Title: Any hobby use for 25%-100% cotton paper?
Post by: Condottiere on June 20, 2014, 06:46:34 AM
In need of printer paper, came across a pack of Southworth premium 25% cotton inkjet and laser paper (http://www.southworth.com/specialty/product/?group=60&ID=541) at Staples. Examined a few pages in an open pack and it felt a little different from ordinary inkjet paper, though not as much as if it were 50%-100% cotton. Anyone use pure or partial cotton paper in hobby applications? How about for flags or tents? Better results with 50% or higher versions?

Using it for sails might be a good application. What are the folding properties like?

cheers

FAQs About Paper (http://www.southworth.com/about-paper/faqs-2/#whycotton)

Felt pretty much like ordinary bright white inkjet paper and the texture isn't that far off, though didn't buy it, as it wasn't on the list - Southworth's higher cotton content paper might feel different, but there weren't any other versions at this Staples. It's about $12.99 for 250 sheets, while Hammermill inkjet paper, my brand of choice, is ~$13-$15 for 500. After reading the FAQ, I might pick up a pack and AFAIK, this version doesn't have the watermark, so more space for flags.
