Hello all
Being new on this topic thing of the Old West i think the proper way to put it right is to put some pictures (sorry for the poor quality) of my first posse and a few more experiences in OW.
Hope you like.
I will be back from time to time to place something new.
Cheers

And some Indians.

Hi Rui,
Nice Warpaint on the Lakota/Cheyenne. ;D
Looks like the makings of an adobe in the background too. :)

It certainly is.

Nice posse...they look suitably unscrupulous. I'd hang em.
-
Looking mighty fine Rui!
Any named characters or posses yet?
-
Hoka Hey!!
Yup. Its a nice experience and some day my indian posse may see the light. :D
Thanks for the comments. :)
I´m working on a texas rangers posse and then get back to my romans.
Yes its an adobe but still thinking if goes for the OW or desert. Or maybe roman lol

Hello again
No names yet Antti.
They are just some outlaws posse with no name.
I have a huge collection for painting.
Mounted cowboys are about 30.
Mounted indians 12.
Foot posses about 5 or 6.
Damn. So many lead and so few free time.
Elbows, you would hang them if you could catch them. lol

And to finish for today...
Yeeeeaaaahhhh!!
The south will rise again... :D
-
Great start bud!
What's the manufacturer if the Lakota Indian please?
-
Hello Digits
The mouted indian is Wargames foundry and the horse is Conquest miniatures.
It gives another dinamic for the rider.

Rui

Aha! That's why I was confused! Good combo!
-
Hello all
An update of my mounted cowboys so far.
Hope you like them as mutch as i do.

I still have a long way to go... :?
-
:o
Thats a lot of lead to get going on.
Good luck as I am enjoying watching your rapid progress.
:D
-
Hello all
Well, the rapid progress was easy because i had a lot of half painted figures for a long time and i decided to make a pause on my roman gangs so it was fast to paint. :)
I still have some to paint and post here on the next days and then get back to my romans.
Digit, those cows are making me envy. I think i will loose my head and order a few for me. :D
About buildings, i think i will make 2 or 3 but the rest probably will be bought from sarissa. I love those buildings. I just have to decide what to do on my small town.
Still has no name. :?
Cheers

Looking really good. I must paint my cowboys up at some point

Hello all
Some updates.
First a newly painted outlaw for my new outlaw posse (yes, another one).
Then a Pegasus building slightly transformed as an outside town building or small hut.

Pegasus building
-
Hello all
With all those lovelly OW towns, i´ve decided to name mine. :D
Apache Springs in Arizona will be a small town named after some springs controlled by apaches and stolen by the "white man" but still named as a sign of respect for the resistance made by the apaches.
Soon pictures of the first building.
Cheers
Rui
-
Good town name! I look forward to the painted town!
-
Lovely cabin and 'cheerful' looking apachies :D i like their warpaint. Good to see you came up with a name, every town needs a name.
Cheers
Matt

Looking good.
Looking forward to seeing more buildings.
:D
-
Congrats on the name-giving, very cool and good short story for the background.
-
Hello all
Many thanks for the coments.
Here are some pictures of the first building.
Not yet painted, just with brown primer soon to be painted, a small barn previously partially pictured.

So nice to see so many mounted figures in an Old West thread - painted, too. It just ain't the old west without them critters. Very nice work, sir.

Just like me.

Rui,
the more I see of that 'primed brown' building, the more I like it.
Where is it from?

;)
the Re-animator is back to this topic :D
-
Rui,
I looked on the website but the product they are showing and your building are considerably different (walls, roof, rails). Did you add stuff to yours or am I looking at the wrong building?
-
Hello all
ooopppsss, sorry i just answered Mason instead of putting a post.
The barn/stable is scratchbuilt with plasticard and the fences are from Italeri.
I just placed a link to a manufacturer to answer another question.

Finally back to the subject.
Some updates of painted figures.
Apache Springs is back in business. :D
-
And some more.
-
Well done! 8)
I'm a long way from the painting stage! :(
-
Steve, some more ideas for you.
The High Chaparral (you can find most episodes in youtube).
More to come soon. :D
-
And he's back and with a blast! :o
Great to see you back and thanks for treating us with the new minis, they look great! 8)
-
Looking great keep it up :D
-
Oh I like the Al Swearagen figure 8) 8) 8)

A very productive update, well done.
Indeed it is.
I love the girl in the 'swirling' skirt.
Plenty of movement in that figure, I shall have to remember her.
:-*
Steve, some more ideas for you.
The High Chaparral (you can find most episodes in youtube).
For me, too.
I have plans for a hacienda at some point, something to add for Mexicans to lurk in, when time permits.
:D
-
Matt, Antti, Paul and David thanks for the comments.
Indeed High Chaparrall is a good sorce of ideas because it has apaches, mexican rancheros and banditos, white outlaws, cavalry etc.
Paul, if i´m not mistaken the girl is from Eureka.
Do check the Sarissa hacienda for ideas. Also High Chaparral too. The Montoya hacienda might be usefull.
-
Thanks for the tip - I'm sure I watched High Chapperal as a kid - I shall check it out! 8)
-
And the town gets bigger.
A small step each time. :)
-
The buildings used so far.
-
That's a nice amount of buildings Rui!
What kind of colour plan you have for them? Bright new paint jobs or dusty and old?
Few more and you can have a crossroads in Apache Springs :)
-
That thar water tank going' to be slakin' some thirsts? And, if so, is it going to be the thirsts of folks or horses, iron or otherwise? o_o
-
A nice starting point, Rui.
I look forward to following your progress.
:D
Now....Get to it!
>:D
-
Antti, no clue on painting yet.
I think i will gather all the buildings i want and then plan some painting.
FifteensAway, the same. I have no clue yet.
A nice starting point, Rui.
I look forward to following your progress.
Now....Get to it!
lol
I´m on it. 3 more cowboys on the painting desk plus 2 more mounted us cavalry. ;D

Sometimes being clueless is a good thing. Allows sudden inspiration to strike in ways that cause us to feel humbled by the flashes of brilliance that arrive unbidden - and wonder "where the heck did that come from!"
Um, no pressure, though, none at all, right?
-
So, have you decided to paint up the models you wanted to get rid off, then? :)
-
Niels, they are still available if you want them. :)
FifteensAway, something like that. :D
