lol lol lol
Great minds think alike... What are the chances of that?
A gorgeous scene Frank. Wonderful :)
-
Lovely stuff
Frank: What a backdrop!
-
Well what a face off. The best two painters in the LPL with the same entry. Both are fantastic paintings. This is the most difficult choice of the entire competition.
-
Now that was a hellishly tight contest. I had to sit down with a checklist for this.
-
The Turk pointing, is he by chance exclaiming " Those ******* in the train have buggered off and left us!"

Wow. This is it. What entry to vote for? The best of the best did their best to show the best. Somehow it couldn´t be different from this. You both deserve to win this competition. I love trains, but what shall I vote for now? A hard nut to crack...
-
Not going to vote yet. I really cant decide.
As far as i am concerned you two are both number 1 in this league.
I think i will try harder and prepare early for next year so i can end up 3rd, 4th, or 5th behind you two again!!!
-
It is only fitting that it comes down to this. Good luck to you both -- such superb work. Thank you both for 10 weeks of wonder and amazement. You give the rest of us something to aspire to... :o

^^^ what they've said. Such a brilliant climax to the competition.
-
Never mind Richard ;)
I'll vote for you next year :D
cheers
James

Brilliant! :-*
-
I may not vote on this one o_o
That is some fine work gentlemen!
-
Great scenes and good pairing by organizers. The brightness of the background shows off the nice colors in the single wagon scene. The other one is too dark for my tastes, all the figures painted the same. Lawrence is straight out of the movie. The Arabs are excellent.
-
These are both superb entries, well done guys.
-
Stunning gentlemen! Just stunning! Best from the best! :o :o :o :o
-
Too dark? All the same? Well, no, not in my book. I love the look of the venting black smoke, spot on accurate - I live near a world class rail museum and have often seen exactly such belching out of smokestacks of iron horses. As to the sameness, well, there are four different uniforms in evidence at a quick glance - and then there is this, imagine men in uniform being, well, uniform! But to each there own. And I'm not telling who I voted for, no sir.
-
A kind of champions league-Final, I think.
-
This is really funny…we choose the same topic :D
Beautiful work Richard! Not only are the miniatures painted to perfect, also the rails and the wagon looks stunning. Good luck for you!
-
This is the longest that its taken me to cast my vote in any LPL so far
The entries are superb
Is there such a thing as an LPL penalty shoot out lol
Get practising guys
-
:)
Thanks all for the comments. It is indeed a Turkey shootout!
Good luck to you too Frank. Loser buys the bier mit waldmeister next time I am in Deutschland! (I did enjoy that green beer ;))
Truthfully, I'm amazed to be clinging on so far. I was fully expecting to get roundly walloped by Frank's brilliant cinematic scene, but the voting has been swirling around like a dust devil! At one point yesterday I was 12 votes behind. I looked an hour later, I was 2 votes ahead. Back from the dead! Now, as I write, I'm 16 votes behind again, and Frank is pulling away strongly. It's a suitably nail-biting finish. Enjoy! 8)

Wow :-* :-* :-*
-
Excellent entries guys, suitable final contest for sure! You both brought out some exceptionally great work on a subject that I am very fond of myself! Honestly, I thought that the Arab Revolt wouldn't be the most popular WWI-era setting, but man was I wrong!
Excellent guys, good luck to you both!

Absolutely beautiful scenes, miniatures and terrain. Both of you.
:-* :o :-*
-
So unfair to have to choose...
-
You wait all day for a Turkish train to come along and then two turn up together. ;)
-
I expected this one to be tight, but this is like trying to slice a strand of hair with a razor blade. Beautiful job both of you!
-
Another impossible choice, both are outstanding!!!
-
Brilliant work! Another almost impossible choice!!!!! Nice to see the Hejaz railway is popular today! The subject matter is fascinating from many angles of course and what happened then still impacts us today in the Middle-East.
-
Wow! Both are awesome :-*
-
I demand a re-paint! ;D
-
Any chance of seeing more of both painters' work?
