Title: Agema Miniatures - Roman Republican Plastic Sprue (Update 27.03)
Post by: Prof.Witchheimer on March 06, 2014, 04:27:19 PM
I really like him, a great miniature, full of character.

Does anyone know who is the sculptor? It looks to me like a Paul Hicks sculpt.

No idea who the sculptor is but I agree he has the look of greatness about him.  Looking forward to the new plastic Punic Wars legion figures from both Agema and Victrix.

Great sculpt  :-* But to me it doesn't really look like Paul Hicks style, especially the face.... I may be mistaken though.

Hi All,
The sculpt is by Matt Bickley, who has been working up a range of figures for us (that is, Agema Miniatures). Matt and I have been working with Renedra to create a box of plastic 28mm Republican Romans (due for launch at Salute 2014) to accompany our existing Velites, and this chap is a Tribune from the metal command set. He will be accompanied by a Legate / Consul and two Lictors in the pack (also being launched at Salute). Check out our Facebook page for more details  ;)

Welcome, Greg! Thanks for the info on the sculptor, Matt Bickley is a great artist, I'm looking foward to see more from his work.

Btw, I've found the pic on your FB page where he is labelled as "a Roman Legatus or Consul"

Are there any pics of the coming Plastic sprues? I've found only some pics of the greens which are looking very fine.

Hi Prof. Witchheimer!
Matt is pretty damned good - even if I am biased! I did post our figure on FB as a Legatus / Consul, but I did that late last night with a screaming baby in the background and got myself a bit confused - he's supposed to be (one of the) legionary Tribunes, and he comes with a Legate / Consul in the pack. If I could figure out how to post pictures properly, I'd put all 4 figures of the command pack up so you could see them. However, the best I can manage for now is a link to our website! I did manage to post them all up there at least (sorry, massive techno failure).
I'll be putting pics of the plastic sprues up on our FB page and website as soon as they arrive, which should be soon  :D.
Cheers!
Greg

Thanks All,
Glad you like them. There is a pre-order facility up on our website for those that want to beat the rush  :D 50% off a box of Velites when you order a box of Legionaries.  :-*

I'll also be posting up pics of the Maniple command figures over the weekend. I'll put them on our FB page, website and here (If I can overcome my stupidity in not being able to work the pic posting process!!)

Cheers
Greg

This is an era I've always wanted to get into but couldn't afford metal prices.  The figures look great and I have already ordered two boxes for pick at Salute.
