Title: Gebirgsjäger Queries
Post by: Wilkins on February 04, 2014, 04:51:41 PM
Just wondering if anyone had any decent pictures of Black Tree's Gebirgsjäger? I know they have photos on their website but they aren't amazing quality and the painting isn't brilliant, thought you chaps might be able to advise me better. Alternatively I am also open to other sources of these miniatures. The Gorgon ones look lovely but no European supplier  :-I

Brigade Games - an excellent range.
Fast shipping and very reasonable postage direct from the US of A.

I have both BTD and Gorgon, no pictures I'm afraid.
The BTD ones are typical BT quality maybe even a little cleaner sculpt than some of their other Germans, poses are a little static.I can't speak as to the accuracy of the uniforms unfortunately.
I love the Gorgon offerings. The sculpting reminds me very much of Artizans Germans so if you like AD you should like Gorgon.
Oddly I don't have and Brigade Gerbs.
hope this helps
edit There is a reason the Gorgon look like Artizan.Mike Owen is Gorgons sculpter LOL

Given that they're going to be used with Crusader and Artizan figures maybe Gorgon are a good choice. And you don't sound overwhelmed by the BTD sculpts!

As the different manufacturers offer different uniform and equipment, quality of sculpt is not the only possible consideration before purchase. Different divisions, fighting in different regions, during different seasons, during different years, were issued different clothing items. the only constant was that they didn't fight naked!  ;D

Do you have any specifics as who, what, when, where you are wanting to represent? One of my woefully neglected blogs: http://www.wirkameradenderberge.blogspot.com/ (http://www.wirkameradenderberge.blogspot.com/)

I wouldn't write off the BTD figs, especially at the price when they have a sale.
I'm just not sure they would go with the Gorgon figures equipment wise.Like corvette says different years and units and they have slightly different equipment and uniforms.
