Peder, that is utterly brilliant :)
-
The good Captain's painting is as crisp and exquisite as ever, though I have to say that Hammer's composition is stunning. No one deserves to lose this one, they are both excellent.
-
Wow, this is a tough choice

Summed up very nicely, Steve.
The crispest paintjob Vs the greatest composition of the round.
HELP!

Indeed both entries are very good, to say the least, but best composition wins!
it deserves to show us close ups of the cages etc. there is some exquistic paintjob there, too!
-
How terribly unfair to have to choose! Both are excellent entries, and the best of the whole round. I express my criticism to the illustrious moderator for forcing us to choose between them.
-
This one has to be a flip of a coin job to decide for me.
-
Hammers' got a fetisch... lol
-
The painting in both is great, and Hammers' composition is wonderful. He consistently puts together settings that are simply remarkable in their interest value. Richard

Peder, that is utterly brilliant :)
Right back atchya! I fear this is going to be rough...
-
Fuck me this is a tough call. Both utterley superb.
I don't like Snakes though :( but I still voted for you ;))
-
I thought Frank v Bugsda was a tough one, but this is a real b'tch.
Those black and white striped trousers look really good. Once this round is over will the matelots slip back into their usual slop issue and hand the nifty striped trousers over to a bunch of Italian Renaissance Mercenaries ready for round 4?

Ah, thanks Peder - that's very sporting of you, but I know all too well when there's no way back in the LPL :)
First those pesky gypsies, now the bloody parrots >:(
Having seen the loving work you put into building all those cages and crates and filling them with wonderful little birds and beasties, and having seen your brilliant Arumbaya collection first hand, I don't begrudge you the win one little bit.
(By the way, next time you come to England again, you're staying at Malamute's, not my place).
;)
lol
-
Aren't the arumbaya the tribe from Tintin and the Broken War? The idol reminded me of it so I looked up my copy of the book only to see the arumbayas!
-
By the way, next time you come to England again, you're staying at Malamute's, not my place
Oh... He does't like my snakes so this is going to mean friction. For him, because I am going to put them, as promised, in his bed.
-
Very difficult to judge!
Captain Blood, your photo is so good. The real white background brings out the painted colours beautifully.
-
Peder, that is utterly brilliant :)
He's right you know!

Bastardo! :o :'(

The crispest paintjob Vs the greatest composition of the round.
True, but Hammer pjs are top notch too!
-
So Hammers, who is he thsi time? Snake Inspector General for the Arumbaya
-
So Hammers, who is he thsi time? Snake Inspector General for the Arumbaya
He is the secretary to the Paquadorian Minister of Culture and Pig Farming, delegated to oversee that the filming permission issued for the Arumbaya region is followed to the letter. Probably more familiar with pig farming, or he would not have stumbled into a live set like that...
-
Two masters at work. Beautiful stuff!
:-* :o :-*
-
This is the hardest one of the round! Yikes...such artistry.
And this is probably my favorite composition of LPL 8, so far...
Mike Demana
-
As I scroll down through all the entries, they get better and better. The choice gets harder and harder.
Brilliant work from two fantastic painters!
-
Seeing both of these is a real treat
The detail in Hammers entry is extraordinary and matched by the Captain's crisp style. Shame I had to choose
I take my hat off to you gents, stunning work
-
Stunning work form both of you! These birds, cages and details of the Hammers picture are brilliant and Richards landing party is a piece of art. My favorites match so far!
-
Richard, I've been Franked but you've been Hammered lol
Superb entries fella's :-*
-
Richard, I've been Franked but you've been Hammered lol
lol
He's here all week ;)
-
Hammers
Fabulous work! Thank you for sharing it.
PS. Why does Groucho Marx have a different base to the others?
AJ
-
"CLASH of the TITANS" lol
-
These are both great :)
Richard you must have a full ship's crew by now, and probably the best painted sailors to see a table.
Hammers, wow- what a wealth of details, even down to the socks :)
-
I saw the first one and thought it couldn't be topped but then scrolled down. Simply wow!
These are both the best I have ever seen! (still a few to look through this round though ;))
-
Hard to pick.
Both wonderful.
-
Well, it's nice to break through 500 voters, even though I'm on the losing end of this one ;)
Well done Hammers - sterling work, convincing victory, well deserved :)
