Just posted the pictures of my two finished troops of Irish Guards Shermans on my blog:

(There are tons and tons of clickable pictures on the post!)
Yes, these are 28mm not 15mm! :-D
All models are Tamiya, with one from Hobby Boss. Crews are by Warlord Games.
Enjoy,
Burkhard
P.S.: And here is the mandatory pre-view (as I said... lots more on the blog):

Really nice work matey :-*.
Darrell.
-
Thanks Darrell... glad you like them!
-
Very well done. Nice collection.
-
very nice piece of modelling and painting.
How are You wargaming them? Will You complete them with some Recce and Command?
They look so much better in 1/48...
-
I know it's a matter of choice, and I am definitely not trying to re-kindle the debate, but I pretty much only use 1/48 and 1/50 scale vehicles in my gaming (SoTR and Dust). They just seem to fit better.
-
Thank you guys!
Well I guess the scale discussion has been decided in my case! ;-)
@former user: The Irish Guards will see the addition of a three tank honey Recce Troop, Vandeleurs Scout car for the Command element and a Crusader III AA tank. That will most likely be it. Further additions will be to the Guards AD in general. So four Cromwells from the Welsh Guards and various scout and armored cars from the 2nd Household Cavalry. There is also an Achilles TD from the 21st Anti Tank Regiment, Royal Artillery which is already finished (I worked on it together with these Shermans) and only waiting for its crew.
-
Oh... almost forgot. There will also be a Troop of Churchills from the Scots Guards and an armoured HQ van from Divisional HQ.
-
wow, this is cool
and insane...
are these only showcase but also wargaming models?
-
Well there is a method to my madness. For example my Russian forces contain 11 T-34/76 alone, all in 1:48th scale. All these Brits should give me the the option to play almost any scenario I want. There will also be an AVRE, Churchill Crocodile and a flail Sherman added, but obviously those will not be from the Guards.
And yes... these are for wargaming. I guess for displays they would require more work and details.
-
I am afraid to ask about the germans....
lest You are pursuing hot war 1945 scenarios, brits vs sovs...
-
Finally another "Nutter". All my armies are in 28mm and for BFK.
So I got 100 tanks and hundreds of figs.

Dear Boy,
A very impressive clean style.
Keep it up

Yes, I think I am nutcase as well. My Germans are a bit more diversified when it comes to tanks with only 5 long barrelled PzKw IV, but in general... There is lots of them too. And I always try to build my infantry at platoon size plus support weapons. About the only exception are my Soviets which are well over 250 infantry alone (and more when my Winter War minis arrive).
Thanks again for the nice comments!
