Title: Blast from the past - an old Japanese castle
Post by: Jakar Nilson on May 04, 2014, 04:47:52 AM
This is a bit of a nostalgia post...

Back in the late 90s, when I got into gaming, I had bought the Legends of the Five Rings RPG book and thought that my first fantasy army was going to be GW High Elves. To bring it all together, I built a huge castle inspired by the pictures of Japanese castles in Dover colouring books and National Geographics. It was going to be awesome, and have a courtyard, and interior rooms.

As you can see, it wasn't the roaring success I imagined it would be. And it had some bad flaws, like narrow balconies and bad access points. Still, it led to better projects and some of the stories eventually got repurposed into other projects.

I rather like it. Actually, if you still have it you could always get a Kickstarter up and running and try and offload it as a modular gaming table. :)

Oh, it's been gone for almost a decade now, I think. Plus, I don't know anyone with enough cleavage for the KS video.

Maybe that's why I can't get any sleep tonight. lol
