Title: Old Glory Maori Wars
Post by: fastolfrus on April 20, 2014, 10:00:32 AM
Does anyone have pictures of OG Maori Wars figures?

In particular the RN landing party with rockets?

Thank you - I keep forgetting that the US site has more pictures.

The Carlist frame is glorious, but the figures are tricky.
I actually need something for 1814, and the Carlist one wouldn't fit in.
The only Napoleonic ones tend to be RHA - even less useful - but 1840s RN crew would pass more easily than the Carlists.

It's a nuisance/shame that no-one has done a RM gun crew for Napoleonics yet.

Gary, I bought a few Britannia RN gun crew figures, but they're quite old school, and too large too fit well with the Hicks' sculpted Brigade Games Napoleonic naval landing parties. Or indeed, with the Empress Maori Wars sailors which I'm also pressing into service.
However, I picked up a selection of the Newline Designs RN gun crew at Salute, and they are a much better fit. I'll get some painted up as soon as I've nailed my final LPL entry...
Brigade Games do have one gun crew pack in their range, but one or two of the figure poses are a bit off to my eye. One of them is in RM jacket and tam / forage cap though.
But one figure, does not a gun crew make...  ::)

Thank you.

Any thoughts on US Marines? (either landing parties or gun crews)
I'm aware of the Knuckleduster ones (they also have RM landing parties, and Lower Canada militia in round hats, who might proxy for RM but they have full backpacks).

I even looked at Napoleon in Egypt ranges to see if they might provide RM figures.
