Title: Achilles' Fallout Blog
Post by: Achilles on March 10, 2014, 10:23:25 PM
Just finally started getting some paint on my Brother Vinni Nuclear Sandlot figs.

I am going to modify some of the Unit Entries and Gear lists from AE Bounty for my games I think. Nice solid core of rules there. :)

Brotherhood Scribe

Thanks for all that guys! Sorry it took me so long to reply; lots going on here.

Not the best photos, my SLR is packed and I had to rely on my iPhone with a macro lens for these. Here's three more for my Brotherhood of Steel warband. :)

My Paladin Sergeant with Laser Rifle (some minor conversions here).

Paladin with Minigun (thanks to some wire, putty and an old Imperial Regular).

Here they were pre-painting, so you can get an idea of the conversions. :)

More to come. I've got another Paladin to paint to round out the team and then two robots to accompany the scribe. More BV minis are on their way to me as well; so hopefully they will get painted once moving dies down.

Thanks. The basic paladin fig is actually pretty versatile with a decent bitz box. Just need to get my order in of some basic assault rifles and other odds and ends so I can convert up my other seven... :)

Nice! Little changes here and there really make them come alive. Good job.

Thanks guys!

Up next is a bog-standard Paladin with Laser Rifle. Had to do at least one just 'out of the box'. :)

Agree 100%. One of the most realistic paint jobs I've seen. Very well done!

your painting is fantastic! I'm working on my brother hood army now and am quite jealous of your work. I didn't think of not using the helmets and adding it as an accesory.. I also like the adding power cords ect.

Thanks gents! I may use the sniper guy from BV as a BH Scout as well. :) I love working with these parts!

Is the Paladin's head from a MERCS figure?

It's actually an alternate head from a EDEN figure.

Here you go...

It's the alternate head from 'Heinrich' a Convoy miniature from Taban. :)

D'oh of course  ;D

I have that figure and I used the alternate head on a MERCS figure to make a wasteland merc for Fallout (I'm a bit of a numpty today)

No worries. :) I wish the EDEN figs were a bit smaller. I love em... but they're 35mm at the smallest; very big by BV Standards.

love your work! If you don't mind me asking, what paints are you using for the BoS? (colors, highlights, washes, ect).

I did the battle damaged armour 'damage-in'. Basically, you paint the metallic damage first and then paint in colour of the armour panels 'inside' the damage. I use the same method for tanks, orks, etc. :)

1) Primed Black
2) Whole model drybrushed old Citadel Boltgun Metal, then lightly drybrushed Citadel Necron Compound.
3) Interior of the armour panels painted Citadel Mechanicus Standard Grey
4) Interior of the armour panels lightly highlighted with Citadel Dawnstone.
5) Gloves and armour seams basecoated Privateer Uniform Green. Helmet cables basecoated Privateer Bastion Brown.
6) Weapon basecoated old Citadel Catachan Green.
7) Whole model washed with OLD Citadel Badab Black, thinned with NEW Citadel Lahmian Medium.

Highlights and details are as desired based on the colours above. Brotherhood insignia freehanded using Citadel Skink Blue, highlighted with the really light blue Citadel Edge paint (Can't remember the name).

Hope that helps!

Yup I bought him to be a Great Khans leader, but he's waaay too big
