To start with, the setting is the Old West, not the 1930s -- but the western story was a pulp mainstay, wasn't it?
I'm not sure if my setup is too crowded or not . . . I'll await the comments of those with more experience. The board is larger than called for by the "Pulp Alley" rules at 4' x 4'; but I'll allow the players to start up to 12" from their corners so it should even out.
It is intended to be a 3-person game; and many more photos are available on my blog:

Here's a look at the main plot point:

Looks great. Keep up the good work. Love the holtz buildings, I have some too.

Looks really good. I think you're going to have a fun game there.

Looks good, not too crowded at all. The more cover the better, it makes for more mobile and interesting games.
Which reminds me, I really do have to start on some fences, walls and other urban clutter to fill the gaps between my buildings. I like the scattering of outhouses and sheds you've got going on.

Love it! Now you just need some tumbleweeds blowing through the streets... lol

Definitely not too cluttered. When we do a WW board there's usually crates and grain sacks piled up. Adding bits like that means more cover and has a nice aesthetic.

Excellent :)
Terrain is never too crowded for a good skirmish game (whatever the ruleset); especially in modern times with modern firearms.

I'd say it looks perfect. We try to get enough terrain on the table to make things interesting, but not so much that it becomes uncomfortable to move figures around.
FYI -- the first time we sat down with some friends to show them the Pulp Alley rules (many years ago) we used those same buildings and cowboy figures -- just because thats what they had available. For me, Pulp Alley will always be a "wild west" game. ;)
HAVE FUN

My gaming buddy's business trip got extended (and he's busy next weekend) so it now looks like we won't get to play until the 18th or 19th . . . *sigh*

Bluebear,
I play my games solo as I don't know anyone near me who plays Pulp (or anything else for that matter). I found that the Pulp Alley rules are superb for solo play as you don't have to keep referring to the book. I just keep a notepad nearby to record who has initiative etc. as if you forget anything (common at my age!) you don't have anyone else to ask!

I really like your terrain setup. It might be cool to just find some loose string laying around and make a noose for the platform. :D I hope everyone has fun!
