,along with another noted company, I wish they would address the fixed MG gunners poses. They never look quite convincing.

The rest are lovely  :)

Those look... not right in some way I can't define. I think it's the heads (?). Ansell can do better.

Could it be the torso. They look slightly not the right shape, if that makes sense? :?

Thanks guys for your thoughts and comments.

Now I might be way off the mark here, but you don't have to be a rocket scientist to see that there is something strange in some of the figures!

Its just not some of the figures shown here. Anatomically speaking, and from my collection of the BAM Finns and Soviets designed by Richard (which are nice) is the size of the head to body or viz a viz on some of the figures. Poses too on some of the figures leaves a question mark! Whilst I might be disappointed in some of the figures I'd still buy them because of the scarcity of the figures for the period in question that I wish to collect.

I hope Richard understands that this is an observations only!  8)

The one that stands out as odd to me is the NCO at the bottom right... his torso just looks too wide in the hips or something... though the figure might look fine in person (metal).

I think what you guys is seeing is either an optical illusion or maybe a result of overcropping in Photoshop by my photographer. The thing is these are done on the same dollies that the other GJ were done on.

This is a question for you Helen.

You seem to know about the release of several manufacturers and even on what they are currently working  on. Do you have little elf spies all over the world?  ;)
Anyhow, I would like to know if you are aware of any company that may do 28mm WWII British in winter parka (white camo smock) or in greatcoat?

Cheers! :)

Post by: Helen on July 19, 2008, 10:27:01 PM
Hi Guys,

Lon has placed up on his site a photo of the new Ends of the Earth AfrikaKorps III. In addition Lon had mentioned in his message that certain U-Boat crews will be available plus a display of the U-Boat. Here is a short gist of his message.

U-Boat Crew

EEP006 WW2 UBoat Crew I (recently released)

EEP007 WW2 UBoat Crew II (recently released)

EEP008 WW2 UBoat Raft Crew with Paddles (2)

"We will be taking preorders for the following which will be released 3-4 weeks after the
convention. Despite our best efforts from all involved we just could not make the timeline.
We will have these on display at our booth so you can see what you will be ordering:

WW2 German U-Boat (36" long, 3 sections plus conning tower)
Raft for German Uboat
8.8 cm gun for Uboat
3.7 cm gun for Uboat
2 cm gun for Uboat
2 cm dual gun for Uboat
2 cm quad gun for Uboat."

Afrikakorps
They look really tops and great for the Not so Indiana Movies!  8)

Little known fact that Helen is  in fact the heiress to the Green Stuff estate. A condition of sale to professional sculptors is that they inform her of their intended use.

Eureka have been working on their next Pulp WW2 set, this time a few Germans.

There are 2 preview figs called Sgt Steiner (and companion assumedly) The seperate LMG doesn't appear to fit in the sargeant's hand so I assume it's for a later figure.

Eye height is 27mm
Steiner's jacket appears to hang a bid oddly at the waist, but otherwise I don't see too much wrong with them.
