I like those. Not my area of interest but they look great. I especially like the bases. I wish I could get that kind of random mix with the larger boulders on mine.
-
Extremely well painted. The bases are really good too.Excellent variation on the ground. ;)
-
Basing is all about texture. I have 4/5 different pots with assorted basing materials. I then have another which I mix amounts of each in until it looks right for the style I'm after and just dip the bases in.

Daddy likes!!!! :-*
Good greens. I do have a bit of trouble with greens. You have a great touch.

Nice concept there.
Care to give hints about whaccha got in the pots? Hmmmmm? ;)

Sure, it changes periodically but currently I have:
A small tub of very fine sand. (Currently the GW stuff as I found some in an old box)
A big tub of coaser sand. (Bought from Ikea, sold for putting around candles etc)
A small tub of Limestone chippings. (Sold as a model railroad material)
A small tub of fine gravel. (Not sure where I got this actually but it looks similar to the larger bits on Majorsmiths bases)
The above is then mixed for texture in a big tub, although I generally don't use the chippings and gravel together. To make life easier, use a coloured sand for one of them. Makes it easier to tell how your mix looks.
I then have tubs for extras which can be mixed in for a part buried look or placed before/after the base mix.
A small tub of cork 'boulders'. (Railroad again)
A small tub of tall grass. (Woodland Scenics, three colours which I again mix together to get a look I want)
A couple of small tubs of different flocks inc static.
A small tub of cogs/gears taken from video players, clocks etc.
A small tub or plaster rubble. (Pour plaster into a square plastic lid or similar and then crumble it up for some great looking rubble, the plastic lid will put straight edges on some of it)
A small tub of assorted wires. (Very thin electric cable and guitar string for cables, and coiled picture wire for rope)

Very nice. Love the visors
-
Major,
I really do like those figures and you've got a very realistic "combat" look to the painting. Great stuff!
I have some Copplestone Future Wars and some GW Tau as enemies for my sci-fi games and I was wondering how Pig Iron match up in terms of bulk, height etc to Copplestone, Foundry etc.

Thanks good sir.
Variety for the winning texture!
Gluteus Maximus
Really terrific "combat" look, yeah baby!

bandit86
Yeah. That color and 'glint' is fetching
Good stuff lads!

gm, the pig iron stuff is a little smaller than say a cadian guardsman, i will try to post some pics on monday fo you compared with copplestone and Gw.
-
Awesome stuff! I really like the colour scheme you used and the way you did the visors - good yellow.
The one in the cap is my favourite - love the pose, the head you used and the brick wall!
-
very nice, effective bases too :)

hes part of the command pack,
-
The old Valhallen figures still look good , I have a heap of them waiting for paint. Been thinking of doing a Hammer Slammers Army with them if I can con somebody into doing an opposing army.
I really like the Pig Iron figures , been tempted to get them as well.

hes part of the command pack,
You sure? The head doesn't look like the ones I have, plus the weapon?
The Commander
-
Yes I have the pack, he's a sniper. You also get a comms man, officer, medic and medical droid.

Oh yeah, the one piece command set, sorry my mistake, I just have the helmet sprues for the heavy troopers, have the kolony ones though for my wierd war II stuff.
