Title: Ideas for Dark Age/Viking style basing
Post by: Hubbynz on February 11, 2014, 05:13:23 AM
Hello everyone I figured that this might eb the right place to come for expert advice.

I am desperately traing to source some basing material to spruce up approx a 80mm round sized base housing 5 Vikings.

I am on the  look for anything along the lines of stone walls, church or stone stone styled ruins, Celtic crosses, cobbles stones that sort of thing....I just havent been able to find exactly what I am looking for yet.

It has either got to represent where the Vikings are from or some village or church which they has pillaged or perhapsjust some random ruins on the coast.

A pre-made church or stone building ruin base would be preferable because I'm lazy.

All ideas and suggestions as always appreciated.

How about having them run up from the water to a beach ready to pillage? Part of the base with water and the rest with sand. Small portion of the prow of the ship on the base to show them jumping from there?

Stone walls and maybe some cattle or sheep on the other side would be a fairly simple scenic base too. Something like this (http://www.grandmanner.co.uk/Stone_wall_sections__wattle_gate--product--7.html)

This set by Grendel  (http://www.scotiagrendel.com/Products/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=227_40&sort=20a&page=5) could work. These ruins are single pieces, I've got them all and the wall line make frequently a good background for my scenery photos.
