Title: 20th Century wargaming in Falkirk - A Hundred Years of War - 28/9
Post by: Dave Knight on June 21, 2014, 08:29:00 AM
The Falkirk and District Wargames Club and the Society of Twentieth Century Wargamers are jointly sponsoring this event, which is open to all.

There will be two gaming sessions with a variety of games from across the period on offer.  We held the first of these events last year and the periods covered went from the Boxer rebellion, colonial Sudan, WW1 air to 2 WW2 infantry games.

Cost will be £0 - £2 depending on how generous our treasurer is feeling :)

If you would like to play and/or put on a game or need any further information please get in touch.

Had a good day

Games were

Cold War Commander x2 - 50's Vietnam and 80's Europe

Bolt Action x 2 - France 1914 and Spanish Civil War

Gangsters game using homebrew rules

Sons of the Desert - Mexican Revolution

We will almost certainly be running this again next year the last Sunday in September

I played both Bolt Action games (my first), with the highlight being a series of successful cavalry charges by very Napoleonic looking French Curiassiers that won us the game :o :o :o :D :D :D o_o o_o o_o lol lol lol

We will almost certainly be running this again next year- the last Sunday in September

Was I a bit over the top with my  :o lol o_o?

I had the benefit of not knowing the rules and just trying something - I am sure the cavalry would normally just be mown down ;)

I don't think so. All of the units breaking like they did must have been quite unexpected and worthy of the emoticons!
