The most typical pirate island I ever saw, right down to the last detail, except for the lack of crocodiles........ lol

Fantastic set-up. There will be some splendid pirating going on there, I'm sure  lol

I particularly like the shelters and the magnificent crow's nest look-out post.

I agree with Grimm, maybe some matt varnish would dull the plants down and make it look even better.

Please post the pics when you play your first game on it!

Nice. You should paint the sides of the tiles though. I can see some styrofoam sticking out. :)

Looks splendid.
Out of interest, what size/scale is it ?

Beautiful! The use of a broken mast as a lookout tower is inspired! the only thing missing is old Ben Gunn's cave. (maybe he's hiding out in skull rock?).

Well, glad you like it!
Thanks for the nice comments  :)

Argonor is right, the Palm trees are indeed Pegasus. Be aware to clean them, before painting! Otherwise nothing will stick to the plastic! Stupid me  >:(

The size of the whole island is 120cmx120cm (4x4), quartered  ;)

For a really big bunch of palm trees, try cake decoration trees

Pfeil & Holding has some very cheap ones. They have an online shop, but I do not remember the URL, and googling doesn't help (must be doing something wrong)..

Ask Pete Murray - I got the address from him last year!

EDIT: Another source: http://www.bakingshop.com/cakes/animals/plants.htm

EDIT 2: OK, it's Pfeil & Holing: http://www.cakedeco.com/cgi-bin/webc.cgi/st_sresults.html - search for 'Palm'

I need a bunch of palm tress...

I have NOT ordered from this ebay store (yet) but "everydaygoodz" on evilbay has lots of stuff like these palm trees (EvilBay link) (http://cgi.ebay.com/t050-20pcs-Scale-Train-Layout-Set-Model-Trees-TT-N-Z_W0QQitemZ280243256820QQihZ018QQcategoryZ486QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem) for sale, much cheaper than the multipart plastic kit trees I've seen.

Palm trees from roughly 1" up to 5" tall, mostly in 20-40 tree lots. Other trees too - could be a good source for a big lot of relatively inexpensive jungle trees.

EDIT to add: how do I change text colour? I don't like how links are, by default, the exact same colour as the text... and the board's colour tags don't seem to work?

EDIT to add: how do I change text colour?

To change text color look above the posting box you see the smilies, then two rows of icons.  In the top row there is a box with a drop down window entitled "Change Color."  Click on the arrow and pick the color you want by left clicking on it.  You will get something like this: [colr=red][/colr]  Note I have had to remove an "o" in the word color for the code to show up.  All you do now is insert the words you want in color between the brackets.  Like this:  [colr=red]I love red.[/colr]

Of course, if you do not modify the code as I have done to show you how to do it it comes out like this:  I love red.
