I will be starting a project log for Ghost in the shell.
The project will be going live at Gubbspel Galore V in Gothenburg at the end of august.
Here is a few WIP pics
Think Tank

Minis for the project, Freom left to right Motoko Kusanagi v1, Batou, Motoko Kusanagi SAC version 2, Motoko Kusanagi SAC version 3, Thermoptic Camouflage, Motoko Kusanagi Arise version 4, all except Batou in WIP stage of painting. The different Motokos will be used in different parts/scenarios.

Still looking for useful miniatures for Paz, Saito, Ishikawa, Borma and Aramaki so if anyone has any suggestions they are welcome.
-
:o :-* ;D
Tank and prototype must have been costly?
-
Good lord, where'd you get the R3000 Spider tank!!!???
Great project, I have almost all those figures lounging around my hobby area.
-

They set me back about £40 each including postage and about £8 in customs charge for the HAW.

Great project, I have almost all those figures lounging around my hobby area.
Found it on ebay, turned out to be a recast kit I am afraid. Brittle low quality resin.
Well it turned out ok after a bit of work. The scale is about 1/50.
The HAW is from Hobbylink japan and is a 1/35 scale kit. Repositionable and with exchangeable parts. I guess I will have to glue it together in a final pose before painting.
-
Cool 8)
I think I'll be looking for similar kits next time I'm over in Japan :)
cheers

I love GITS. I will follow this project eagerly. I saw that tank model before, and I think it's forward pointing torso is too narrow or long. Anyway, I hope to see more of your efforts in the future :)
-
Might I suggest picking up the not-kusanagi figures from a antenocitis workshop Governance of Technology range, I bought them at salute and they really lovely and, conveniently, come in stealthier and un-stealthed versions! They are only around until the end of June so worth picking up while you can!

Hasslefree also has a Not-Marv / Not-Hellboy with changeable head. It would serve well for Batou. I think I have seen at least one other GITS poject that had a very cool (customized?) Batou figure that looked exactly like in the movie.
East Riding Miniatures also has a nice near-future range, might be worth a look.
-
WOW! :-* :-*
Looking great, Anders!
-
Looking good so far. Always wanted some ghost in the shell minitures. Will keep an eye out.

Ditto, together with some suitable rules that fit the genre well and that are quite customisable.
This is my Tachikoma that I built, together with Kusanagi and Batou.

Woohoo...GITS rocks! One of my favorite series. So excellent project and your first steps are already great. Thumbs up man 8)

Thanks everyone!

I agree but it is the best one I have found yet...

Got that one and have ordered the clear one as well. I will be getting the clear version of of Capt Isseki as well (Bateu) from Hasslefree.

I was thinking of perhaps using him as another Bateu or perhaps Borma with a headswap.
WOW! :-* :-*
Looking great, Anders!
Thanks Dave, I will be using Pulp Alley for this one as well.

I have been oogling and drooling over your thread for a long time now, I must see if I can manage to do something similar....
Woohoo...GITS rocks! One of my favorite series. So excellent project and your first steps are already great. Thumbs up man 8)
Thanks coming from you that is high praise indeed, your excellent cyberpunk thread was a great inspiration.
-
Lovely collection so far. Love GITS! Been collecting for an eventual project myself.
Going to be following this.
-
Love GITS. Will be following with great interest

I can also strongly suggest taking a look at Serena Dawn, a website about various fan-made role-playing adaptions of things like Aliens vs. Predator and Ghost in the Shell. Probably one the most comprehensive source of information about these universes in the English language besides dedicated wikis.
http://www.serenadawn.com/GhostintheShellRPG.htm
-
Yes a nice resource indeed.
Here is the start of a try at a Tachikoma, a logikoma is also in the works.

Looks like good start there. What did you use for the dome and the abdomen?
-
Looks like good start there. What did you use for the dome and the abdomen?
The dome is half of a hollow clear plastic christmas decoration ball from Panduro, the the abdomen is the tip of an asthma inhaler.
I have done a bit more but no photos yet, hopefuelly later tonight,
-
Ahhh, thought I recognised the abdomen part, but just couldn't place where from.
-
One good source would be also a Pokemon candy container (or whatchamacallit), I might have sourced one or two of those myself...

More sanding and detailing to do then on to the logikoma.

Nice!

Great stuff :)

First building and Motoko and Aramaki(still WIP)
-
Ah, the great PodTel. It doesn'T look like you edged the model, I highly recommend it for a much cleaner look.
-
Looks good, I can see you've gone with Arise Motoko, are you doing SAC as well or not? What mini have you used for the old ape Aramaki?
-

It has been edged seems like a few spots are shining through though probably due to a too light a coulor for the edging.

I will be using different era Motokos in different scenarios, see earlier pic...

Aramaki is a doctor who fig (Heresey's Dr Hugh II) with a statuesque miniatures Asylum loonies head with some filing and greenstuff work done.
-

Dunno if you do the edging before assembling, but it helps.
I also color part of the tabs so if I don't get a precise fit, no white will show.
-
I usually do that, can't remember if I did or did not this time, will remedy it though.

Batou
(http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u150/Horakte/DSC_0102_zps9813cd7a.jpg)
Pazu
(http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u150/Horakte/DSC_0112_zps4e35b46a.jpg)
Heavy combat cyborg without skin covering.

Motoko with Tachikoma )It is 1/35 scale)
Scratchbuilt Tachikoma and 1/35 scale Tachikoma. The question is should I go with the larger bought version or the only slightly smaller scratchbuilt version?
Diverse minis for the project still in need to be put into working leagues for Pulp Alley:
Suited Sumo class cyborg.

-
Well just have a Tachikoma and a Dijikoma/whatever-koma! Paint yours in whatever colour you fancy and use it. I like the Pazu fig (where's it from?) and the white assassin.
-
Pazu is Hasslefrees Wiilliam
(http://www.hfminis.co.uk/img_cms/product_images/hfa066.jpg)
The White Assassin is from Crooked Dice.
Perhaps you are right about about the Tachikoma/Fuchi-/Diji-/Whateverykoma.
-
If you aren't fed up with them yet, another where did you get? question:
Motoko Kusanagi SAC version 2
Where is this figure from?

Thanks, Out of stock currently, but on my list. ::)
-
Nice work, looks like a suitable collection of figures.
I picked up that resin light tank... you weren't kidding that's going to take some TLC to get it up to scratch :)
-
Whos the metal fella with the blue glowing chest?
I could do me one of they.
MM.

It's a resin figure made by MDC, a few companies carry it. I know Northstar have them in stock as I've seen them on the racks.

It is from Studio McVey.

Indeed I just wish that the resin was not so fragile. I think it broke in four places before I was finished. Partly due to accidents bu still...

I hope this doesn't annoy you since you have put so much effort into sculpting a Tachikoma but there are a "few" gaming sized Tachi, Fuchi and Uchikomas out there, well there were anyway as trading figures, stacking figs and even one that can walk (the metallic one in the front next to the Infinity minis), you might be able to find them 2nd hand from places like Rakuten http://global.rakuten.com/en/search?st=&tl=0&k=%E3%82%BF%E3%83%81%E3%82%B3%E3%83%9E wow that link looks garbled but it should search for tachikomas for you

Thanks for the link, but I too have looked many times for a tachikoma in the right (sort of) size, and found many of the ones you show here, but until now I had no idea just how big/small they were and whether they'd fit or not - thanks for the photo!
Which is the one in between the metallic one and the Uchikoma? Because to my eye that looks the best fit. Or perhaps one of the three on the row behind it.
Cheers!
Duncan
-
That one is from Megahouse and is the 2nd oldest of my Tachikomas, mind you they have one for sale here
http://global.rakuten.com/en/store/surugaya-a-too/item/7634795-1/
Cool thing about that one is the back actually can open up too, there's some cockpit detail inside too. I'd say that version is probably my favourite of these sized figures since it has more of a spread out leg stance that looks more like it should be, most of the others have the legs too verticle.
The back row as well as the yellow and grey ones plus the Uchikoma were from a set of trading figures of just Tachikomas, think they had a secret figure of a power suit as well that you needed the full set to get all the parts. Hmm who made that set.... just found a box. Organic http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10052220 this was the set if you can find it anywhere. I bought a box of 10 when they were announced years ago.
-
Thanks for the links and the pictures for scale.
I will see if I manage to get some given time and money constraints but I will definately try. ;)
-
Any update on this project. I am thinking of starting one soon myself
-
Picture update com7ng soon. I've been busy between real life tm and trying to finish it all in time for the convention. I am also waiting for some bases that have been delayed a bit.

-
Very impressive!
-
It's soooooo gooood to see GitS being gamed - lovely setup!
Did Pulp Alley work well for it?
-
Beautiful, Anders! You have the best toys. :-* :-*
-
Pulp Alley works a treat for ghost in the shell. I made a few new perks and abilities like Full cyborg body, (like noblesse but with added ability to jump 6" vertical without peril and any distance down with an opportunity to play perils from the opponents),and ghost hacker. Otherwise rules as written except for the extra ability for all characters recommended for sci fi and fantasy games.
We were really strapped for time so the road was painted after laying out the board at the con and then masking tape was used for road markings.
Unfortunately I had not made more than sketching out the large walker vehicles by hand, no computer layouts so in the end they were just eyecandy.
Tacikomas/Logikomas were character mounts with the possibility to climb walls wthout peril.
Most importantly a lot of fun were had by all involved.
Thanks for all the positive comments it means a lot.
-
Cool table.
A couple of those buildings look absolutely fantastic, namely the two white ones.
Are they scratch builds?
Is there a write up about them somewhere with some more eye candy? (http://www.frothersunite.com/phpBB3/images/smilies/icon_frothing.gif) (http://www.frothersunite.com/phpBB3/images/smilies/icon_frothing.gif) (http://www.frothersunite.com/phpBB3/images/smilies/icon_frothing.gif)
-
That white pool-mansion house looks really super and also very gameable - love it, thanks for posting it! :D
-
Both of the white buildings are laser cut mdf and acrylic kits from Impudent Mortal. Great kits for any near future game. The smaller building is a bar with removable roof. Iam on vacation at the moment but I will try to get some more pictures up when I get home.
