The first thing I thought of when I saw wonderful 'space wasps' by Akky (Akula's Galactic Armies (http://akulasarmies2.blogspot.co.uk/)) was 'Psychneuein'.
Here the original (shamelessly stolen from advertising Akky's blog):

Here what I got:

I didn't think I was capable of making a black/yellow scheme work here, so I went for the easy solution, brownscale :D.

Of course, though I'm talking about Rogue Trader, these lovely, scaring bugs can make their way into any ambientation:

More pics and WIP here :):

Those are some nasty looking critters!
To be honest; they completely passed me by, but your pictures have put them on my to-get list. So many uses! First thing that came to my mind is that they're great for use as Necromunda beasties with some Beastmaster.
Excellent paintjob too by the way; the use of very light brown is almost yellow to the eye anyway, and I think it works a treat! 8)

Very nice work Suber! :-*
Great models, great paintjob. And like you said, seem to be really multipurpose critters!
-
Ya know, with a stinger to size of a person's arm...I'm sure plenty of people would be quite allergic to these fellas.
-
They ley eggs in your brain ;) but only if you are pshychic
-
Awesome, so many uses. Dire wasps to fill out a dungeon.

I have a beast master that is lacking beasts, thanks for pointing the usefulness of these.

Lovely paint jobs mate - glad to see them getting some use.
:)

Thank you! :) I'm looking forward to set up some scenarios for them ;)

Wargames Supply Dump :)
Like that one.

Like that one.
Alas, 'currently out of stock'.

On the other, other hand, I think you have to do some serious wheedling to get the others from Akula. :D
Doug
Edit: And frankly, while the WSD's are quite handsome, there's something very RT about Akula's...

I had almost forgotten I had this thread :( But it is time to bring it back to life! :)
Through the Oldhammer Forum I have get to know about this gorgeous Space Minotaur:
So I couldn't wait to get myself a couple of them; here is the first one:

But a big guy like this need some friends ;). Fortunately I also had these wonderful Phagons (no need to introduce them, I guess :D):
So they make a nice bunch:

You can see them in the blog:

I still have another Mino, so he will be part of the band (hopefully) soon!

Great to see you back at this Suber :)
Good looking new additions :-*
-
Great stuff!!!!
The Minotaur and Phagon really go well together!
-
I still had another Mino ;):

I do believe black looks much better than brown. I kept on the red scheme and didn't touch the mini but only to replace the bayonet with this piece of unknown origin.
I also went on the Fimir Noble. Way too green, I'm afraid, but I experienced some difficulties with an old paint pot :( . Anyway, here it is.

I still have the Pisceans left, but they also are on their way... ;)

Hi Suba,
Would it be OK to use one of your pictures of the Giant Wasps I sculpted for my new website I'm doing?
Thanks
George

Oh, please, serve yourself! I'm a fan of your sculpt! I feel flattered (blush). I guess I can try to take better pics...

Intertwined with my Space Riders thread (http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=85235.0) and the one about the Pisceans (http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=71010.0) (which in fact I think would make sense belonging here), today I'm bringing another beast from the Rogue Trader times.
A (talented) friend of mine has been so kind of giving me a mini. Nothing strange so far, OK. But this time it's different. He sculpted from scratch an Enslaver, right from the pages of the Rogue Trader book o_o o_o o_o
(http://vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net/warhammer40k/images/c/ce/RTEnslaver.jpg/revision/latest/scale-to-width-down/250?cb=20130417165837)
So let me show his work first, I find it amazing. He took a walnut as a start point, then added DAS putty for the main shapes and greenstuff later on:

So this is what I got:
I kept it by the book and painted it in a leathery fashion with the "eye" in red.
Here you can find it all:
http://oldschoolworkshop.blogspot.com.es/2016/04/rt-bestiary-enslaver.html
Now I need a proper scenario for this beast!

Love it! excellent sculpting and painting.
