Title: Pulp Alley AAR: The Boy Journalist in Cairo
Post by: Anttipa on March 25, 2014, 01:20:32 PM
The Boy Journalist, his loyal dog Windy and Captain Codfish have traveled to Cairo to meet Dr. Henry, who is rumoured to have found a Lost Valley from the dark continent. However, a criminal organization called CROOC (Criminals of Outstanding Calibre) is interested in finding the lost valley for its own purposes...

The Boy Journalist and his crew, they also got help from two local constables from their network of supporters.

The CROOC crew: leader Leslie the Chainsmoker, Sidekick Baron Schwarzwald and Ally Professor Atajones + 2 gunmen and an Irish street thug for support.

The leagues got quickly to the first plot points, a camel vendor and sausage merchant.

Baron Schwarzwald got along well with the camel merchant, getting more information on Dr. Henry's whereabouts. Meanwhile, Captain Codfish had some serious trouble trying to understand a word the sausage merchant said.

The Constables had moved to a side alley and tried to take down Swift O'Brien. However, with the luck of the Irish, he managed to dodge all their bullets.

The tommygunners of CROOC had made their way on top of a house and began a long shooting match with the constables in the alley. Eventually, all but a single constable had fallen.

The Boy Journalist offered help to Captain Codfish with interpretation, but failed. Finally, Captain Codfish resorted to violence and suddenly, after a good blow to his head, the sausage merchant started to speak French fluently and Journalist and Captain were off to find another clue. "You Mameluke!"

Windy got into trouble and was attacked by the Irish boxer, Swift O'Brien. Captain Codfish arrived to help and knocked Swift out with a single blow! "Don't you dare touch Boy's puppie, you corsair!"

Professor Atajones of the CROOC had found a friend of Dr. Henry, but just as he was asking for directions, Atajones got struck by a crazed camel and passed out. A dreadful accident he never fully got over.

Windy the heroic dog, ran quickly to another friend of Dr. Henry's to get a scent of the Dr. He got attacked by a horrible Cairo rat, a three-foot long monstrosity, whose sharp teeth ripped poor Windy unconscious:

Leslie the Chainsmoker had been mostly smoking in the shadows so far, hiding and waiting for opportunities to arise. However, his team had had a bit of a tough time and he had to try to make things better by himself...

... only to be beaten up by the brutish Captain Codfish in two rounds:

Meanwhile, the Boy Journalist was having a shootout with Baron Schwarzwald, but he had forgot to put a clip into his pistol...

... The Boy Journalist then jumped on the evil Baron, took a hit from defensive firing...

... and knocked out the already wounded Baron with a vicious pistol whip.

"Blistering barnacles!", Captain murmured. "The merchants saw Dr. Henry leaving his hotel long ago during all the fighting, he must have been frightened of all the shooting."
"Was that six rounds already?", the Boy Journalist amazed. "Ok, I'll put a plaster on Windy, you go get a truck for us! We have to catch Dr. Henry, before those croocs get him and use his findings for something of extreme evility..."

Thanks for watching, the amazing visual effects made with Paint :)

I REALLY enjoyed reading your AAR.

Pretty minis, beautifully painted and some cracking scenery, plus a very creative narrative.

Seems like a fun game from start to finish.
