Hey fellows,
I've been secretly working away on a dungeon project of my own (both a game, and amassing secret hordes of miniatures and terrain). Having learned my lessons from a previous project this won't be seeing the light of day anytime soon, and may remain as a simple home-brew/convention product. However, I'd still like some input as crowd-sourcing is something I enjoy doing for ideas and inspiration.
Let us say this "theoretical" game was something similar to Warhammer Quest (more than a board game, but less than a full RPG). The initial batch of heroes includes four races, and six classes.
What would you choose? Initially we'll stick to a generic "good guy/bad guy" idea...and each race should be able to play at least four of the six classes. Consider a kind of original D&D/Hero Quest charm. What would you make available? I have a list in my head, I just want to see how it stacks up to normal fantasy gamers. Thanks!

I debated that, and Warhammer Quest has a decent forum as well, but I prefer to keep most of my postings to one board, and LA has a much larger audience with a more varied gamer type.

I would go for something very classic
Humans
Dwaves
ELf
Hobbit
Fighter
Cleric
Mage
Thief
Ranger
Paladin or Bard

I agree, the classics are good. They tend to cover the most commonly needed tactical functions in a party (smash, heal, spell, sneak, explore, morale-booster, etc.). Though if you are making this game specifically for dungeons (a.k.a. underground tunnels and rooms), I'd cast the Ranger in a more miner-like mold...

What was listed is pretty much spot on with what I was planning and matches the gaming group feedback I got, so it'll probably head in that direction. I'll just keep hammering away then. lol
