Title: Buildings
Post by: fastolfrus on June 15, 2008, 01:37:18 PM
This should probably be in a Victorian section but...

Does anyone know where I might find reasonably clear pictures of Chinese railway station buildings (especially Tientsin) or the Hanlin Library building C1900 ?

I found a couple of possibles for the railway station itself and another generic building from the city. The Library of Congress has a few more stereocards from the boxer period, which I accessed through the worldcat site (www.worldcat.org). This is the exact link http://www.worldcat.org/wcpa/oclc/51143534?page=frame&url=http%3A%2F%2Fhdl.loc.gov%2Floc.pnp%2Fcph.3c02898&title=&linktype=digitalObject&detail=

This may be good place to start if nothing else

My Uncle was born in Tientsin in 1910. I have a photo album somewhere of it between 1911 and 1916. I have a look.
