Hope I'm posting this to the right place, and that it hasn't been posted before (according to a quick search it hasn't).
I am not connected to this crowd-funding project in any way, and am posting it as it's rather interesting and useful - and already funded.
They're making 28mm scale (although they can be used for other scales as well I guess) etched brass sheets showing designs, shapes, numbers etc. for four themes: a sci-fi set, a fantasy set, a steampunk set (with cogs!), and a set dedicated to be used with Mantic Warzone scenery. They seem reasonably priced - 22$ for any two sheets, for example - and quite detailed.

Some of those details look interesting, but to be fair aren't new. A few companies do etched details like these. Notably Hasslefree carry a range.

I got the Sci-Fi sheet at Salute.
lovely stuff, but the guns are fiddly, although veteran modelers experienced in the use of PE probably won't think so...

The stuff pictured isn't quite my style, but it is different enough from the other gaming PE sets I've seen (like the ones sold by Hasslefree) that I wish them all success on the idea that more variety = better chances for everyone to get what they want (just like with Batman and James Bond movies). If their Indiegogo drive is successful and they're able to start an actual retail product line, I'll be keeping an eye on what else they make in the future in the hopes it will be my style.

Looks funded already. Some pretty cool stuff in there. I have been using various sci-fi and armor model kit PE sheets for a while but stuff that is already in scale without major modification will be a welcome relief.

i just discovered it now, and i'm fairly impressed! I won't probably take anything, but some of those sets offer some nice weapons indeed! =)

They look nice, but i really would love to see your finger next to them: they look sturdy, but i suspect they are MUCH smaller than they look :)
(BTW, i'm working now with MEMS.... i could do some weapons with details up to 3 micron wide!!! The only problem is that the etching mask should costa 'round 1 million $... but it should be reaaaally awesome nonetheless!!!)

Is that a dust mite?
How do the brass pieces build up to have some volume?
For those guns, for example, are they composed of multiple layers? Or is super-glue injected inside so they keep their shape?
And for swords - one layer for the whole long blade and multiple layers to make a round-ish handle?
These are very cool for detailed planes (2-dimensional surfaces) but I am stretching my mind for making 3D objects from these super-thin 2D pieces. Can someone explain to me?

And yes, that's a bed (or dust?) mite! And the ones i'm working on are around 10 times smaller than those gears, maybe 100 times smaller!

You superpose the layers to form a shape.

Nah, they're etched on 1 side, so 2 layers to form 1 blade. No idea for the handle, as there are none on the SF sheet AFAIK.

You can create anything from layers. It's a bit like those 3D sculpture puzzles :

Very interesting stuff; I think I have use for just about all of their sprues and it looks great... :D
