Terrific interview! It's amazing what you find out about people - Bob and I have been friends for several years and yet I'm finding out all this stuff I didn't know! Miles Davis, eh? And Hammett over Chandler ---- :o

Dear Howard,
maybe you should not talk about miniatures all the time

Isn't that the way with hobby enthusiasts though? You know somebody for ten years as a miniatures enthusiast, and then somebody mentions that your friend is also, say, King of Albania, and you never knew it because you were talking about gaming the whole time!

I just hope that Bob Murch is not ACTUALLY the King of Albania, and our conversations about old magazines and casting things in resin and all that sort of thing have made me miss out on his Royal Highness-ness!

Bob story. Last year he was moving to BC, and asked me if I wanted some old fantasy figures he'd had for years. He didn't want to drag them to his new home. So I said yes, despite the fact that I was moving a few weeks later, and would have to carry them. What's a few pounds of lead? So I met him at the Toronto Pulp Show, and we went for lunch in Chinatown. Bob asked me if i had the car with me. I didn't, I'd taken a streetcar. "Ah," he said, "In that case I'll drive you home. I've got 60lbs of lead for you". And he did.

Of course, my wife was at home, and I didn't want her to know exactly how much extra weight I'd have for our own move to New York. So Bob and I walk in with two very heavy boxes, trying to look as if they weighed almost nothing. Which is easier said than done.

My wife said nothing, but I am sure she knew.

My wife would have known too ...

Howard. Now for something completely different. Got nothing to do with lead. Maybe with tough guys...I read Toronto....
Are you a LEAFS supporter ?

Alas, I don't really follow hockey. I'm British, so I'm football mad. Did you want me to get you a Maple Leafs official cap with earflaps next time I'm there? H
