I'm running a Dark Ages game of Saxons vs. Vikings using the Broadsword Adventures rules at Historicon. I have decided to include the remains of a Roman wall (or nearly Roman as I am sure it is not completely accurate).
Here is the table set up with the wall still in progress. The Saxon village has sprung up around the ruins and probably incorporated some of the stone from the walls into the construction.

Love it! :-*
Are the trees "homegrown" or bought?

Trees are a combination if model railroad trees and Christmas Village birch trees. I spray paint some steel wool, wrap it around the trees, then add a healthy dose of spray glue and drop flock and bits of course turf onto it. Best and most wargames-durable method I have found for trees.

Lovely setting again. :-* Looking forward to the finished Roman gate - good idea, by the way.

Inspiring work.
On first sight I said, 'aquaduct'. Then I saw it was a gate.
Heh, from foederates to top rung.
Like your table also.
