Can I do this? I'd love to do IWI, but I think a smaller scale would work better. What is available? And is the Osprey A World Aflame the rules to use/ If not, what? I've never done a guns-type game, so please help me out!

It is very doable in 20mm. Liberation Miniatures do a range specifically for the period http://www.rhmodels.com/46.html (http://www.rhmodels.com/46.html)
Reviresco have va good range of vehicles for the conflict appatently

Having said all that I'm doing it in 28mm as I love the Musketeer figures.
Rules wise I haven't settled on a set yet. I have the Osprey rules and they look promising. I also have Through the Mud and the Blood and was thinking of giving Triumph and Tragedy a go

Hello,
I like the rulebook, try to translate it in german language for myself at the moment. Is there somewhere a QRS-sheet in cyberspace? Thanks a lot for this nice work. Plan to use it for 20mm figs (1/72 & 1/76). Specialy I am looking for the Dad`s army charakters. If somebody know a producer, please post it here.
Yours, Sebastian

You may want to consider Chain of Command, it is capable of using small units, the ambush rule seems to work well and they encourage fire and movement tactics.
The Patrol Phase and Jump Off points would also fit the IWI quite well.
